Depends where he's going I 'spose. And by the sound of it he's something lined up.

If he's thinking he's got Sturridge (if he EVER gets healthy), Ings and (hopefully) another top forward to get past; or he can really kick start his pro career by playing regularly somewhere then fair play to him.

Can't knock a guy for wanting to play.

Yeah fair play, at least he is showing ambition. I just think the smarter move would be to talk to Rodgers about what they both want and to sign a shorter contract. maybe with a clause that we'd have to accept bids of a certain offer from prem clubs.

You never know though, like you say, he may have a move lined up.

Yeah, if you're a young player, the one manager you do, or should, want to play for is Rodgers. All his backgrounds in youth level, so he knows exactly how to handle them and what's needed. And he's more than shown he isn't afraid to give youth a chance and stick with it.

All makes Sterling's attitude all the more maddening. You just think 'why?' What more could you want than what this man has given you to turn on him like that?

James Pearce
@JamesPearceEcho Rodgers: "Raheem & I have always remained very strong in our relationship and that remained the case when we left. There is no issue there."

If Sinclair is leaving for football reasons then you have to admire him,

Not seen enough from him to say he would be an answer to our striker problems, but something about him is likeable, good luck to him!

Those Reus rumours just will not go away.

Telling yer, if we're serious, this is a real possibility.

And if the Gomez for Balotelli switch goes through too, this would be one heck of a good summer transfer wise.

If he's moving, I just cannot see him going to you. Too many other clubs have been tracking him for too long.

Oh, I'm not expecting it mate in all honesty. Just letting my mind run away with the thought.

That said, there is definitely talk within the club and if FSG were serious and put up the money, I think you'd be surprised at the draw they still are on the continent. Even without the Champions League, the pull of this club back in the competition a year down the line is still a real attractive prospect.

Total if related aside. The history thing is a funny old subject. It was said on here not too far back that L'pool are always living in the past yada yada. Well this Century, the last 15 years, there's only Utd and yourselves won more trophys than Liverpool in England. And no English club has won more European trophies.

But everyone's so fixated on the 25 year title drought that get's overlooked with everything else.

Latest rumours are 22mil rising to 26mill or 30million plus Rickie Lambert for Benteke (One of the two depending on reports). They originally asked for Origi on loan but LFC said he was part of the first team

Be nice if we now took the £40 million FSG did fantastically to hold out for and strengthened the most vulnerable areas of the side. (GK and CF.).

Was about to say, we bought a championship rated keeper to be backup to our championship rated keeper. It had me thinking the other day, what exactly our mignolet strengths. He cant kick for ****, He cant catch, He has horrible positioning and before anyone say shot stopping, that is the prerequisite for a keeper even then it isnt even the best. I was in the few that thought we had more pressing options but whats more pressing than a half decent keeper at the least. surely we can convince begovic to join us instead of chelsea

Preaching to the choir brother.

Yet again. Liverpool have completely neglected one of the most vulnerable areas of the team. Two years ago we almost won the league despite having arguably the worst 'keeper in the PL in nets. The very FIRST thing we should of done with the Suarez money was strengthen our weakest area. Instead we blew through £117 million on 8 other positions and totally neglected it. Last year, he was even worse, if that was possible, for the first 5 months. He then had, to his credit, a complete turnaround through the 4 month mid-season run. Then turned back into his career average mediocrity when everything turned back to **** the run-in. Culminating in the absolute disgrace that was Stoke. At least half those goals where on him. It blows my mind that people don't think goalkeeper was/ should of been RIGHT up there in the list of priorities at Anfield this summer. Aside from it being one of the most important areas on this or any other team, it is, along with CF, Liverpool's most vulnerable. But people are looking at his form through the mid-season run and thinking everything will be ok. That was a COMPLETE anomaly to the rest of his career. Yeah, he might of gained some confidence to take into this year, But he's still MORE than prone to at least one serious **** up EVERY game that can be the difference in losing or not.

Look at our competitors. They all have competent goalkeepers either in the World class bracket (Courtois, Cech and <currently> De Gea at Chelsea, Arsenal and United respectively. Or very good goalies the next group just below that. Hart and Lloris at City and 'Spurs.). Liverpool have Simon Mingolet. A man who was a back-up 'keeper at his previous club and only got a first team chance down to a serious injury to their first choice or else he'd still be that. And yet again he goes into a season as the undisputed number 1 with absolutely no serious threat to his place after Liverpool neglected a serious weak spot for the second straight year to their detriment.

It staggers me how many fans didn't see this as a priority problem to fix. The fact those within the club didn't yet again is REALLY concerning.

This will cost Liverpool dear again this term. Feel free to quote me on that.

It's an area to improve upon but 'championship keeper' and 'worst in the Premier League' are complete overreactions

Think about that through this year when he's (inevitably) costing your side precious points.

Single worst long term goalkeeper I've ever had the misfortune of watching in red.

That isn't an overreaction.

Although I agree he can be improved upon, at the start of this summer he was along way down the list of priorities

Rodgers: "Raheem & I have always remained very strong in our relationship and that remained the case when we left. There is no issue there."

This is the most ridiculous thing I have seen in a LONG time. I mean ok Brenda is the very definition of "PR speak" but this is really taking the Michael!

I agree that mignolet is terrible and it should have been number 1 priority, he's the last line of defence so u want a really strong person in there, belgium hav produced some brilliant keepers but he aint 1 of them

Paddy Power have some great bets on Sterling, Sterling to score 10 or under league goals next season is evens, get your money on that!
