I think FSG would know before deciding on Rodgers that the likelihood of Klopp coming to a club that most likely won't be in the CL is unlikely, just an opinion of course I may be wrong.

i get what you mean. i personally think theyll prob go for the DOF approach. let rodgers just coach the team rather than him be involved in things like transfers etc...

I do think a club like Liverpool may appeal to Klopp, but I would usually agree..

Yeh I was thinking that as well, passionate fans, good stadium, players who may fit well to his philosophy and a club he can try to build up.

I may be wrong but I am sure Klopp said his next job would be a project there's not many bigger projects out there then Liverpool football club. It is your opinion but knowing what we know about Klopp as a man it would be my opinion CL matters little.

The idea is though that what other options does he have?

The Spanish clubs won't change their manager. Neither will United, Chelsea or Arsenal. City executives don't really want him although their is a chance the club changes it's mind. Liverpool is the best option he has currently unless he decides to take a years break and consider his options next summer

Same stated above, as much as I love Rodgers he has failed badly this year and I wouldn't be surprised if he got axed at the end of the season. Klopp would be favourite and I believe he would want to be too.

I still think Arsenal could be a potential possibility at the end of the season, Wenger is going to call it a day at some point.

Also Man City will be holding out for Ancelotti is my bet if Pellegrini goes, if not the best they will have is Jurgen Klopp to turn to.

I wouldn't be completely shocked if Wenger retires after this season.

The only problem is... What are the expectations at Liverpool?

City, Chelsea and United are financially miles away and Arsenal are only improving. Its all well and good saying Rodgers is fraud and sacking the manager but Im not sure many could actually do better

a 5th place finish is about par for Liverpool and winning a trophy becoming increasingly difficult. Look at Arsenal for the size of their club

i get what you mean, but it feels like a window of oppourtunity was missed this summer when we atleast had the lure of CL football, sure we cant pay the chelsea, united etc... wages but were not exactly that far behind in terms of wages were not talking about us being a spurs or everton etc... we found players like coutinho and to a certain extent luis suarez for not much money. it was pretty certain even before the luis suarez biting fiasco that he was going to leave anyway so why was hes replacement not found, instead we panic bought mario. it seems once again were playing catch up when instead we shoould have capatalised on last season. typical LFC poor mismanagement for such a big club its a joke.

The team that wanted it most to win, won the game. Simple as that. LFC's players did not show anything close to the passion Aston Villa players showed tonight. It was like they were playing a friendly summer game

Thats a rather defeatist stance. The problem last summer wasn't finances but the way you guys went about things

You had the lure of CL football and a great historic club with passionate fans. However, you made terrible buys like Balotelli. Didn't move fast to get world-class players like Sanchez allowing Arsenal to snag him with your whole transfer committee nonsense. Never adequately replaced Suarez. Had terrible luck with injuries as well in that sense. Definitely an opportunity missed which could have seen LFC really consolidate their place in the top 4 as one of the elite clubs against. Back for square one by the looks of things

Every time we sell our best striker, we spend the money received so wrong. We sold torres and bought Carrol, we sold Suarez bought Balotelli and Lampert?? lol, really? suarez for balotelli and lampert.... :P

I would probably hire Klopp if it was up to me. It would truly re-energize and lift the entire club heading into next season if he arrives which is what the fan base desperately needs right now with a barren season and Stevie G leaving. Plus Klopps track record speaks for itself. The jury is still out on whether Rodgers can truly cut it at this level or did Suarez make him out to be better than he was last season

So you think the problem is Rodgers and not the fact that we have a team full of inexperienced but talented players? i don't think Wenger got arsenal in 2nd place with all his 20 years old players but that happened when he spent 120£ m to buy Sanchez and Ozil....Before that Arsenal was always coming 4th I think it is pretty clear what we should do and that is not to suck our manager but invest in top class players and give him some better options....

The thing is, do you really believe Rodgers had no say in the signings of players like Balotelli and lambert? This is not a case where he can put the entirety of the blame at the door of the executives and how they messed up. Even if we can, I still think Liverpool should get Klopp in not only for the effect it will have on morale but also because he is a better manager

Its quite defeatist because it is true.

The last two season's we have targeted arguably two of the best players this season in Sanchez and Costa. Both rejected us and in the past its been similar on many occasions where we simply do not have the pulling power of the bigger sides

Combine wages and CL football and we simply have never got both to offer so when a bigger side comes in our pursuit of that player is all but done
