Has anyone else seen the "Rodgers Flop XI" in this article: BBC Sport - Brendan Rodgers: Why Liverpool sacked their manager

Sakho?! I still think he is one of our best defenders. And Bogdan? Has only played once and made some excellent penalty saves

I don't know what's going on in their heads when they write this ****. I just saw another newspaper refer to Can and Origi as flops, and that that's the reason why Rodgers was sacked. Why the **** are they publishing drunk people's shower thoughts? Can and Origi weren't even Rodgers signings! It's the RESULTS that got him the sack for crying out loud, along with his inability to manage the players signed FOR him.

Man, you guys are gonna be so sad when you get someone like Unai Emery.

As a rival fan I hope you don't get either Klopp or Ancelotti because I like them both (Who doesn't?) and there's no club I despise more than Liverpool, but at the same time I'd love to see them in the PL or in Carlo's case back in the PL. Still I'm sure whoever you appoint will be an improvement over Brenda but I'd just hate to hear 'Klopp/Ancelotti has been appointed Liverpool manager'. Now in regards to Rodgers the best move for him now IMO is to manage abroad, somewhere like Italy could do him a world of good.

Honestly don't feel for him at all Pat,

The club had completely and utterly stagnated under him. From the players through the supporters. Going the match was just NO fun anymore. Nobody went expecting to win. Regardless of WHO we were playing. (Carlisle pre-game was a glaring, recent disgraceful example.).

He continually played players out of position. Persisted with his favourites no matter how **** poor they were. Came up with a multitude of ridiculous, desperate formations that not only changed game-to-game, but often during frigging games. His stubbornness was off the charts. That tweet above about Allen encapsulates all that was wrong with his tenure. The decision to not replace Mingolet alone two seasons running defied belief. Making Henderson the captain in a team desperately searching for leaders was moronic in itself. And the utter embarrassing bollocks he was coming out with to the media was cringe worthy.

Too many are getting duped by '13/'14 when you could well justifiably argue he cost us the league as close as he came to winning it. Both in his bollocks tactics and substitutions the last three. And his complete neglect of setting up the team defensively at any point that year to aid a career year from Suarez and fit Sturridge for the vast majority of it. 53 goals we conceded. With the career year Suarez had we should of had the league locked up before the Chelsea bollocks if he gave a **** about defending.

He'd sent the fans to as equally low ebb as what Hodgson had and Anfield in particular was a horrible place to go watch football this season with the absolute boring tedium he put out.

No sympathy for him at all. I'll thank him for the roller coaster of '13/'14 as he was the manager. (As much as I blame him for costing us #19.).

But the rest of it has been pretty consistent carnage.

Good riddance.

I can see your point I guess, I just feel that there were plenty of factors stacked against him - the transfer committee, key injuries - and the 13/14 season was fantastic, and he does deserve a great deal of credit for that. I think the malaise that set in last season wasn't entirely of his making, although I think it was the West Brom and Hull City games where I finally started to think that maybe he wasn't the man for the job, not so much because of the results, but because I could not for the life of me understand some of the selections and the tactics.

That was what did it and I felt that it would have been best for him to be moved on at the end of the season, but I think some of the blame has to fall on FSG for allowing things to continue into this season, which leads to more and more hatred being built up for a man that I believe truly tried his best for the club, and felt that he was capable of leading us forward, and I think that with a little more luck he could have. I do believe that parting ways is best for all parties, but I think Rodgers has been made to look far worse than he actually is, and I think he's going to be very successful at another club some time soon.

I'm excited at the prospect of Klopp or Ancelotti though, make no mistake. Hopefully players like Firmino, Moreno, Sakho and Benteke can flourish under whoever the new manager is - Benteke in particular is one I couldn't really see fitting into Rodgers' system. As for Mignolet, he was brilliant yesterday and on his day he is a very good keeper, but I do agree that we should be looking for an upgrade. Leno or Horn anyone? I'm also optimistic that the new man might look to sign an upgrade on Skrtel, as well as a defensive midfielder! And I'm hoping Markovic gets a real chance next season.

