Avram Grant also called himself the 'Normal One' when taking over at Chelsea
Klopp is definitely in some illustrious company there
Tbf to Avram, his record at Chelsea was fantastic. (H)

Why should are realistic goal be 5th when were capable of getting 4th now.I can't hate Klopp, such a likable guy and down to earth. I actually hope he returns you back to near the top because it will make the league better when United and Liverpool are competing together again. But with the current team, I just can't see anything miraculous happening right now because he needs to put his stamp on the club, which means bringing in his players. Also his way of management and getting the team to play a certain way will be a process that takes time.
The ultimate goal for this season is top 4 but honestly I think 5th should be realistic goal.
You are 'worthy' of a top 4 place by performing over a 38 game season. Before Rodgers came to Liverpool, they were a 7-9th placed team playing drab football that barely made it to the Europa League. To put it into perspective he finished 7th in his first season, which was one place above the last. That was fairly reasonable, considering he was a new, young coach at this level and Liverpool had been shocking. The next season, he vastly over performed, finishing 2nd. If not for the **** up with Palace, Liverpool would have won the title. Last season, Liverpool finished in 5th place, which if you look at squad strength and money spent, is about where they should be. Fact is, Brendan left Liverpool better than when he found it and his reign to an extent has been a success. This was Brendan's first venture into a somewhat big club and I'm sure he's learned from a few huge ****-ups, such as pushing out Reina for Mignolet.Because honestly, you don't have a team worth a top 4 place.

That's not a goal, that's just the minimum expectation - Top 4 will be hard but that's the target and it's not unrealistic either
Isn't that basically what I said? Ultimate goal top 4, realistically 5th.
This team at the moment isn't as good as the top 4 teams so I don't see why with Klopp it is? If he can get you there this season it will be a big over-achievement with this current team you have.
Realistically 5th, yes... But that's not a target or a goal.
Being a United fan you should know the impact of a manager - I am not for one moment suggesting a Fergie style impact, but you can see on this forum alone the sheer excitement and it's something the squad has been lacking the last 6 months-year
The impact of a manager like Fergie grew over time, when he came in at the start of his reign it was not an immediate impact. It took things to get worse before they eventually started to improve after a few seasons and he was able to put his stamp on the club.
I'm not suggesting that Klopp won't have an impact immediately, but you have to accept that it isn't ideal with the situation of how he comes in at this point because you've just allowed a manager to sign players in the summer and prepare the team to his way all of pre-season. There is going to have to be time allowed for him to completely have his stamp on the club and the players he wants.

I'll go farther. Why should we not be looking at winning it all?
Sorry Scouse, you lost me there
Well, knowing it's as realistic an aim to both of us as the club who the poster I quoted support's, why not?
Klopp wins the league this year and he deserves a knighthood
Because you arent as good as the others, you havent had any prep time with your new manager, you dont have the resources of the others, especially Chelsea and the two Manchester clubs. To start thinking of the league is to start getting extremely carried away.No question. But you could make the same case about one or two of the other big 5 managers.
That's the point. If them, then why not us?
