The Manchester United Thread

Herrera is well capable of playing simple passes but it would be too boring as we have Blind to do that. Herrera is fantastic player and should play every single game.
You're wrong there. There's plenty of times where Herrera gave the ball away needlessly and caused United some problem. Same problem have both Di Maria and Rooney. You see that rarely from Blind and Carrick. However Herrera brings other things that both Blind and Carrick simply can't do. If he's on top of his game, yes, he should start every game.

Wrong about what? Herrera is capable of playing simple risk free passing game if asked to do so but that's not his role. That's for Blind and Carrick. Herrera's passing is very good, not Fabregasesque good but it's good for PL level. He gives away possession with lapse of concentration or trying to open up defense too often but that's what I love from midfielders, having balls to play risky passes now and then.

Keane must still be ****** fergie dominated his arsenal side for years, bitter man he is.

His Bilbao's pass completion stats were pretty good.

Wrong about his passing. His passing ability was always a decent. Heck, in Spain they were saying his passing was poor. I like when midfielders are taking risks as well, but there's time and place for that, and most importantly, being able to execute the right pass. That's whats so frustrating about Di Maria. His consistency in passing. Anyway, I'm way to tiered to really care about this. My opinion is simple, without Mata and one of Blind/Carrick, Herrera and Di Maria is really unbalanced. However, if you play Mata, then other things might now work. It's a ******* nightmare :D

Never sure with stats, our defenders probably have high ones but it's not hard passing it 5 or 10 yards sideways, unless you're falcao.....

4-4-2/4-4-1-1 with pacey wingers looked better. Falcao should be shipped back to Monaco 1st class, he might still be getting over a big injury but there's no room for sentiment. Di Maria much better on the wing. We need a ball winner in midfield to drive us. Phil Jones until end of the season?

Again I'll have to say, statistic is like a bikini. Shows plenty, hides most important things. No one said he can't pass, just his passing can be suspect at the times. And if that happens, then United have even more problems.

Looks like Rooney as lone striker with 2 winger is the way forward. Looked better once Falcao was off.

Imagine that formation and getting depay and having him, januzaj, di maria and young to choose from not bad at all.

Yeah, that makes sense. What Herrera and Di Maria offer in CM is pretty similar. Energy, work rate, reasonably good short range passing and always looking to take risks to try and open up opposition's defense. Di Maria should be put out wide, for the Herrera to have starting place in the side, and then midfield can be patched up with Blind and Fellaini. Fellaini deserves to be a starter for that matter, he's always excellent and offers something different upfront.
