The Manchester United Thread

So far so good in avoiding injuries, with the likes of Pogba, Martial, Blind, Depay and co completing both of their international fixtures, and Herrera unused... no injuries to the English lads tomorrow please, & safe games for both Mkhitaryan away to Poland and Valencia on Ecuadorian duties away to Bolivia - and then focus on Liverpool next Monday!

You're right, I even retweeted his tweet a few days ago - oops. But even better. :)

Manchester United executives view Celtic safe standing, as pressure for a trial at Old Trafford grows

good news!

Only one thing stopping the return of standing areas. The very thing clubs disgracefully used the 'safety' aspect B/S to hide behind after Sheffield and jump into all seater stadiums so quickly.

They'd have to lower prices down from seats. Along with having to convert to the rail seats to start with. More expense to them. Two things. My bad.

Really hope we push for it or at least trial it. It can work and be safe. I understand after what has happened in the past, but to me that should not stop it coming back. Problem with OT now is that there arnt many ways to expand now. So I think this could be a great idea.

The complete irony is next Monday Night at Anfield the vast majority of the stadium will be stood up for 90 minutes. But they'll be no messages imploring everyone to sit down on the grounds of safety/ people not being able to see behind you et all. Because on a major night like that, when they need the special support Anfield can generate, they let everything slide and in effect allow everyone to break the law. 'We can't have a safe standing area, but we'll turn a blind eye and you can stand in a seated area when we need your support.'

The complete hypocrisy that has existed for the past 27 years and counting over safe standing is beyond reprehensible from the clubs.

Apparently TFM was impressive for the u21s Holland side at CB playing the full 90 mins. And Sebatoui is playing for Belguim u20s tonight. And Tuanzebe and Henderson both played for England and Lingard starts again tonight against Slovenia.

Chong starts another Netherlands U20s match, this time in a top-of-the-table clash against Norway. Apparently on the left wing. Impressive despite being 16. Has been great this season, can see why he was so sort after. Really promising so far!

Pogba got a new haircut so if we schedule the argument over it for around 3 tomorrow would everyone be online?

Lingard been decent in this second half for England, slipped a nice ball through to Sturridge whose greed got the better of him when tamely shooting instead of pulling it back.

Rooney & Rashford both on now, Rooney nearly put them in front and Rashford has just over 8 minutes + extra time to make an impact.

As I'm typing this, Lingard almost scores from around 25 yards out - good save from the Atleti keeper.

Ian Wright & Lee Dixon take off any anti-united goggles that may understandably be on a gooner and say Rashford needs to start the next game up top for England instead of Sturridge, saying he's more "dynamic" than Daniel... big shout that.

Personal opinion is that England's problems are a lot more than just Sturridge's dynamism.

Sturridge is one of the greediest players I've seen in a long time.

Agree. Sturridge and Rashford should be playing together imo. I would like to see-

Hart
Walker-Smalling-Keane-Shaw
Drinkwater-Henderson
Rashford-Alli-Lingard
Sturridge

Cool story, England have won every qualifier that rooney has started in.
