The Manchester United Thread

This is nonsense, pure tripe, it has escalated from being demoted to bullying. Does this guy even know what the two even means? Judging by this not.

Also saying he would take it to court.... well a stupid plonker this guy is. Seriously then mentions a prison sentence afterwards, for real? Your honour, I found Mr. Mourinho guilty of dropping a player to reserves and making him train with them.

Even if he did train with reserves it isn't no where near as much of a meal as this guy likes to make it out to be.

In this case, demotion and bullying is pretty much the same thing. Bastian is not some young player who is on the fringes of the first-team and is being 'demoted' back to U-21s. He is a CL winner, World Cup winner and a legend in his own right. Demoting a player of his stature to the reserves is the same as bullying him.

Although I agree that the rest of what that guy saying was ****.

Maybe, just maybe, has anyone considered that he was made to train with reserves to gain fitness? Judging by how he was at times last season he didn't look the fitness you'd expect.

This situation is odd for sure but until we see what happens ultimately to Schweinsteiger I fail to see how it is that bad. Loads of players have played for reserve teams before when trying to pick up fitness, especially from injury.

Sure that could be a reason. I am just basing my comments on the idea that he has been demoted as what most reports have been speculating.

That situation seems more reasonable though. He'd of been young still and wasn't being frozen out (or whatever is actually happening right now), just asked to prove himself to get back in to the 1st team

While he was young he had played over 75 times for Bayern and had 18 caps for Germany. He had hardly just joined the squad and I think that is more than enough to prove yourself

He wasn't in 2005 either. He had played 87 games for Bayern, winning two league titles and had 18 caps for Germany as they got to to the semi final of the Confederations Cup and Euro 2004. Just because he won some stuff doesn't mean he can't be with the U-21's for a bit, he still seems to happy at United according to his agent.

We constantly send players to reserves for fitness. WE wouldn't have got through last season without it. Not saying that's definitely happened here. But this guy is full of ****.

Bastian was full first team when demoted by Bayern btw.

He was also, well, a bit of a lad when he was younger for a while. Wasn't always this full on Pro he is now.

Without going through a million 10 year old news articles I don't know it was an incident or attitude problem that prompted him to be demoted, but he wasn't down there long anyway.

"He had hardly just joined the squad and I think that is more than enough to prove yourself" Well I'd say he's done enough since 05 to show he's good enough for a major club still, even if it isn't every game. Could be nothing in this at all still anyway lol

Then what Bayern did was wrong as well. Magath is borderline pyschotic.

If he was sent to the reserves for fitness, its strange why no one has clarified the matter as such so far.

Because I don't think either the player or the club think it's news worthy, based on his agents reaction. It's jot even the worse bit of speculation we've had.

Anywayyyyyy.

Who will start in defense for the first game of the season?

Smalling and Blind.

Jose wants another Vidic type defender but there are precious few, especially those actually better than Smalling

Shaw on left Darmian on right? Or will Valencia be playing?

Shaw 100% on the left. Could be either of those two. If Valencia plays like he did against Galatasaray he will start, his crossing was the best ive seen it in years, which was the biggest issue last season

Keep an eye on it Mike, you need to inform me before season starts so I can adjust my dream team accordingly haha

Wasn't even thinking about the final tbh. Bailly and Blind for that one. Rojo will be lucky to be at the club come the end of the window.
Looks like he’s staying, Turned down Shanghai SIPG recently and Monaco last year. Apparently likes it at the club and wants to prove his worth. Will have to see if anyone else comes in for him.

Cant see how he would turn down China there window has been closed for about 3 weeks. Sure the source of that rumour was Espn.
