The thing is, I know you have a top manager now but nothing's really changed (Performances etc aside). You're still behind Chelsea, City, United and possibly Arsenal when it comes to signing 'top' players. Also I'm sure you'll still sell your best players if the likes of Barcelona and Real come in for them. The future certainly seems brighter for you Liverpool fans, but it's a bit too early to say that times are changing (People said the same under Brendan).

Surprised by how badly Milner's been to be honest. Thought he'd be solid. Spends half his time on his ****.

This blert is beyond priceless .....

Hahaha Chelsea fan calling Liverpool fans nasty horrible people. The irony.

I love lucas so much, such an underrated player the things he does on the football pitch that people who just ball watch never see. First name on the teamsheet for me, plus he should have been made Club Captain. Insult that Milner was made VC ahead of him, considering he is covering his *** in midfield because no one taught Milner that running around aimlessly and misplacing passes isn't a prerequisite for a midfielder. He adds experience they said...

One of our most under appreciated players for a long time. I often wonder if it's a combination of both lack of goals and creativity (which you don't often get in great spades from even great DM's who aren't strong on set pieces or in the air); and the difference in watching live and on TV. TV just doesn't pick up the ridiculous amount of work Lucas get's through in a game. It's also been very noticeable to see him up the other end of the pitch under Klopp. Something that rarely if ever happened previously so his role and licence to do that has patently changed. He's as close to his pre-injury form as he's ever been for me right now and I'd agree. One of the first names on the team sheet.

As for the vice captaincy, he showed Saturday in having no fear in taking off the man with armband. If Milner rolls over to next season I would imagine they'll defo be a new vice captain. (And maybe even a captaincy change overall.). Milner will still have a big role to play this year. But you feel it will be off the bench to close things out and he's just holding the place until Henderson's return. (Who's back on the training field this week. Not with the group, but he's at least working out again so he's getting closer.).

he physically wasnt able to break up the pitch for a long long time.

I'm fairly certain that United, Arsenal & Chelsea aren't in a much better position when it comes to stopping Madrid & Barca buying/ doing what they want. I hope you've got Hazard locked away somewhere because Madrid are coming!

As for Liverpool, we need to first start by stopping clubs in the PL from signing our star players (ie. Sterling).. Far bigger priority.

Well, how many DMs you can even think of, that were appreciated by general public and without media encouragement. Its the most thankless position, always was. Unless you're a Gattuso/Keane style raving lunatic or a team captain, nobody even knows you exist.

I'm not sure this one (probably drunk & almost certainly stupid) fan is a clear representation of the entire Chelsea fan base. Nonetheless, lets celebrate beating one of the worst Chelsea sides in recent memory (form not squad), and more importantly lets celebrate the return of Philippe Coutinho

No question he took time to fully recover from the real bad cruciate it's true. But that was what, 3/4 years back? He was also specifically kept back there the last few years down to trying to give the woeful defence as much protection as possible at all times.

But anyway, it's been a fantastic return to top form from a player that was as good as gone leading upto the close of the window. Long may it continue and one less position to worry about.

Didi Hamann was the same with a lot of our fans. People have rewritten their own history on him down to him completely changing the game in Istanbul and in so doing becoming an all time club legend. But there was a lot of dissenting voices prior to that on the Kaiser, who for me was the best signing along with Hyypia Houllier made. He just did his job and did it well.

Just not a flashy enough position for the TV camera's in particular to pick up on. Heard many a criticism of Lucas over his lack of goals. (Not sure if he's ever scored the league for us but don't quote me. I can remember two or three in Europe.). Mascherano was/ is a World Class DM, a far better all round player than Lucas. Who scored just as little and created just as few. Because it wasn't his job.

Didi <3

And yeah, Mascherano is the only guy I can come up with off the top of my head, who had a large cult following, without ever being in a media spotlight.

Ironically I think its down to him being so invisible, that he actually becomes very visible. He just reads the game so well, for most of the game you don't even acknowledge his existence, because he counters threats just by positioning. Then when he finally has to show up, its like he materializes out of thin air, in places where he has no right to be. And that's something even casual fans are going to notice.

People who criticise a DM for their lack of goals are about as silly as people who criticise number 10's for their work rate and ****** annoy me.

I seemed to remember he ran through on goal, rounded the keeper and slotted it into the empty net once. Was years ago. Everyone was shocked hahaha. Think that was a Prem game.

No real surprise it being Klopp. but the full first team, bar the obvious long term injured and Sturridge, has travelled to Kazan.

SO refreshing to finally be taking Europe real seriously again for the first time since Rafa.

I wouldn't be so sure just yet.. Look at the last game
