Yeah, I have feeling it'll be put out as an open contest pre-season, but barring a complete disaster from Karius, he'll be the one with the job to lose.

Be interesting to see who is in goal at Arsenal the opening game like.
 
Ruben Neves rumours resurfacing due to Porto's FFP troubles... Price of around 20mil euros being quoted.

Would be a great signing if any of it is true - seems FFP is the only possible reason they would let him go below his release clause

Never seen him play, but read a lot of different articles on him the past 8/9 months being as he's been linked to Klopp on and off right through. Everything reads great and he would appear to have all the attributes needed for a holding midfielder in what we do. What I can go on without ever seeing him in a game is the fact that he's got bags of experience for a 19 year old (75 appearances already for Porto, with 17 in Europe), along with being the youngest ever Portuguese player in the Champions League and the youngest ever player to captain a side in the Champions league. To have so much experience and to captain Porto already at such a young age speaks volumes and suggests all the glowing reports are true.

As always, if the crazy German wants him, that's all I need to know. Be great to get him on the cheap and at such a young age to still be able to mould him to what we want through coaching.

We'll see if anything comes of it. 2 months to run yet this window. I can see another 3 or 4 incomings and a lot going out the other way.

Believe it or not I think it's a good signing for them.

Slightly overpriced but in the right set-up Benteke will score goals. He will go down as a flop at Liverpool yet he was still our second highest goalscorer this season.

Money is going mental now anyway. 30million is not longer a big transfer and very rarely gets you a world class player like it used to

After the season he had paying practically what L'pool paid for him is not smart, a season that bad should affect your value. If they could get him for a bit less I would agree with you. When you take into account his wages he will be very expensive for Palace

If the market was still the same i would agree - but the new TV deal will have a huge impact on spending this summer

The deal is structured better than Liverpools as well to be fair. He'll have to be a strong success to make it £31m, which will suit Palace just fine.
 
I said i would not concern myself with Liverpool for two months this summer(due to personal matters) but... 31.5MIL FOR BENTEKE? ****.
