Man Utd take on Chelsea in the Community Shield, both Premier League jugganaughts will want to walk away with this trophy as will it show each clubs intentions for the upcoming campaign. Many think it will be a tight match, some even suggesting that they will match each other all the way until penalties where an eventual winner will be decided.
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelloti said “I know it will be a great match as both teams have a vast history in winning this cup. I have no doubts over my team and expect them to walk away with the win”
It will be Ancelotti’s first competitive match in Charge of the London club and he will want to start his reign with a win.
Likewise it will be Man Utd manager Tobey Mason’s first competitive game in charge of the Red Devils. Mason stated that he “will be pinching himself during the match as he never dreamed that he would be in the position he is in now” Rio Ferdinand added that “there is almost a gargantuan rivalry between the two clubs but both will be respecting each other and enjoying the celebrated run out”
Deco (27), Silva (Pen 12), Beattie, Marquinhos (64)
A world class performance by the Red Devils as everything just came together for them in a match which will have impressed the Man Utd fans.
Mason said that all the “training and hard work had paid off” and he that was “delighted” with David Silva’s performance. Silva had nerves of steel to score from the spot after being taken down by Mikel in the box. Deco equalised 15 minutes later after some good play by Chelsea. James Beattie scored a powerful header from a good cross by Ronaldo and Marquinhos scored the last goal after some clever dribbling.
Both managers will look forward to the season ahead hoping their team can go all the way. Carlo Ancelloti will already be planning how to extract some revenge while Mason will revel in praise for
who cares if you're lacking at the back mate! kaka, messi, rooney, ronaldo, aguero, silva one of these players should at least create/score at least a goal a game lol. good luck
Another Premier League season dawns as both managers and players wake up this morning with the sense of excitement rumbling around inside. Fans will be travelling all over to watch their team play, packing up their cars, hoping on trains or catching buses and coaches. The sun will glisten off every shiny surface of each individual stadium, the mascots will be over energetic as usual and the sense of belief surrounding each club will be at its strongest.
Man Utd Manager Tobey Mason wearing a “Dolce and Gabbana” suit spoke to reporters after his pre-match meal inside Old Trafford...
He said that he just wants to get the “first match over and done with as it’s the first hurdle of a long and strenuous season”. He also said that he hopes to “ease the fans anxiety” with a good result against Wolves today. “Anything other than a win today and the fans won’t be giving me much hope” Mason added. He then left the impromptu interview to see to his team as the match neared the start.
Tobey Mason can breathe a huge sigh of relief after watching his team comfortably beat Wolves today. Man Utd dominated and took control from a Marquinhos shot just before halftime and another just after halftime. Elokobi compounded the Wolves fans misery by heading past his own keeper, Castillo scored a consolation.
This age old derby failed to impress as a ‘gutless’ Liverpool side turned up at Old Trafford. Pulling out of nearly every tackle it seemed Liverpool didn’t want to get their hands dirty. Ronaldo took advantage of this and scored two quick goals. The only highlight for Liverpool was that Man Utd didn't score more as they didn’t take their chances.
Fratton Park witnessed Marquinhos turn from an unknown Brazilian boy to a Samba Superstar. He earned himself two gaols and laid one on aswel. Ferdinand carried the team defensively, not that there was much to do but when there was, it was easily dealt with by the iconic vice captain. Portsmouth are favourites for the drop.
OVERVIEW
With only 3 league games being played this August Man Utd should be happy with their results. With a unsuspected easy match against Liverpool Man Utd have reached top spot in the League but only on goal difference though. View attachment 31445
Tottenham, Stoke and Man City have all kept up at the top and will happily dislodge the Red Devils if they can. Stoke probably the surprise package at the moment, beating both Chelsea and Aston Villa. Arsenal drew with Hull to slip down to 6th and Chelsea are 12th due to a dismal start.
With Manchester United occupying top spot at the moment the rest of the league will be watching to see if the pressure gets to the club. With the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool slipping up Man Utd still can’t afford to relax because a flourish of bad performances could see the league standings change dramatically.
Marquinhos who won player of the month for August will be looking to recapture the form he was in and carry it on from last month. Many fans are now touting him as something to look out for not just for the future but for this season too. Nicolás Lodeiro has been promised more first team outings by Mason and will want to impress his manager, especially with the likes of Kaká and Silva waiting to make the AM position their own.
Mason, Fergie and Redknapp all have a wager on who can score the most goals this season. Mason has chosen Dzeko, Fergie chose Rooney and Redknapp has chosen Villa. The losers have to wear a pair of “Red” Devil horns onto the sidelines for next years opening match of the season.

