Seems to be Klopp judging by all the morning's papers.

Nah. Couldn't possibly be. Yer know, being as we've been consistently told all summer we couldn't attract someone of that ilk like him or Ancelotti. Yer know, as we're no longer a big club and all. Even from some doubting L'pool fans as well. ;).

As someone with deep sympathies for LFC and having lived the last seven years under Klopp, I hope he finds a club with more financial prowess and a less broken squad. Klopp ain't one for selling 75% of your team within a year, yet that's what it'd take to give him a bunch o' footballers who actually arrived in the 21st century. Meaning no offense, but I hope he'll snipe for Mourinho's or van Gaal's seat.

Holy ****, I just read the breaking news now. I've been busy with other stuff, and tbh I was actually surprised. It's the right decision, and it's about time, but I'm still surprised they actually managed to realize their mistake so (relatively) fast.

But I'm gonna hold back on the cheering until the replacement is official. There's nothing to celebrate if we end up with Monk or Martinez - but if it's Klopp or Ancelotti, I'll finally feel optimistic again.

He'd be my 2nd choice after Ancelotti, but if it is indeed Jurgen, the away end at Tottenham a week Sat'day lunch time will be absolutely bouncing.

Klopp is my first choice with Ancelotti second, so if it's either of them I suppose we can both feel satisfied. More than satisfied actually, considering the last 15 months.

English press in general are torn between Klopp and Ancelotti as the replacement. The Bosnian newspaper Pravda claimed yesterday that Klopp is the guy, and that his assistant from Dortmund, Zeljko Buvac, will be joining him. Jan Åge Fjørtoft, the closest we have to an expert on German football here in Norway, is also claiming it's Klopp.

James Pearce is now saying the same thing. Ancelotti and de Boer are in the mix as well, but Klopp seems to be the leading candidate.

If that *** is claiming Klopp, I'm going with 'Ancelotti's red and white army!' ha ha.

Just imagine the lift the entire club will feel whoever of those three get appointed. They all have massive names within football, they've all WON TROPHIES. They can attract players, and they're almost certain to do better than Rodgers' 50% win rate in his 166 games (83 wins, 41 draws, 42 losses). I think it will be a huge boost, and could very well save the season if we get off to a good (re)start. But there's no doubt Rodgers should've been sacked in the summer, FSG are indirectly admitting this by sacking him now.

James Pearce knows what Brendan Rodgers leaks to him. Hence the hatchet jobs on Carroll and Balotelli

Liverpool owners have decided to replace Brendan Rodgers but next manager WON’T be Jurgen Klopp, talkSPORT told | talkSPORT

In hindsight it could be argued that it was spot on. According to Pearce, the decision was made before the derby today, and Rodgers would've been sacked regardless of the result.

Yes, I know, it's talksport and they suck bla-bla-bla. I don't ******* care about where it's published, I care about who wrote it. And the guy who wrote it, Graham Beecroft, also reported Benteke was a done deal long before it was made official. Of course, anyone could've guessed that, but still.

Is anyone familiar with this guy? He's claiming on Twitter that it's Ancelotti who will take the reins.

Dont know never heard of him tbh. Although he could be right who knows, Im currently waiting for what macca on the lfc rumours site has to say he was the one who said Rodgers was already gone before everyone else really. Its all guesswork at the minute.

I suppose. Barrett is also claiming Klopp.

Well atleast we know it wil either be klopp, Ancelotti and de boer. So any of the journalists saying who will it be will be choosing from those three. Bit of a win win for them tbh.

And more importantly, a win/win for us.

Yeah, big mistake not to sell in the summer. New guy would have all that transfer budget available. Or might even been able to convince Sterling to stay.

Personally I can't see Frank De Boer moving to Liverpool mid-season. He loves Ajax too much and it seems like he wants revenge for last season. He wants to get his Eredivisie title back and he wants to prove he can move to the next rounds in europe.

But after this season De Boer is gone for sure. He doesn't like all the drama off the field at Ajax with Cruijff talking about which formation he has to play etc. I just don't think Liverpool would wait a whole season for a coach who hasn't proven himself yet outside the Eredivisie.

We are lucky that in this time of the year 2 great managers are available.

Rather start the new era without the malcontents ta.

That boats sailed.
