Man Utd 3 V 0 Chelsea - Lodeiro(2), Marquinhos
View attachment 33107View attachment 33097

Carlo Ancelloti must be glad he doesn’t have to play the Red Devils every week. He has never recorded a win against Chelsea’s red rivals. His frustration must have been at boiling point but the well mannered manager kept it inside and was gracious enough to shake Masons hand and embrace him after the final whistle had gone. Lodeiro scored two fantastic goals to earn man of the match.

05/12/09

Bolton 0 V 1 Man Utd - Lodeiro

View attachment 33095

Tobey Mason must be thrilled he gave young Nicolás Lodeiro the chance to shine. With a string of good performances already under his belt he scored the winner in this dogged display. Pouring down with rain and both teams seemingly uninterested, Lodeiro shone through and again won the man of the match award.

09/12/09

Juventus 1 V 1 Man Utd - Iaquinta, Villa

View attachment 33100View attachment 33103

A trip away to Italy for the Red Devils who by now should be getting used to travelling abroad. Unfortunately for Man Utd, Juventus were stronger than they were in their first encounter a couple of months back. Iaquinta scoring from an acute angle with a low strike and then Villa powering in the equaliser which ensured this match ended in a draw.

12/12/09

Man Utd 3 V 0 Aston Villa - Marquinhos(3)

View attachment 33104

If Marquinhos hadn’t already proved his worth to Man Utd he did after this match, a superb hattrick and an overall fantastic performance. Mason was seen again dancing the ‘jig’ but cut it short to celebrate with his samba star. With Aston Villa punching above their weight in the league sitting 3rd, perhaps this performance will be a reality check.

15/12/09

Burnley 1 V 3 Man Utd - Pocognoli, Santon, Beattie, Babacar

View attachment 33096

Burnley really weren’t looking forward to this match after a series of bad performances. Nevertheless they gave it there all but by the 12th minute they were already 1-0 down. Davide Santon scoring a screamer from outside the box. By the 21st minute it was practically over as Beattie powered home a strong header. Pocognoli added a consolation but to no avail.

20/12/09

Man Utd 2 V 1 Chelsea - Veloso, Young, Suárez

View attachment 33107

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti recently vowed to beat Man Utd at Old Trafford, he said he “knew the Red Devils weakness”. Nothing came of this statement and the journalist had a field day with this saying that he was “all talk“. His Chelsea career has come under scrutiny too and the Chelsea fans are losing patience with him.

23/12/09

Hull 1 V 3 Man Utd - Geovanni, Villa, Dzeko, Ronaldo
View attachment 33099

Hull City have been enjoying an ok season, they should stay up which was their main aim this year. Geovanni however got them off to a flyer with a great freekick. The Man Utd squad never felt threatened though and calmly played the waiting game. Villa and Dzeko working well to score a goal each and Ronaldo's freekick ended the contest.

28/12/09

Wolves 2 V 4 Man Utd - Kightly, Milijas, Ronaldo, Silva(3)

View attachment 33101

Wolves who are favourites to go down nearly toppled Man Utd who looked complacent within the first half. At 2-0 Mason must have given his team the hairdryer treatment as in the second half there was barely a mistake by a player in red stripes. David Silva came back out and scored a wonderful hattrick.

30/12/09

Man Utd 5 V 1 Arsenal - Villa(2), Ronaldinho, Agüero, Babacar, Van Persie

View attachment 33108

A gruesome result for any Arsenal fan to see but Man Utd really showed some class at times. Youngster Khouma Babacar who is regarded as having a bright future scored the 5th goal and will have been over the moon with his performance. Ronaldinho played well and fed Villa for his two goals before getting one himself.

Man Utd Christmas Party Makes Headlines
View attachment 33109

The Man Utd players and staff all gathered at Carrington to swap secret Santa presents just before Christmas. The smiles on their faces showed they were having a great time. Some of the presents included were Ronaldo receiving some fake tan, Rooney taking home some hair clippers, Mason was given some dance lessons and Ferguson a pipe and slippers.

