I can buy that on Skrtel's mistakes (I personally thought Milner was our worst player by a long chalk aside from his work rate. Although Phil was very average too); but by the same token, I'd say it was kind of what we expect from Mingolet on a good day. Great saves mixed in with abysmal distribution and dithering on balls back to him.
Im still scratching my head as to why we thought it was a good idea to buy milner. Hopefully when hendo's back we can relegate him to the bench. Awful signing and to think some posters on this forum thought he would be a good signing. :'(

Yeah, be interesting to see if he survives beyond this year. Or if he's even a regular when Henderson and Firmino are back which I doubt he will be. The derby aside, he's been real poor this year. He works hard but he's contributed little outside of that.

Great to see Can playing in midfield today and not at the back too.

Can playing where I hoped he would be. Don't get me wrong i think you will be a lot better under Klopp eventually. I just didn't see this game as a big turning point, or you being significantly better than before. And thats not a poor reflection on him at all. Not every change must be instant.

Yeah I can agree with that, Mignolet's distribution was a bit worrying, I remember him putting Moreno in hot water at one point, and his tendency to take an extra touch put himself under unnecessary pressure at times

Thats the most positive we've played since the mancs burst our bubble last season and it al fell to ****

Games we've played we've been lucky but if we'd sturridge or benteke yesterday we'd destroyed spurs, keep the positivity going, forget the negative ****

Especially with 5 probable starting 11 players out injured currently

Sturridge in the frame for Thursday.

An organised defence for the first time in 3 years. A team busting it's balls for the new manager. A new manager with another 4 days work with his new charges coming off a very solid, if unspectacular, start. A believing fanbase. And the main miss from the opener. A proven forward.

Hope and excitement for a European game again. Man I'd almost forgotten how that felt.

I agree about time we started supporting our team rather than worry about other team supporters in here, in the words of Gerard Butler WE ARE LIVERPOOL lol

Hold my hands up with this one!

His standard has been nothing of what it was last season!

Same, I was very happy with the signing but so far he hasn't justified it. Haven't lost faith though, he can still come good

Milner was a good signing and still us - the fact he is playing below expectations is poor but it was still a positive move.

Yeah I wouldn't call him a bad signing by any stretch, were only in our third month of the season, he's not the only one who's played bad this season so I'm not targeting him. They've all been below par! Hopefully with Klopp that's about to change, and I think it will.

Keep on saying it but just how great is that feeling? To not worry about the future knowing we have a competent, proven winner who you rest safe in the knowledge has it all under control. As opposed to the inexperienced, naive previous one in clown shoes who never did.

Our cycle is coming around again man.

I think Klopp's debut against Tottenham was promising and Liverpool will do even better once they get Sturridge back. He really showed that Liverpool are more offensive now and it should be good for you I think :)

It's an amazing feel, seeing him put arms around players, seeing us press for a long period of the game and seeing us look defensively solid compared to previous games, and this is without a couple of big names to that side.

He said he wants to work with the players we've got but I can't help but think he will bring 1 or 2 decent names in January time.

I'm looking forward to seeing that squad at the start of next season.

Like you said too, I'm buzzing for Thursday! Just a shame I can't get a ****** ticket...

I respect your opinions but seriously a good move?. Arsenal were clever enough to tell milner to do one. For me Milner has embarrassed this club not only did we make him our highest paid player and given him the signing on fee of a lifetime, we pandered to his need to play CM. Which lets be honest he never was. He is a highlight reel player for me, people assume he is good because he runs around alot but most of that running is for no good reason because he lacks positional sense. We got rid of gerrard because he lacked defensive and positional sense to play DM yet we bring in milner to play CM. I just dont get it. Experience is worth jack **** if well your ****.

Milner has not embarrassed the club at all, don't go that far.

Rodgers making him vice captain was a bad move mind, but when Jordan Henderson is your captain you're lacking leaders. That's the sad reality of it. He shouldn't be VC in my opinion though.

Don't talk about the him being a replacement for Gerrard, that is still the sorest talking point about Liverpool for me right now. Gerrard would still walk in our team, and I can't believe he's not in that starting XI, like he said, he would have been a bit part player if we offered him a coaching role too.

Another decision which seemed to be more Rodgers than anything. I can't forgive BR for that.

I'm just glad we finally have a leader in our group now, and that's Klopp, because I don't see it in ANY of our players.

My views on Milner - He's just a signing, like many others. Nothing too great but no reason to have a meltdown about him either.

I did have a feeling him and Henderson would have been briliant in midfield together, but I've not had enough evidence to say either way, and none of us have!

With the current situation on the squad especially in midfield (injured Hendo, Milner still unsettled, Lucas plays 1 out of 3 games, Rossiter doesn't get games in a row and well... Welsh Xavi) Gerrard would be easily a first team option. I hadn't missed a game of his in the MLS and he's in great shape. 40 yard passes, tackles, creating clear cut chances, helping throught set pieces, you name it. He does a bit of everything and I think that if Klopp played him as an Attacking Midfielder he would do wonders for 20-25 games.