This result shows why, there is no defence to combat an oppositions strike force. Man Utd all too easily skipping past them to score, like a hot knife through butter. Mason however was seen grinning ear to ear and doing a little jig on the sidelines.

Man Utd again relied on a late Vidic header to claim the 3 points. Afterwards a dejected Roberto Martinez said that he felt his side had “deserved something from the game” but conceded that a football match is 90 minutes not 88 or 89 minutes.

Prague were quite content to let the Man Utd players have pretty much all the possession. Beattie was instrumental scoring his own goal and setting up a further 3 more. It looks like we all might be eating our words as we must have missed something Mason saw in his new striker.

Man Utd 2 V 0 Birmingham - Beattie, Villa View attachment 31560 Old Trafford played host to Birmingham who travel to Manchester unbeaten in 3 games. It’s a shame it only took 3 minutes to unlock their defence as Beattie scored from a good pass from Messi. David Villa then popped up just before half time to make it 2. Old Trafford roared and sent the away team home with their tales between their legs.

Blackburn 1 V 3 Man Utd - Pederson, Rooney, Ronaldinho, Marquinhos View attachment 31561 Sam Allardyce and Tobey Mason were seen scoffing a few pasties before the match as both relaxed in each others company. These two friends have an unlikely friendship as Mason called on Allardyce for help when he had a flat tyre near the Blackburn managers house one day. Man Utd took control once again, Rooney this time credited with praise by the fans.

Man Utd 3 V 1 Juventus - Ronaldo(2), Messi,Camoranesi View attachment 31565View attachment 31576 Man Utd Manager Tobey Mason’s biggest test of his short career was indeed his biggest win aswel. Ronaldo bagging two goals an assist and a man of the match performance. The Turin club looked stunned by this new look Man Utd, they will have to go back to the drawing board if they are to get anything from the return fixture.
Tobey Mason decided to spice things up this year with a competition between himself Alex Ferguson and Harry Redknapp. Each has to pick who they think will score the most goals this season for the club. Mason really is a master of team bonding as his team have gelled together and look like they’ve played together for years
The bets look like this…
Mason - Dzeko Fergie - Rooney Redknapp - Villa
Mason jokingly said that he was going to “send both Villa and Rooney to the reserves” and “play Dzeko in every match now until the end of the season“.
The forfeit is something no man will want to have to do as the two losers have to wear “Red Devil” horns out on the touchline for next season opening game.

Veloso-Good View attachment 31569 Portuguese starlet Miguel Veloso has been picked out by Man Utd manager Tobey Mason for some praise. Mason said “Miguel has a very good future in front of him, I know this club will bring out the best in him and at only 23 he will improve”.
Veloso himself stated that he was ‘happy’ to receive the praise but informed Mason that he ’will’ get better. He also went on to say that although there is a “friendly rivalry” between himself and other defensive midfielder Vincent Kompany it was nice to play regular football.
Season So Far Manchester United had a fine month again this month, the win at Arsenal really propelled them into a euphoric mood. Scoring 5 at the Emirates must really feel good for everybody at the club. Arsene Wenger didn’t look happy on the sidelines kicking anything that crossed his path, bottles, bags and even the advertising boards which earned him a trip to the stands and the full vocal talent of the Man Utd contingent. The song being sung was “Don’t look back at Wenger”
The champions League must be in the back of Masons head as he has recorded two terrific results against Slavia Prague and Juventus. Mason must feel like his team can play anyone and get the win.
