Yeah, thats actually nonsense though. The side is genuinely very good at defending. It's upping the tempo that's the issue.

Nonsense. Plenty of teams set up to defend and still do it poorly. Setting a team up well is an art unto itself.
And let's put it into context. We gave it a good go and could easily have won today, we're out because of the games before, not this one.
Some managers are just like that. Benitez didn't even smile when we went 8-0 up against Besiktas.
PSV at home was the killer for us, we've not offered enough going forward in most games, but especially that one.
Mostly jesting obvious you know we never really have 99% and i agree on the second part, the PSV games killed us.

What are you talking about? Moyes got us to 7th, like he did with Everton. Van Gaal got us back into the champions league last season after clearing up a terrible team, and now he's making us challenge for the title. out of the champions league but Ferguson also went out at the group stage.

I think we'll revert back to how we have been and the lack of goals is always going to be an issue when you don't have a proven goalscorer in your team. Relying on a 20 year old up front to deliver week in week out is always going to be risky.
But then again it's not like we're creating much in most games either, which is another issue in itself.
