The Manchester United Thread

Never quite understood that.

I mean yers always are quick to say we've never won the PL, so surely it should be 13 on that basis and not 20 right? *Smiles.

I dont mind that. 13 Premierships to 0. 2 Champions league's to 1. Stick your 5 times up your **** haha :)

Winning the FA Cup is a big deal to me, we've not had it in 12 years.....

I'm exactly the same if we've gone a gap between trophys. I then desperately want to win that one again haha.

Anyway, being as quite a few from here wished L'pool good luck in Basle, we'd be remiss to not return that for Utd tomorrow.

Can't say I'll be cheering for you at all, smiles, but good luck. Here's to a great final with no injuries and no trouble.

If I wasn't laughing and didn't like yers, I'd ask just how fricking poor were yuse the first 100 years or so of this league but I am laughing so I won't. :)

Yeh thats it. So we had a parade for 19 coz it broke the record. One for 20 probably coz it was Fergies last. Did we do any for 18..17..16.......... Not sure that we did

We did. I remember we had one in 2008-09 season, we had poor turn out as it was after we lost CL finals and it was rainy day. Also 2007-08 we were double winners so there must be.

Well yeh thats the point. It was organised incase we won the Champions League. If we hadn't have won the Premiership aswell the parade would have been scrapped. Same with 08. The parade was more about the Champions League.

Parade is a must. How else we get to experience **** like this:

In all my years as a united fan, I've never been less arsed about a cup final.

The season has been an utter disaster. Getting ko'd from the UCL group stages when I expected us to reach the QFs. Getting ko'd in the Europa by Liverpool, finishing 5th, 18th in the league in terms of chances created, breaking some abhorrent records and most importantly, playing wank football for majority of the season.

Winning the FA cup shouldnt even warrant an after-game celebration much less a parade and LVG should be sacked right on the spot.

Who cares about a tin pot FA cup?

Presuming that was a serious post and you're not just being facetious, why are you even a fan?

Serious question. You've won nottin' for three years. This is your chance to get something memorable out of this season. There's only three domestic trophy's you can win every year. Why are you even a fan if you don't want to win silverware?

Regardless of how bad the rest of the years been, this is the Cup final. How can you not be excited about that?

A little accident in the 50's was the reason for that. We would have dominated in the league and in Europe for quite a few years. But thats a different story lol

Only three? Forgetting the fourth place trophy?

Bit of a bombshell from Van Gaal: He's dropped Memphis and CBJ from #mufc's Cup final squad http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-utd-team-news-memphis-11363732#ICID=sharebar_twitter …

Because if i am, chances are Louis van clueless would be given another season if we actually win

Memphis can go suck a lemon, I'm not sure why he dropped Bojack Crossman though. I suppose he's not confident CBJ can survive vs. Zaha.

Feel kinda sorry for memphis tho. I thought he'd make the bench.

I'd get and understand that ..... If it wasn't a final and your only chance of silverware.

Each to their own, but never want to lose a final mate. What will be will be but never want that. The clubs FAR bigger than any individual and the success of the club comes first. Even if you think that's detrimental to the clubs longer term chances of success, that's for others to decide. Never want to lose a final.

Geez I woke up mad excited about the final :)
BBC are doing a full day of coverage I believe? That's me on the couch for an entire Saturday then.

C'mon United!!!

Like being a kid again with all day Cup Final Grandstand. Up early in yer jammies watching the teams have brekie, then on the coach ride the ground with all sorts of interviews and things in between. Happy days. All that's missing is a 3 PM kick-off as it should be!

Maybe be you have to be British and of a certain age to appreciate just how special the FA Cup is?

Having a mega, lazy final day today here too. Hopefully watch Rangers back into Europe with a Scottish Cup win at 3. Palace doing what they deserved to do the first game in '90 after. (Smiles.). Then Milan somehow saving the year against Juve this evening. Just sorry the Bayern- BvB German final clashes as that should be a great one too.