After the hi-jinks at Carrington the squad descended into Manchester town centre. All players and their respected partners enjoying the frolics of a deserved night out. The night out even made the headlines as David Silva and David Villa bought everybody in the nightclub their drinks. They then proceeded to sing on a karaoke machine and said they wished Mason was there to perform his ’Jig’. Then out of no-where the obviously planned stunt came together as Mason appeared and performed the infamous dance in front of a cheering crowd.

Nicolás Lodeiro has been pictured with Lilly Allen on several occasions this month even inviting her out to Man Utd’s Christmas party. They were also pictured leaving a restaurant holding hands and deep in conversation. The loved up couple even posed for pictures but said they were just “good friends“. Lilly’s representatives told the media "Lilly and Nicolás are just enjoying each others company they are both fully concentrating on their careers and won’t let their ’friendship’ get in the way of their “important” working commitments".

Season So Far

After the busy festive period Man Utd have taken maximum points from all their league games. It would take something catastrophic to remove them from the top of the table, but this is football and anything can happen.

In the Champions League the Red Devils matched Juventus all the way, they fought tooth and nail for the victory but were denied by a strong if not stronger opponent in the form of the Turin club. Man Utd manager Tobey Mason has also said that although he is "pleased" the club is in all the competitions left, he is now finding it “hard to rest players” as “most of them are suffering from fatigue“.

The Christmas party was a huge success and all the players were seen in a good light and as role models. There were no drunken moments to bring the club into distribute, unlike within the Man City ranks where Emmanuel Adebayor was arrested for a drunken fracas with Craig Bellamy.

The purchase of Alexis Sanchez will be made in January for £19million and Junior Stanislas for a cool £6.25million. With Manson bolstering his squad the speculation about players leaving has emerged. Some even think a striker maybe sold with possibly Agüero or Rooney leaving due to the lack of first team appearances. Mason was quick to state however “Man Utd are not a selling club we have a routine where all our players play, they are happy with that and if they aren’t and tell ME they aren't we will see what we can do to resolve things.

Thanx ryangiggs11 I just like to play with my fav players then get the youngsters into the team. On FM09 I did the same then took over Hull in the championship I poached all my youngsters from Man Utd and in the year 2017 Hull were terrific i'll probably do the same this year. But probably with Southampton.

Blackpool 0 V 3 Man Utd - Babacar(2), Kompany
View attachment 33782View attachment 35323

Man Utd’s F.A Cup run starts off with an away trip to Blackpool, with an easy win expected Mason fielded a weaker team. Taking his chance to shine Khouma Babacar scored two goals skipping past the defence and blasting home from close range on both occasions‘. Vincent Kompany also powered home a third late in the second half.

06/01/10

Man City 2 V 3 Man Utd - Tevez, Wright-Phillips, Dzeko(2), Femenia
View attachment 33785View attachment 33783

A fantastic day for Man Utd fans as they proved they are still the team to beat in Manchester. It was a glorious day for ‘Kiko’ Femenia as he scored in his first Manchester derby. Edin Dzeko however ran the show scoring what proved to be the winning goal. Carlos Tevez got a lot of stick from the Red Devils fans and was caught making a rude gesture at them

10/01/10

Liverpool 2 V 1 Man Utd - Benayoun(2), Rooney
View attachment 33794

This day will be remembered not just for an incredible Liverpool performance but the day Mason became human. It was indeed his first loss in charge of the Red Devils. He looked understandably upset and frustrated but Liverpool produced a stunning display. There was no handshake from Mason to Benitez as he walked straight past him and down the tunnel.

16/01/10

Man Utd 0 V 0 Portsmouth -
View attachment 33796

Man Utd’s loss to Liverpool seemed to rock the squad as there was no cohesion between the players today. Portsmouth took advantage, having plenty more possession than Man Utd but not finding the end result. Mason again looked visibly upset but at least shaking Avram Grants hand afterwards.

View attachment 33784View attachment 33783

Man Utd got back on track with a win in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final against there ‘noisy neighbours’ Man City. Rooney played and scored a blinder from at least 40yards out, he then went on to deliver the pass for Vidic to score the goal that ended the contest.

24/01/10

Man Utd 0 V 0 Wigan -
View attachment 33787View attachment 35323

F.A Cup day and there was no sign of Mason’s infamous ‘jig’ as another poor performance by Man Utd means they will have to go to Wigan to further themself in the in this competition. A downhearted Mason said that he thought his players were “coping well with fatigue and that they will be back to their best soon“.

