The Manchester United Thread

Aye. Suspect she might not even want to stay in the football industry though

She'll be in the industry of sipping drinks with tiny umbrellas in them for rest of her life. Reading the statement to the press, it's obvious the club were desperate to keep everything out of open court. No idea what was going on behind the scenes there, but her lawyers must have collected plenty of dirty laundry for the club to do a full surrender after trying to bully her for months.

You lot are ******* lucky she agreed to the settlement too, whatever Carneiro's layers had on record must have reflected very badly on Mourinho, to the point that it might just have poison your season, like it poisoned Chelsea's season last year.

Saved by the bell.

No doubt. Whatever they saw, clearly had them nailed.

BBC reporting Bailly's deal.

Villarreal central defender Eric Bailly is set to be Jose Mourinho's first signing as Manchester United manager.
Bailly is due to have a medical this week and terms are thought to have been agreed with the Ivory Coast international, who will move for a fee expected to be about £30m.
He has played 40 times in La Liga, the first five of which were for Espanyol.
The 22-year-old played in every game as Ivory Coast won the African Nations Cup in 2015.
Villarreal paid Espanyol £4.4m for him in January 2015.
It had been thought Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be Mourinho's first signing since he succeeded Louis van Gaal as United manager.
The Sweden striker, 34, is a free agent after leaving Paris St-Germain and hinted at the weekend he would make an announcement about his future on Tuesday.
But he has refused to elaborate on his future.

"There is no confirmation," he said. "Keep wondering. I am enjoying the stories."

A settlement to shut her up perhaps? I am sure club and Mourinho did not want their reputation dragged through the mud at the tribunal

Lots of reports suggest she knew she could get more out of the pair hence why she turned down the initial offer but accepted the more recent one because if it went all the way stuff would get out in the public which would not benefit her. I think we can all guess along which lines.

I think Nemanja Matic's poor performances over the past year have been more down to him being unhappy rather than his ability. His first year and a half back at chelsea he was an animal and imo the leagues best defensive midfielder. Would be unreal for you lot if he is signed imo and I really hope it doesn't happen and he can rediscover his form at chelsea under conte.

The Matic to Utd rumor is frustrating me because everyone/media seem to forget Matic was allegedly one of the ones who fell out with Jose the most last season. Jose even done to him one of the worst things that can happen to any professional footballer even in being subbed off when you were a sub yourself!

Starter for 10. What L'pool manager did that and to who at Stamford Bridge?

Bonus if you can another L'pool manager that did it again at the Bridge and to who later that decade the end of the last Century? This time on someones one and done debut!

SOURCES: BAILLY PASSES MEDICAL

Sky sources understand Eric Bailly has completed his medical ahead of a move to Manchester United.

The Villarreal defender would become Jose Mourinho's first Manchester United signing for a fee in the region of £30m.

They are not reports. They are **** rumours started.on twitter by bitter Chelsea fans once.the whole thing kicked off. Chelsea had set out to discredit her. If any of that was remotely true they wouldn't have capitulated in a day

She accepted the second one because it contained the apology she's been asking for since day one.

City are gonna have Aubamayang and Aguero next season, jeez, Pep is going to have one **** of a team at his disposal.

Anyone we are being linked with Griezzmann and Di Marzio is over it as well, so, that would be the signing of the summer, if it ever happened.

It's going to be crazy between the 2 clubs this summer and next season. City still need a lot of work but he will be a good signing, most probs have to play on the wing which would be strange imo.

Considering Aguero's injury record they really do need another quality striker anyway.

True, they seem to be addressing well though, admittedly with a few crocks at the start of season like Gundogan.

We have quite a bit of work to do also, I hope Bailly is just the start.

I actually think we have a better all round squad than City for Mou to start with. Baily and Ibra hopefully is a very good start.

This.

Let's not be silly here. Remember when news broke out that she's going to court, no one gave her a chance. An employee fighting for a massive settlement and a public apology from a company that's a vanity pet project of a multi-billionaire? Right, good luck with that, Eva.

And now after months of smear campaign, club does a u-turn and completely surrenders. There's gotta be some serious dirt involved.

When you have reports stating that top executive at Chelsea, Marina Granovaskia, allegedly texted Eva to reassure her that she did nothing wrong then its really strange why this dragged on for so long. Blind loyalty to Mourinho from the club it seems and incredibly stupid as well

Either way, with Jose gone to United and this case settled, I am just happy United now take on the mantle of 'most hated club' in the EPL from Chelsea :)

Those tackles look crazy - leg crunching. Been a couple of years since we've had someone who could do that (Hi Vidic)

Yup. But the problem is he's too young and raw and what we need is a bit more experience to tighten things up and/or deal with Smalling's occasional brain fades ...

So it wasn't because she knew that the investigation would have ordered less compensation to be paid. Call me a cynic but I've seen it happen time and time again and not just with females!

She's been very clear from the very start about that. That's why Chelsea fans like Alcaraz are fuming. So avoidable.
