The latest test on our imperious march to #20 passed with flying colours. And with each passing test boxed, the belief that we can seriously win all 4 just increases by the passing game.

You could make a salient argument for Bournemouth being the best side in the Country at present after ourselves. Certainly the most vibrant and hard working. Everything Iraola does is attacking and front-foot. With an insane, physical high press that never stops working the full 90. They are one of the most enjoyable, fun, non-L’pool watches in the PL. Yesterday both doubled down on what a fantastic job Richard Hughes did there in both building a really good squad on a budget. (Christie and Cook yesterday’s standout example of that. Pace, power. Superb technical/ passing ability. A non-stop hunger to offer and support their teammates.). And in choosing such a front-foot manager. All of which reassures you even more he’s the perfect man for the job here and the similarities in what he’s started to build at Anfield. It was fantastic to hear Slot reaffirming just how highly he rates him on Friday. And just how hard they are both working together, on a daily basis, for the summer window. Both more than happy that the current squad, fully healthy as it almost is again, in February, is the best by far not only in England. But across all of Europe. It continues to be mad that the Internet know-nothings effectively call Arne a flat out liar, like they continually did Jurgen, and say he’s not been supported/ given the tools from the owners. But then if you add ‘YNWA’, or ‘I hope I’m wrong BUT …..’ at the end they think they can fool you into believing they care and support the club like you do. 🙄🙄🙄 But I digress …..

Bournemouth are an excellent side. Bournemouth were on a club record 11 game unbeaten run. Bournemouth had comfortably beaten Arsenal and City at home. And absolutely walloped Forest there last time out for 5. The rest of the top 4. But the rest of the top 4 aren’t Liverpool. And as good as Bournemouth are, Liverpool are just levels better in overall quality. And when that quality matches Bournemouth for their ridiculous work rate, they are beat before the game starts.

That was a proper ‘statement win’ to any poor souls left out there who still don’t believe in this side and who still madly think there's a title race. A thoroughly deserved 2-0 win from the champions elect. I thought that was our best first half yet under Slot. Utterly dominant. Limiting a free scoring Bournemouth side to next to nothing bar the wonderful Semenyo hitting the post from a tight angle. (Side note- Is there any footballer who gets more garbage than Trent when he has an off day? The loudest voices on-line say nadda his excellent run between Utd and yesterday. Yet one poor game, and they are all out in force calling for Bradley to see out the season ….. Bradley who got torn a new one in Europe through the week. Funny how they never jumped on that either. But had it been Trent …..). L’pool were defensively brilliant that first half. Limiting Bournemouth, like they did most all game, to next to no big chances to win the Xg battle by a decent margin again. Which was reflected in the final score line. In front at the half through a definite, if unfortunate, penalty, they battened down the hatches second half, as the home side inevitably came more at them, to see out the game comfortably. Bar the belter shot against the post/ Kluivert howler miss., and an outstanding Ally save late, you never once felt our goal would be breached.

Four quick standouts from a title winning away display-

Alisson. With each passing game, he continues to show why he’s still the undisputed best goalkeeper in the World. A calm dominance nobody outside of maybe Courtois exhibits consistently. Mad how some folk seriously wanted Kelleher, an excellent goalie in his own right, to remain in nets. Ally is our number 1 for a reason.

AndyRobbo. Can we stop the ‘finished’ talk already and just support the best left full to ever play for this club whilst he's still here? Ryan Christie was immense yesterday. Andrew Robertson was not only the best Scot on the park. He was up there as the games best player.

Ryan Gravenberch. Phenomenal work rate and football brain. Game after game. He should get the footballer of the year as well arguably the best player in the best team. But he won’t. Because of …..

Mo Salah. 5 seasons of 20 plus league goals. With only Shearer (7), Augero/ Kane (6), and Henry (5) matching him. Mo being the only non-striker on the list. Moving up to 6th all time in PL top scorers past Lampard ….. Nothing more to say than what hasn’t been said countless times already. One of L’pool’s and the PL’s GOAT footballers. If he isn’t clear already.

Right. Time for a brew and a relaxing Sunday. Honestly not bothered if Arsenal beat City later. They aren’t in our league and they aren’t coming close to stopping the inevitable celebrations in May.

Roll on Tottenham and the next leg of the quadruple assault in what is fixing to be a historical season of all seasons!