As for Henderson, it seems pretty clear to me that we're a far better team with him than without him, and I think he was the best choice for captain - maybe other than Sakho, who I think should have been made vice captain. Henderson is a player who I think is underrated by many because of his immense work rate. He gets pigeon-holed as a workhorse with little creativity or real skill, but in actual fact, whilst not at the level of a Coutinho, Silva or other top level playmaker, his creativity is pretty decent, and his passing range is impressive enough. His ability to run all day seems to count against him in the eyes of some who then dismiss his other abilities. His passion is clear to see, and he's turning into a great leader - obviously not a Gerrard, but he comfortably has the ability to lead this team, with his ability as well as his manner.

People just don't understand the depth of feeling, which borders on out right hatred, between long standing Chelsea and L'pool fans. It never fails to amuse me when the media like to credit Mourinho and Benitez for creating some sort of modern day rivalry when this **** has been going on decades. Along with Leeds, we've always been Chelsea's most hated Northern club and vice versa.

Thankfully we're all mature enough to be respectful on here to faceless posters. And I happen to really like the opinions of quite a few Chelsea fans on these here boards.

But when it comes to Chelsea (and your 'classy' support from some oh so fun experiences over the years. Particularly down The Bridge) I can honestly say the feelings mutual and you're right up there if not above Utd to me personally.

Love yer bro'. :P.

I'm jizzing over imagining Klopp standing on the Anfield sideline.

MAKE IT HAPPEN GOD DAMMIT

But i'll always like Brendan for one season alone - It was the best season I've ever watched as a fan and he was literally a Gerrard slip, a Henderson red card or a result at Palace away from legendary status. One of those three not happening and Liverpool won the league that year

We still would not have won the league if we beat Palace.

TMI! Image man for God's sake!

Sure most every other fan of the other 4 are praying that doesn't happen. If FSG get this one right la .....

Among the many texts going back and forth yesterday, a late one from a good blue friend amused me:

'Might as well of lost to the red *****. Feels like we did after Rodgers going. We were all celebrating keeping him in a job at the final whistle and yuse in the ***** but yers couldn't even give us that!' XD.

O'Driscoll, Gary Mac and Achterberg are reportedly also leaving. Lijnders is staying, and Hamann could be due for a role in the coaching team.

By the way, how the **** do you do this Twitter thing? Embed Tweet, copy link to Tweet, what, how?

FINALLY! As **** poor as Mingolet is, how his individual coach has survived this long is anyone's guess.

Cant simply see Ancelotti or Klopp being the one. Probs the media is hyping it to up because they are the most known coaches without a job... But wanted to take a year off. Also they are simply too big names for Liverpool.

With the greatest of respect, that is one of the most naive things I've seen posted on here.

A certain Arsenal fan will be ****** you're stealing his mantle.

If I was Tottenham I'd be bricking it.

A Klopp lead L'pool with the entire fanbase united behind him a week Sat'day will be a very dangerous animal indeed.

And his press conferences are going to be absolute dynamite.

The times they are a changing fella's. We're on our way back!

See, Klopp isn't even confirmed, and I've already seen more genuine excitement around here than during last couple of years. This is what he does, he unites everybody around the team.

Did have a shocking last season with Dortmund though and kind of bailed out. United fan clutching at straws here, IF he joins Liverpool I'll be surprised but know it will bring unity/fear factor back to Anfield.

I cannot emphasise how important this season will be to the club. It's probably the most important season in our history(not including the take-over saga). The increase in prize money for the Champions League now means the gap between the teams in and out of it is going to get bigger. We're also facing the very real threat that the Premier League will only be entering 3 teams into the Champions League.

I've always said we need the Champions League because I love the competition. But now we need to be in it just to survive. FSG need to get this spot on.

Ideally we get Klopp, he lifts the whole club, and we finish in the top 3. Despite our abomination of results this season we still sit just 6 points of top and 4 points off of United in 3rd.

Abso-freaking-lutely man. The fanbase has gone from absolute rock bottom to utopia! You just can't fail to like him. (Even if I do think he's bat **** crazy ha ha. XD.).

I can't wait for his first presser. It'll be a dynamite riot!

I'm not getting worried just yet, as it is all assumptions as far as I can tell, nothing really credible other than Liverpool have contacted two of the most sought after managers in the world, which you'd expect. The question is whether they have any interest in the job, that is ultimately what it boils down to.

I can't believe Ancelotti will reject Milan just two or three months before then deciding to go to Liverpool. Klopp may like the huge challenge of taking over Liverpool but my god has he got his work cut out.