27/01/10

Man Utd 3 V 0 Wigan - Rooney, Gerrard, Lodeiro
View attachment 33787

An overdue win for Man Utd’s high standards as they recorded a good win and sounded out that their title ambition is in full swing again. Mason even bought back out that infamous ‘jig’ which had been kept at bay for so long. Gerrard scored from a freekick and Lodeiro scored a volley from inside the box.

31/01/10

Birmingham 0 V 2 Man Utd - Marquinhos, Beattie
View attachment 33797

James Beattie the forgotten man at Man Utd scored and ended a goal drought that stretched to over five games. He was so excited that he threw his shirt into the crowd, it took about 10 minutes to get a new one from the locker room resulting in a yellow card. Marquinhos also scored but was more reserved with his celebration just running over to the fans.

JANUARY OVERVIEW

Mason V Benitez
View attachment 33792

Things intensified between Rafa Benitez and Tobey Mason when Man Utd travelled to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Premiership. Mason blatantly ignored Benitez after the full time whistle had gone, instead he just walked down the tunnel without giving the end of the match handshake to show good sporting etiquette.

Benitez later said that he thought it was “disrespectful and childlike” saying “A grown man should be able to at least give a handshake even if he doesn’t get on with an individual. Managers like Mason set a bad example and should think about their actions I’m extremely disappointed”.

Mason reacted angrily saying “Rafa can say what he likes, it’s common knowledge we don’t get on after he thought it was his business to comment on how I celebrate my team winning a match. I didn’t shake his hand because I am not a hypocrite, I won’t pretend to like someone if I don’t. People should admire me for sticking to my beliefs and not *****-footing around. If Rafa thinks I’ve disappointed him he should look again as he instead should be disappointed with himself” I would also like to add Liverpool deserved to win against us and this is not resentment due to our loss”

View attachment 33795

Man Utd were expected to make some signings this month and duly delivered. £19million Alexis Sanchez was bought from Udinese and £6.25million Junior Stanislas (West Ham) arrived shortly after.

Alexis Sanchez has been tipped to be a future star by many people and will be looking to blossom under Mason at Man Utd. Stanislas another player with potential will be looking to work his way up at the club, most likely going out on loan for a while to get some first team experience.

Both transfers see Man Utd bolster their squad but with no-one leaving is there really room for all these stars, Only time will tell.

Season So Far

Man Utd will be disappointed this month as many of their ‘star’ players just disappeared when they were needed most, in games they were expected to win some players just they just didn’t turn up in the right mind frame. Mason will have to address these issues in the next team meeting.

Wayne Rooney said that “Although we are still top of the table, for the first time this season we are vulnerable, we always new we weren’t invincible but now we really are on the back foot and other teams will try to take advantage of this situation“.

Mason will be sweating buckets if Man Utd lose their next game as the title race will be blown wide open again. Mason has said he will “talk to each individual player to see how they are coping and if they are suffering from fatigue or low morale” for the second time this season the Man Utd camp will have a relaxation day at a spa.

Wigan 1 V 4 Man Utd - N’Zogbia, Terry, Marquinhos, Dzeko, Gerrard

View attachment 35292View attachment 35336

Wigan looked jaded and unenthused for this match, Charles N’Zogbia the only player to make an impact scoring their only goal. Man Utd controlled the match from the offset, John Terry again led the team out and performed like a wild beast tackling like a bulldozer and scoring a superb header.

06/02/10

Man Utd 1 V 0 Blackburn - Terry

View attachment 35293

A distinctly dull match with just the one goal being scored by John Terry. Sam Allardyce and Tobey Mason enjoyed some pre-match banter and wished each other luck before the match. After the match Mason even invited Allardyce into his office for a glass of wine.

09/02/10

Fulham 1 V 1 Man Utd - Nevland, Sánchez

View attachment 35288

Craven Cottage was brimming with people as the Cottagers attempted to take a huge scalp today and send the Red Devils packing back to Manchester empty handed. They almost did it aswel but unlikely for them Sánchez was in a good position to score an equaliser late on.

