Exactly ! And with all the changes that are happening in the team this summer, some continuity and experience will make the squad evolution much easier.
Exactly. If only we kept at least one of Rio/Vidic/Evra while some of the younger guys transitioned into the first team. Having kids with massive potential is great, but they are inconsistent. You need an older head to remind them how to do the simple things and keep calm

Evra is still really good. Just signed on to stay at Juve

Good for Carrick, the club desperately needs some experience.

And yeah, losing Rio/Evra/Vidic in the same window was by far the stupidest move by the club those last 3 years. Big part of Ferguson's long-term success was always having the core group of players who were ultra-professional and set the tone for everybody else. Imagine arriving to United in the late 2000s and seeing 40 year old Giggs fighting for every ball in training like he's a teenager eager to impress the manager and get his debut. You'd know immidiately that this is a serious club and you need to work your *** off to succeed.

You can't replace that kind of leadership, which is why LVG brought Bastian, and people who want Bastian out are dumbasses.

Should be called even worse names. Schweinsteiger was very good in the first few games and then it all went south with injury problems. Also Van Gaal rigid tactics didn't help either.

Players would dream just to train with him, one of the best midfielder in the last 10 years and he is still a very good player. Hopefully we see that in Euros.

Yep defo a fake account. But the people who originally reported are reliable I have been told by a few Swiss people and not Utd supporters. Say it's to early for him to move here also.

I think that is a bit of a misconception. I also think that Carrick is way past it. Now you can all attack me ...
I won't attack you :) But to say he's past it is a bit much. He by no means should be a key player or who we build a squad around but his passing stats are still very very high and our win percentage with him and Schniederlin in the team to be fair is a lot better than without. If used sparingly and right can be very useful in games for us.

If your up in a game and things start getting a bit rushed and the pressure hits, like a few times last season when we was leading going into the last 15 minutes and the younger players nerves kick in and play hoof ball, you need players like Carrick to come in and keep things simple. Get the ball and keep it, slow the game down and let players re-group. You cant buy that kind of experience. Definately still good enough to start a fair share of games and to come on late on to steady things.

He'll still start a few Europa games, especially in the group stages. Also he's a good player to have when the fixtures pile up over Christmas and need to rotate. Depending how he does this season, and how some of the kids progress, I'd even consider keeping him for another year next year aswell.

I actually think he was never that great anyway. I always thought we went for the wrong West Ham player (Lampard miles better though yes they play in different positions). Carrick in almost all major matches tends to be by passed/overrun by opposition midfielders.

Carrick has been class for us and a very important player over a successful last 10 year period imo. Suppose each to there own :)
