Guardiola: “Leroy says he doesn’t want to extend his contract. That means he’s going to leave.” Says Sane has rejected a new contract two or three times. That’s that, then

Guardiola on Sane: “If we find an agreement with a club he will leave this summer, if not he’ll stay another year and will leave at the end of his contract.”

It's so predictable.
Reduced to "fined £250,000 and off the hook".

It was expected though doesnt matter if what City done was wrong if the evidence obtained was done illegally. Which it was...

Following the hearing, the CAS Panel deliberated and concluded that the decision issued on 14 February 2020 by the Adjudicatory Chamber of the CFCB should be set aside and replaced by the following:
a.) MCFC has contravened Article 56 of the Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations.
b.) MCFC shall pay a fine of EUR 10,000,000 to the UEFA, within 30 days as from the date of issuance of the arbitral award.

The CAS award emphasized that most of the alleged breaches reported by the Adjudicatory Chamber of the CFCB were either not established or time-barred. As the charges with respect to any dishonest concealment of equity funding were clearly more significant violations than obstructing the CFCB’s investigations, it was not appropriate to impose a ban on participating in UEFA’s club competitions for MCFC’s failure to cooperate with the CFCB’s investigations alone.

Why should it matter if it happened 5 yrs ago or last season. Doing the wrong is doing the wrong!

CAS say that the accusations of fiddling sponsorship were “either not established or time barred.” Time barred, in this case, means that they happened more than five years ago and couldn’t be investigated/punished again

UEFA: 'UEFA notes that the CAS panel found that there was insufficient conclusive evidence to uphold all of the CFCB’s conclusions in this specific case and that many of the alleged breaches were time-barred due to the 5 year time period foreseen in the UEFA regulations.'

Which begs the question, on a terminal day for FFP, just what is the point of UEFA?
UEFA were embarrassed the moment they went after City for these infractions. How you imposing a ban on illegally obtained documents, doesnt matter whats in those documents. It wouldn't hold up in kangaroo court let alone CAS.

So again, just WHAT is the point of them?

The time bared thing is a farce. Oh yes we know you did wrong but because it was 5 or more years ago don’t worry about it. Wonder if this works in any other criminal law ??‍♂️

Yes, all of them. statute of limitations is very common. The time-barred period predates the settlement City already paid and dealt with in 2014.