12/02/10

Reading 0 V 2 Man Utd - Beattie, Sánchez

View attachment 35289View attachment 35336

F.A cup action again and with Man Utd among the front runners to win the competition they will be happy with the result. James Beattie scoring a well timed goal and Sánchez proving that he should have a good future at the club by scoring an overhead kick which never looked like going in.

17/02/10

Stuttgart 0 V 1 Man Utd - Kaká(Pen)
View attachment 35294View attachment 35316

A tough match today In the first match of the Knockout Rounds in the Champions League. Kaká was instrumental gearing up the squad and proving that his class can never be second, as he really is a deserved world class player. Subbed in the 85th minute to a standing ovation.

21/02/10

Man Utd 5 V 0 Stoke - Agüero(2), Terry(2), Lodeiro

View attachment 35290

Man Utd blitzed past a peculiarly weak Stoke side, Stoke were even criticised for resting players with the match against Hull on the weekend seemingly more important and winnable. Mason ignored this though and said “I don’t care who a manager picks as long as my team can win the matches it doesn’t matter“.

25/02/10

West Ham 0 V 3 Man Utd - Schneiderlin, Dzeko, Lodeiro

View attachment 35291

Morgan Schneiderlin performed very well, strong at the back and also showed us his agility by weaving through players so he could pass a killer ball. Scored his goal well as he dribbled past a defender and unleashed a rocket into the net. Lodeiro also scored a beauty smashing home from 25yards out.

View attachment 35295LEAGUE CUP FINALView attachment 35295

31/02/10

Man Utd manager Tobey Mason has the chance to win his first piece of silverware today. He will be extremely happy with his side reaching this competitions final but will be keeping an eye on players fatigue. Liverpool who recently beat Man Utd in their last encounter will fancy their chances today.

It’s expected that the war of words will continue between both managers and don’t expect the animosity to stop there as this will be a high octane match driven by the fans desire to win so it’s likely to see ref handing out a few cards as the players give it their all to win it.

Mason has stated that he is “desperate” to win this trophy saying it has always been one of his “favourites” and winning it would be a “dream come true“. Benitez also declared his “admiration” for the cup saying that “whoever wins the final each season usually ends up enjoying an enthralling end of the season“.

GOALS

Kuyt (13),
Benayoun (16) Sánchez (49,104), Marquinhos (47)

Remember this day as the start of a long successful, trophy enriched career for Tobey Mason who’s side may have just sneaked the win but played better and outclassed Liverpool. Alexis Sánchez scored two fantastic goals and Marquinhos lobbed the keeper to make it three. Man Utd winger Ashley Young won the match for them though, setting up all three goals and hitting the bar twice aswel.

Rafa Benitez was quick to question Mason on his win today saying that the Man Utd boss “had all the luck” and that if “Liverpool had the same amount” of luck they’d of “won it” on the day.

Mason responded by asking the reporter if Rafa Benitez was “full up from his sour grapes” he added that “if Benitez thinks we won merely by luck he really should change his glasses. We outplayed Liverpool and won the cup deservedly so. I have no idea why Rafa thinks luck won it for us, maybe he doesn’t have an excuse for the loss”

Ashley Young who picked up his man of the match award after the match said that “all the lads wanted to win this for the gaffer. "He really is someone we all want to win games for". Personally I think we played really well, I just wish the goal frame was an inch taller, but that’s football“.

Can You Be-league It, Not Again!

It wouldn’t be Man Utd versus Liverpool without Mason or Benitez having a pop at each other. Both managers again couldn’t say a nice word about the other. There again was no handshake between either manager and both could barely be on the touchline together. If things carry on this way the F.A have said they will get involved as their petty fall out does not set a good example to anyone.

I Want To Stay For-Evra And Evra
View attachment 35312

Patrice Evra today announced that he wants to sign a contract with the Red Devils so he can end his career there. He stated that his love for the fans, the city and his colleagues all add to his bond with the club.

Mason has responded in a positive manner saying that "any player with Evra’s quality would be allowed to stay at the club". He feels Evra has been one of his “most consistent players so far this year” and he will “definitely start laying out plans for an extension to his contract“.

