He's dropping Rooney because Rooney isn't performing in a role LVG forces him to play. That suggests the problem is LVG, not Rooney.

Don't be ridiculous. Van Gaal didn't make Rooney have a first touch of a concrete wall. Look at how much of an impact Fellaini is making just by being able to actually control the ball and pass it to the nearest guy.
 
If this is another nil all draw I'm sticking to Boxing and Ice Hockey.

I mean, Rooney has been pretty poor the past few months. You can't blame LVG for Rooneys lack of form. He's basically doing the same role he did under Fergie.

Also nice move by Depay from the wing, haven't seen that in a while.
 
Not as bad as previous 0-0's. Obviously not acceptable, but we could have scored 2-3 goals with a little bit more composure. For how many United games can we say such thing? Other side of the medal, McNair was terrible. Jesus, haven't seen a defender so bad in a while. Hopefully its just one game.
 
Fun game. Plenty of action and chances for both teams. 0-0 aside, United's the attacking play looked half decent at times.

Also, great sub by Memphis.

It's one game...he had an awful game at Saint's mary last season but he bounced back

Dat low cross in the 2nd half that no one attacked infuriated me so much

It's like the players gave up on him crossing
