Mourinho says Ibrahimovic was 'phenomenal'. Despite his finishing, thought he led the line a lot better today. #mufc

Yeah i thought our new system of moving all the lads up a year wouldnt pay off, but they all seem to have stepped up and play some great stuff, across all the levels down.
Yeah watched a few City youth games very impressed with what I've seen. Think if the lads are playing good at u18s I see no reason for them not be be pushed up a group. Like we did with Poole, Williams etc this season with Sebatoui, Chong, Kehinde all getting promoted to the u23s. I expect Gomes to get some game time at u23s after Christmas despite being just 16.

They've done it with every level down to the u13s (i think it is), the u21 was the only league they lost last year so makes sense. They'll push and move as the lads hit puberty and development at different stages anyway. A 14/15 year old was whopping the u17/18 division last year.

Just seen the score wow 4-0

Like we said after we walloped them the other week (don't know if you caught it), they're half the team without Kante. There was Leicester fans the pub before that game saying they'd rather of lost Vardy or Marhez. Presume there was the same gaping space in front of Huth and Morgan, who have returned to the average Joes they've always been after last years phenomenal efforts, in todays game with no Kante there.

Either Ranieri changes the system to compensate or they'll continue to get battered all over the Country and have a long, struggling season.

Is rite mate. They're a real mess.

Congratulations the victory. Even more so being you've been one of the very few in here to keep their calm and not lose their **** through the past 2 weeks.

Never seen the game today outside of MOTD highlights just now (man alive just HOW bad was the Leicester defending? Could of at least made you work for those goals), but I was talking to a blue mate on my way home though town after our game who did and he was saying the major difference wasn't so much Mata for Rooney in his opinion but Herrara for Fellaini and how everything was quicker and more direct with it all stemming from him. He had him down as the clear MOTM.

Herrera has his flaws, but he's at the heart of almost everything good we've done since he joined.

The thing is it really has been pretty much all on Rooney. For a start he's too slow. And a massive factor of that is that he can't control a ball anymore for whatever reason. It's almost as if he's playing on ice and when he touches the ball it skids 5 yards away from him. It's been slowly getting worse for the last couple of years. Then you have the fact he almost never uses his left foot anymore. He always tries to let the ball run further onto his right. By which time hes lost the opportunity to wrong foot the defender; or too slow to keep up with the ball after letting it run further onto his right; or his poor first touch gives the ball away.

Rooney in his prime wouldn't even hesitate to take a first touch with his left and wrong foot the defender and even take a player on down the left side. He's even carried it on and finished with his left, or got the space to get it to his right and finish. That part of his game is non existent now and has been for quite a while.

Also Rooney of old would be playing balls like pogba did to zlatan over the top. He had that vision to make a pass like that. Now all he does in that position is immediately play it out wide, or linger on the ball and try to play a rushed pass when he gets closed down and ***** it up. But he's hardly in that position anymore to begin with. Too busy near the half way line getting the ball and playing the long diagonal ball out wide.

Teams have clicked on to that. If Rooney gets the ball around the half way line, most of the time he will play the long diagonal ball to the other side of the pitch. The full backs are now positioning themselves expecting that ball. Much like you knew Gerrard was going to look for that pass first when he got the ball.

He's lost his unpredictability. And that was what made him such a good player. He was capable of picking out an outrageous pass or just belting a ball when u least expect it. Now it's almost the same predictable **** every game. Ball gets played in to him, poor first touch then too slow to beat the player to it, losing possession. Tries to play a ball through and massively over hits it because he's got no touch whatsoever and plays like he's got concrete boots on. Wanders around the half way line to get the ball in acres of space (so he won't lose it when he takes his first touch), then plays a long diagonal ball which full backs are now expecting. Taking corners and hitting the first man. He's actually getting on nani territory now for **** corners (apart from that one good season Nani had taking them).

Rooney has become so predictable, the only time hes done something "out of the norm" from his recent game, was when he actually got the ball and ran at the defender against hull taking him on and setting up rashford. That was Rooney of old. Reverted back to same old **** in the Derby.

Look at the play today between pogba, mata and Zlatan. Pogba into mata, good first touch from mata to get the ball under control. Pogba surges forward and gets the ball back from mata. Pogba plays a ball over the top to zlatan catching out the defense. Good chance created. Change mata for Rooney. Pogba plays the ball into Rooney. Rooney takes a touch and ball goes 5 yards away. Loses the ball. Rooney runs back to midfield. We win the ball back. Rooney gets the ball on the half way line. Plays the predictable long diagonal which is easily read. Possession lost. Rooney plays that ball because there is nobody in the hole to pass to. Why not? Because Rooney should ******* be there.

I've gone on enough. Could go on all day. Simple fact is, if there was ever a good example of what is possible without Rooney, look at mata and Pogba's performance today. Even Herrera. 3 players that can actually control a ball and play a pass ripping a team apart. What happened when Rooney came on? *****. It was that bad my friend didn't even realise he was brought on when we was talking after the game.

I'm pretty optimistic this is the start of the end for Rooney, just by listening to Mourinho afterwards in the BBC interview post-match. He was saying he doesn't have to justify dropping a player when the others play well or along them lines.

Rooney was once a great player, he hasn't been for quite a few seasons now, I honestly don't know how he has lasted this long but his time is well ans truly over. He can be a rotational player at best but personally I'd save him for Europa League and cup competitions. Get rid of him at the end of the season and wish him best of luck.

Yeah Kante was the one of the 3 they needed to keep if they had kept him they would be top 10 but he is a massive loss, the guy was unbelievable last year.

Im not a rooney hater by any means but i have to agree my friend.we have to move on,nothing lasts forever

I agree, However I truly hope he gets the goals he needs to get the record. He deserves that

Yeah, what would be the point? Keep picking inferior player for a year, just so he can hopefully score from 4 pens and break the record?

If he can't break into the squad, he doesn't deserve the record. It's that simple.

Oh come on lads give it a break, football isn't always as simple or as ruthless as that, especially not towards club legends. If Gerrard was a just few appearances/goals/assists whatever off breaking an all time Liverpool record, then Liverpool would definitely try help him achieve it. Would they owe him it? Technically no, but come on it's just a bit of common courtesy for a long lasting servant who was once world class and still has world class ability in certain areas.

Did Republic Of Ireland have to set up that friendly against Oman last month and basically have the players go all out of their way just to try and set Robbie Keane up to score on his last ever appearance? No. Did they have a common bit of courtesy to do it anyway? Yes.

What harm would it do to selectively use his experience throughout the season, and give him game time in the Europa League & Cups? I swear people go over the top about him, it's not as if he's an invalid now, ****** ****.
