I agree on all, but those transfers would be decent business... Three of those players would be free transfers with Benteke the only purchase.

Gives us money to spend on other targets

Havent we learnt from carrol in terms of benteke, unless we cross thd ball his useless. Milner avoid high wages and nothin special too deserve wages that high. Ings excellent backup heard his girls scouse so could happen. Think this summer will be a sell to buy transfer wise. The club cant afford too spend million upon millions espicially with stadium costs. Anyway any transfer news is useless untill we know who the new manager is.

It will depend how he is deployed I suppose, but people have also moaned there is no plan B this season yet they then moan potential signings who dont fit the current structure being targeted

Milner is a no-brainer. I honestly cannot see why any Liverpool fan wouldn't want him - Ings will simply be a decent back-up

Echo and a few others suggested it is 30mil + sales apparently

This is another problem again, it makes me angry lol. Why get milner when you have a similair but imo better player in hendo then another excellent cm similair to milner in can. All milner will do is block the path of a young player from the academy e.g rossiter. Along with taken up 100k in wages. Ffs typical lfc needless buying in a position were heavily stocked in.

Liverpool are not considering replacing under-fire manager Brendan Rodgers this summer, according to Sky sources.

Milner, in my opinion, will be a fantastic signing and on a free transfer.

Experience, versatility and gives us more depth

I would take this with a pinch of salt. Fsg are ruthless buisness men who will not accept mediocrity

Still havent answered my question. You been taking lesson from the brodge. In all seriousness not saying he is bad but he is not what we need. We made the mistake in the summer of buying players we dont need lets not make the same mistake again.

Independent and Telegraph tweeting he is about to sign new deal after talks.

Seen that.. surprise that money talks

We get Milner because of his experience, his versatility and his quality. That rarely comes along for a fee of 0.

We currently have Lucas, Can, Allen and Henderson as our CM options - Hardly stacked

lucas=def mid if milner was defensive mid then yes but he is not.

can, deno= steely midfield players who will give us precense, no need to add milner who is similair will be 30 looking for a large signing on fee including agent fees on more than 100k at city why would he want anyless at lfc. no such thing as a "fee of 0".

allen= lord knows what he does but if rodgers leaves he will be first out imo, replace him with rossiter.

overall, more negatives than positives all this he gives us depth bullshit i never understand what is the point of buying squad players and over inflating the wage bill, when a squad player could be an up and coming youngster, we would never have known if gerrard, fowler or owen etc... were good enough if they never given a chance. same could be said for rossiter, branaghan etc...

That's your opinion.. Cant say I agree with it in the slightest but that's not really a surprise

>_> By doing so, you're again falling into the trap you fell into last year. Yes, bringing through youth/buying youth is good, but you can't only depend on youth, you need experience to temper it with. You say to promote Rossiter, but for his development, it probably is better if he is eased into the team, not thrown headfirst into it, which is what probably would happen if either of your CM get injured.

At the moment, lets exclude Lucas, who you say is a DM. Plus, he's kinda inconsistent. That leaves Can and Henderson in CM roles. Rodgers has very rarely used Can in his preferred role, and if he continues, I dunno how you can hope that will change. And anyhow, if either or both of Henderson or Can get injured, you are literally screwed. None of your other players have the discipline or ability really, to play at CM. And I don't think anyone has figured out what Allen does, so let's exclude him from the conversation.

In such a scenario, it'd be a very high benefit to Liverpool to have Milner. Versatile, experienced and doesn't go missing too much in big games. Gives you a chance to get rid of Allen and promote Rossiter, while getting a good player in Milner.

This.

On the bold part - Rodgers has stated his position is CM but the lack of options at CB due to injuries and the poor form of Lovren has left him being one of our best options there

Who's fault is it that can has Been exposed in cb his a cm he should never be playing their in the first place. Another mistake by Rodgers. I'm not against signing Milner because I think his rubbish I'm against signing Milner because he is leaving city because he is not first choice meaning that he would want to go dislodge either can or hendo who IMO are younger and better boy who are not on milners wages. So what does that make Milner a back squad player who will take up the place of rossiter. Last seasons summer buys had nothin to do with buying young players only markovich can be classified as young, lovers and Lallana and ballo are not young players so that point doesn't even make sense.

Can only had one or two good matches at centre back, apart from that it is his offensive qualities that have shone when bringing the ball out. Defensively he has been awful. Putting square legs in round holes is one of the reasons why Rodgers has well failed this season.

Milner is a squad player in a much better Man City team than Liverpool...

Haha, no he didn't. Can was pretty solid - one of the reasons we had one of the best defensive records coincided with him moving there and Mignolet was in contention for the golden glove

Of course, he was better at CM, but we have limited options to replace him at CB and none of them could bring the ball forward like he could from that position

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think origi, markovic, moreno, manquillo and can are all youngsters. How is the point about youth not relevant?
