Great news for Gary. I wish him all the luck. But that's a weird one. Specially when yesterday everyone thought Phil would get the job.

Also no more commentary by Gary. Sad day :(

Wish him all the best.
will be interesting to see if he can transfer his knowledge back onto the pitch.

If he does well, then he has a real dilemma on his hands in a good way, England or Manchester United. Long way to go before that though, and its an incredibly difficult job. Valencia and the fans are in many ways reflective of Liverpool: strong history, proud club, demanding fans whose views of where the club should be don't always marry up with where the club should realistically be. Tough to work in.

I think he will opt for ManUtd job if it's a realistic choice. I have no doubt in my mind, for Neville ManUtd is far higher than England.

Hopefully he will do a great job at Valencia. Would love to see him back at United as manager.

So Rojo has dislocated his shoulder and is meant to be out for weeks. Injury crisis beckoning to happen?

If smallings gets injured...we're so ******....

Van Gaal doubtless never would, but Darmian is equally adept at centre half as FB. Which given his bizarre want for playing wingers there wouldn't disrupt him too much. McNair's another one that really impressed me last year. Wouldn't be too worried if he had to step in if I were you going off that.

Think He's played just over half the fixtures so far and He scored against Monaco.

The cynic in me thinks LVG is dropping Rooney, without the ignominy of actually admitting He's dropping him.

Fellaini starting, someone on reddit had a good theory that its because of the weather.

Rooney is missing today and violá, I'm pretty much impressed so far...even with Fellaini as #10.

What a difference it makes to have a #10 who can first touch a ball without superglue on boots.