Up the MIGHTY Reds!

Absolutely buzzing for tonight and the biggest game of our season by far. Anfield will be wild as we defend our trophy and move a step closer the first leg of the quad and another final day out with the mighty Reds and all the boss memories from that money just can not buy.

‘Sings ‘We’re on the march with Arne’s Army ……’

Don’t have anything like the time this AM to pen my usual match missive. So a quick post to say what a sensational display last night. Well arguably our best 90 under Arne. From a team, like Feyenoord fans told us he would, that’s getting stronger and stronger the second half of the season. Those very calculated slow first halves conserving energy and working out the opposition are paying dividends in spades. A complete team performance back to front with Bradley and Darwin particularly outstanding. Tottenham were completely eviscerated.

All played out in front of a Wild Anfield. Tell 60 odd thousand in the ground, and the players celebrating like they’d just won the league at the end, that the League Cup doesn’t matter! 🤦‍♂️ ****** glad we chose to book trains and hotels on the way back from the first leg. The Lenny Henry has doubled in price on both the Sat’day and Sunday. And booking the trains out of Leeds is still gonna’ work out a heck of a lot cheaper as they’ve both massively jumped in price over the last two nights. And as soon as Avanti put the trains up from r’s they'll be well over priced too. .(They hadn’t as of yesterday as they’ve been patently waiting for us to ‘officially’ get the final to bump the prices up.). Final profiteering at its most disgraceful. 😡 Just have to put up with all the Geordie blerts down that line but that is what it is. Side note- If Wembley’s ever seen a more drunken final than us and them down there it will have done well haha.

Seeing the mighty Reds in yet another major final. With, hopefully, the memories you just cannot beat of them picking up silverware. Honestly, what more could you ever wish for as a supporter?

Keep telling us we haven’t got the squad. Keep teeling us we aren’t the best team in Europe. Never mind England. Keep telling us we aren’t on course for football immortality and a magnificent quadruple. And this group of historical Redmen will keep proving you all wrong game in, game out.

Onto Plymouth and the next leg of the quadruple assault.

Sings ‘We’re the greatest team in Europe and we’re going to Wem-ber-ley ……’

Up the trophy ravenous Reds!

I’ll put this up now as we aren’t due in until 1:40 AM. 🥱🥱 I’ll be too goosed come tomorrow morning. And I’m all ale’d out right now after all that was drunk coming down to drown my sorrows further. Let’s do this …..

So the quadruple attempt becomes another treble attempt after that absolute S/show from back to front today. Which all feels very 1984 and a FAR bigger shock than this when we went out to Brighton on the South Coast. Same round. Also on a Sunday. Terry Connor and all that. The second successive year a full strength Liverpool went out of the FA Cup to Brighton. 1983 was an even bigger shock as they won at Anfield. Jimbo coming home to score past us. So for all the absolute nonsense about Slot ‘Disrespecting the FA Cup/ Treating Plymouth lightly’ et al (Not sure how a side with 7 established, regular Internationals in it, along with an 8th off the bench, is showing any disrespect to anyone but yanno’ ….. ? 🤷‍♂️), Cup shocks happen to the very best of sides. Thats what makes this competition so endearing and STILL the single best knock-out cup competition in World football for me.

We were just completely off it in a horrendous display. The winner was fitting as that was a nonsense peno to give away from H. All credit going to Plymouth. They FULLY deserved the win for all the hard graft they put in. A very even game, but their work ethic and endeavour deserved it. All the best to them for the next round and survival. Savour your special day today. Moments and memories like these are what football support is ALL about. Congratulations Pilgrims.

I’m gutted as it’s the FA Cup and all that means every season to my City and the football club that represents us. But hey, S happens. And like 1984, we now go all out for another treble. I’m sat here typing this even more confident of beating Everton. Aside from the relentless mentality of this group to bounce straight back, Slot has NEVER lost back-to-back games of football in his managerial career. And that phenomenal record isn’t about to end this week!

Here’s hoping, that the injury to JMG isn’t serious. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻

And, with my Dallas hat on, Argyle are the only team in green winning today! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🪷

Right, I fibbed. Pass me a bottle. Exeter next stop. The next 6 hours or so will fly by …..

Up the down but FAR from deflated Reds!