Nemanja Vidic added that he too feels “very happy at the club” and that himself and Evra are “very close friends“. They both joined the club at the same time and struck up a friendship. Both live near to each other and are often spotted out enjoying time together and in the company of each others families.

Season So Far

So with one trophy won already Mason has three more to try and get his hands on. It won’t be easy especially at this point in the season. Players will already be looking ahead to the World Cup which is only months away, they will want to stay fresh and avoid too much fatigue. Mason however has enough depth in his squad to hopefully avoid burnout.

Man Utd’s youngsters are doing incredibly well, Both Reserve and Under 18 squads sit atop of the respected league tables. Iker Muniain, Romelu Lukaku, Rafael Toloí, Marco Ezio Fossati and Marco Veratti particularly impressing. “Most of my younger players will go out on loan next season to gain more experience” Mason said in an interview recently.

Man Utd have the title already in their grasp and it is theirs to throw away now. They need to avoid stupid mistakes and keep up their consistency, if they lose ground now it could turn out to be an embarrassing season after all, especially after such a great start to the current campaign.

March

It’s time people started facing the inevitable because it looks like Man Utd have the title wrapped up already. Only a major loss in form and an embarrassing string of matches can prevent them claiming the title (Mason’s first).

Man Utd have a 1-1 aggregate score with Stuttgart at the moment and will be favourites to go through as they play the next fixture at home. Mason really is enjoying a good Champions League run and could even find himself lifting another trophy, the grandest of them all at the end of the season.

James Beattie has said that the “whole team is up for the trials and tribulations the end of the season run in will offer” and that they “will strive to help the club win more trophies“.

Sales have been going through the roof and replica shirts have flown out of the stores. The three most popular being…

Man Utd manager Tobey Mason praised Edin Dzeko for his "supreme ability to turn on the magic when it's needed". With the Red Devils seeminly staring another bore draw in the face, Dzeko took matters into his own hands and scored a powerful header into the top right.

Sunderland would have been hoping for something this match. Often regarded of a bogey team of Man Utd's, Sunderland simply fell apart at the seams this match. Ferdinand scoring a freak goal as the ball bounced off his back from a corner and passed over the line.

Just like two years ago the champions League has thrown Man Utd and Chelsea together for another mouth watering tie. With both jugganaughts expecting to win on aggregate it’s Man Utd that have the advantage as they own a comfortable lead at 2-0. The tie is Man Utd’s to lose and all eyes in Europe will be watching this match.

MARCH OVERVIEW

Terry Under Pressure
View attachment 35579

John Terry has had a hard time of late, it has emerged that he has had an affair with an England team mates ex-girlfriend. It was reported that he got her pregnant and the asked her to abort the baby. Of course all the tabloids have jumped in on it and have stuck their claws in to make sure Terry's name gets dragged through the mud as much as possible.

Mason commented on the situation and passionately defended his captain. “Firstly who’s business is it anyway other than Johns and the people effected directly. John is my captain and will remain so until either him or myself think he should step down. John like all of us is only human and we all make mistakes, who can honestly look me in the eye and say ‘they haven’t made a mistake’. It sickens me that the press act like vultures fantasising and exaggerating stories that could potentially ruin a very talented mans career“. Mason was speaking at an impromptu interview during his teams training session.

England manager Fabio Capello has recently addressed the situation and regrettably has dropped Terry as captain of England. Capello spoke out after making his decision. “This matter is closed now and we want to move on and press on with our plans for the upcoming World Cup”

Ronaldo The New Face Of Dolce & Gabbana

View attachment 35578

With Dolce and Gabbana chiefs still looking for a way to link both the club and their brand together they have just made their first steps in doing so by using Cristiano Ronaldo in a Dolce and Gabbana snippet in their monthly magazine.

Ronaldo was said to be pleased as he was now representing not just his club but now the sponsors on the shirt too. He was proud to be selected over his peers and was given a little applause when it was announced in the dressing room.

Dolce and Gabbana representative Guy Groves said “It is excellent to have Cristiano on board. He has an excellent physic and will hopefully sell us many products. We and the Man Utd chiefs will also brainstorm more ideas for the future… just make sure you’re watching this space“.
