See...clinging onto hope...same thing we're doing now

There's a big difference between hope and confidence, I have every confidence that Mourinho is on the right path and eventually everything will fall into place (not hoping, I am sure of it) - hope is crossing your fingers when you have a punt in the Grand National, or for praying for a White 25th, but I am confident and trust in Jose's project.

Which he usually was. I always hoped LVG would turn us around. But never really had confidence that he would. Especially after being at a few games second half of last season. Always wanted Mourinho to take over after Fergie and have been confident ever since his announcement that he would get us on the road to the top again. And after this season so far nothing has changed that it's only got greater!

Thought so at first glance. Not after the replays. Good refereeing.
Anywhere else on the pitch its a stonewall foul. Dont understand why when its in the box is not. Not saying that this is what you claimed btw
Not sure about Ibrahimovic, I feel it benefited our play and pressing game generally without him. Personally I feel he just hasn't been anywhere near clinical enough with his chances this season. The difference between us being where we are now in the league and being in the mix at the top is his missed chances this season. Mixed in with today of course. Take the 3 results Arsenal,Burnley and Stoke where we have destroyed them all but not got wins, that is effectively 6 points we should not of dropped.

I don't like the inconsistency either. I'd rather have refs giving soft pens than giving it anywhere outside of the box. It genuinely ****** me off.

U18s finished 3-3 in a good derby encounter. Ref was shocking! Buffonge and Kenyon were poor the later giving away 2 pens which the first should never have been! But 2 world class saves from Sebatoui from both kept us in it after Kenyon was sent off. MOTM was Gribbin. Different class today with a hat trick. All in all good game despite decisions going against us. Shame first team derbies don't have same intensity anymore.

Well that sounded quite the exhilarating game.

Liverpool 3-3 Utd the U'18's. L'pool have 2 two pens saved. Utd, twice in front then 3-2 behind, equalise the last minute with a peno of their own after being down to 10 men. With countless other chances in between.

Sounds like I was at the wrong game at the wrong end of the Country today.

Cracking game. Brewster missed both penos. Well not missed as such the keeper made 2 top saves to keep them out. One of your defenders went off with a stretcher and needed oxygen and really bad medical care. Hope he's ok didn't look good.

Yan Dandha apparently missed the first.

Can't find any outcome on the 15 year old FB ta. Just he went the hossie with neck and head injury's.

*Edit* City and Everton drew 4-4 yesterday morning too. Heck of a day of U-18's action the North West!

Juan Mata has been directly involved in 83 league goals since joining the Premier League (42 goals & 41 assists); no midfielder in the league has more.

Not bad that, especially considering someone in the class of David Silva has been here in England longer.

Another interesting stat. Do you guys know that we've had 74 shots in our last 3 homes games? And have just conceded 19...And we've failed to win in any those games.

We equally have the worst(or one of) conversion rate in the epl.

Given how this weekend has gone, generally not bad for us, 8 points off the top maybe 9 if Chelsea win.

Id say 8 points is salvageable but anything above that is a real struggle. Not writing off our season in terms of PL top 4 just yet. With a bit of luck and continuation of our good performances we can go on a real run. West Ham and Everton are very beatable at the moment.

Despite our position I really can't fault our play at the moment! Performances and individual displays have been very good, just a mixture of bad luck and striker not being clinical I believe have prevented us picKing up these points we have missed out on.

Our general play is such an improvement on last season, except in a few games such as Chelsea and Liverpool. If only we had a lethal striker at the moment to finish these chances off. Ibra has to start finding consistent form to justify us keeping him as no.9 first choice. Personally I would like to see Rashford start again up top with Ibra just behind and Mata on the right with Martial on the left. We need to stretch defences, with Ibra up top we become predictable.

Yeah he needs to start again though in theory he already has with his 2 against Swansea. Think our attacks break down to much with Rashford leading the line. Personally I think he needs a few games rest. He doesn't look as sharp and was cutting a frustrated figure a lot against Arsenal. He will be class but we are relying on him to much. God knows why he subbed off Martial when he was playing well and getting shots on target and creating.

Swansea were very poor, think we need to judge Ibra against a half decent opposition such as West Ham or Everton to see if he is starting to find his form again.

TBH I'm not even worried about Ibra. His general play has been good. And any STR can go through a dry spell. Rooney has done it all his career scoring in patches. RVP went on a longer spell without scoring when we win the title last. RVN the same in one of his last seasons. They all have one thing in common and they were world class and knew they would start scoring again if the chances kept coming. Will be same with Ibra, poor opposition or not those 2 against Swansea will have got the monkey off his back. The amount of chances we are creating he will start scoring again. Still confident he will get 20+ goals for us this season.

You situation is similar to ours when Mou came back. Good team, fairly attractive play style, no strikers. As soon as you get your Costa, it's game on.
