Be interesting to see the progression of Andre Wisdom this season seeing as RB/CB are two areas that there will be an opportunity in

BREAKING: Kolo Toure signs one-year extension with Liverpool

Makes sense as an experienced head for both depth/ emergency purposes and a great vet. pro to have in the squad.

To the damning detriment to the rest of them, Kolo is still the ONLY defender we have who has positional sense and talks and organises the rest. The problem now is he no longer has any pace. He shouldn't be allowed ANYWHERE near a Premier League game.

But as a cheaper, experienced option that can spell players in the cups and Europa League I have no problem with.

Can't attend to everything in one summer and buy do we have some major holes to attend to.

Yeah, he was getting good minutes at West Brom before Pullis tipped up then nothing.

I see him more as a ball playing centre half and hope he doesn't get stuck at RB. Be interesting as you say to see just where he's at this pre-season because at 22, he needs to either be a contributing part of the squad or he needs moving on. We're past the loan stage at that age.

Lol. Yeah, by default, outside of Coutinho, Milner would automatically become our best midfielder.

My issue with the Milner talk is he wouldn't bring anything particularly special. Yeah, he's a good, solid, hard working pro. And yeah, as mentioned, he's better than most anything we have there outside of the lil' Brazilian genius. (How long before Madrid or Barca take him BTW? I give it another season unless things turn dramatically. He's FAR too good for this ****. *Sighs.). But that's not really saying much given the majority are not fit to be here to start with. If we're looking to take it on to the point of even just regularly competing for a top 4 place; then we really need to be looking at better quality than James Milner.

Unless money's at a complete premium like.

thank you, were not arguing milner is a bad player. but on the high wages he is on and the position he plays and the similair players we have to him e.g can, hendo. whats the point of buying him.

That's exactly my view.

He doesn't bring anything different to the table than we already have. Yeah, he'd be an immediate starter by default all things being equal. But that's saying little when the competition is Henderson and Joe frigging Allen.

Milner is the type of solid, reliable player you fill your squad out with. Not be looking to bring in at a club like this to start.

lets not forget toure best moments^^)

You underestimate Milner. City's best performances has come when he is on the wing with Silva on the other flank. He would do great at Liverpool, easliy becoming one of your most important players. Would certainly take him at United.

Ive mentioned it before, but I cannot understand any Liverpool fan not wanting him ... Not to mention it is on a free transfer as well.

There is a reason City are doing all they can to get him to stay

Biggest reason is wages, United can afford to pay him 100k plus we cannot. Simples. Btw no such thing as free he will be looking for a heft singing on few along with agent cuts etc...

have no problem with toure signing a new deal we need a few experienced heads next year thats why id like milner aswell very good player

looks like benteke is our number 1 target dont know how to feel about that to be honest ings, origi, benteke and sturridge dont give me much hope 1 is always injured 1 is a mid table player 1 is 19 and very raw and 1 doest fit the style we want to play just look at carroll balotelli and lambert

Milner is a massive big game player. The games against United and Bayern multiple times he has been outstanding. City are realsing (maybe too late) how important he is, hence the mega offer.

got no problem in us signing Milner I'm not convinced with Benteke and Ings we got to go abroad for a striker this summer.

ings yes good backup striker young his injury prone which is what puts me off. but benteke is the biggest no, more than milner. we just ****** got rid of carrol why would we want carroll 2.0. unless we plane on crossing the ball then theirs no need for benteke.

Milner's a great ******* player. I'm a fan. He's always a bit under the radar because media always tends to overrate flashy talent over someone who does all the hard work.

I can't think of a reason people may NOT want him in Liverpool. People would be wise to remember immortal words of certain Bill Shankly "football team is like a piano. You need eight men to carry it and three who can play the **** thing"

Because Milner can carry the piano all by himself.
