Arsenal were **** today, but there's no such a concept as "deserving to win" in football. If you draw 1x1 in a game where opposition was poor, that only means you were incompetent both in attack and in defense.

Sorry mate that is rubbish. Creating and outplaying a good Arsenal team does not mean we were incompetent in attack and defensive play. In fact to keep that Arsenal attack negated to pretty much nothing with Jones and Rojo is a feet in itself and shows how competent our defence was today.

One thing I'm encouraged about this season is our performances. We have played and created some of the best footy in a long time. Mou is on the right path and will get it right in all parts of our game.

It's not, tho. Chelsea once won the UCL being utterly dominated in both semifinals and in the final. The fact that Barcelona outplayed them counts for nothing at all. Today, Arsenal were ****, but they are 4 points ahead and the game was a must-win for us. So, if you dominate such a good team and fail to capitalise on it, losing the chance to get only one point behind them, that means you were incompetent.

Besides, Manchester United, so far, has failed to build upon these games where we dominated but failed to win.

Yeh, it is hard to be negative about our play when it is so much better than we have seen under the last two managers in most matches.

Well if you want to look at it like that I suppose you can, personally I saw only positives today for the most part. Playing like this under Mourinho is a style that will and hopefully should yield long term rewards. We are not seeing games out as well as we should but look at our injuries and Mourinho hasn't been here long enough for these minor issues to be ironed out. In all the months of football under Moyes and LVG I never seen a style or identity that made me think we are going somewhere as a team.

I think we have different takes on the game and the season so far, mate. I, for one, think that Mourinho's work so far has been more of a mixed bag. I definitely see the positives, specially in Herrera's rise. But i also worry about some aspects. Anyway, it's just too early to analyse where the team is going, so i hope that it turns out as you expect.

I see positives but i don't want to cling onto hope as that's what i did with LVG. I remember under LVG, we would play well in big games and **** in the smaller games. We had some really good games under LVG but he was one complicated philosopher who still used route one football as last resort rather than attacking.

In the end, i was disappointed.

Under Mou, idk if i'd call us improved yet. We were far more efficient under LVG infront of goal with the little chances we created but we have been more wasteful under Mou which is were it counts.

Another problem this year is how poor Rashford and Martial have been. Both have showed glimpses but not been consistent enough. Which is to be expected of young players. Also think Rashford has looked jaded in a fair few games this season, maybe played to much and the burden of us over relying on him is taking effect a bit. Not helped that Zlatan has missed some sitters and had a dry spell, but most STRs do some point in a season. Fully expect him to be up and running after his 2 vs Swansea and I nice break.

I'd much rather be creating and missing a handful of chances in the first few months of a new era, rather than having to rely on being efficient on 1-2 chances per game in the middle of one, and that not being an "off day", that being the "philosophy" - meaningless possession, 1 goal scored against you back then would almost guarantee you not winning the game.

I'm with T.O.D & Zz, haven't missed a second of any game this season, have watched the majority of the matches more than once, and I see nothing but huge strides taken when reflecting over the past few seasons, and things are still being cemented into place... not being helped by unfortunate results & defensive injuries. There's no doubt in my mind we will gradually click, we will become consistent, we will be back under Mourinho.

Definately need to Replace Zlatan with a world class STR when he goes as Rashford is no where near ready to be leading the line for us yet. Happy with the CM atm could easily replace Carrick with Blind when he needs a breather. Happy with Bailly, Smalling and Shaw. Need a RB if Mou don't rate Darmian. Not sure what to think attacking wise will need a STR and maybe a RW depending on how Mky does eventually given game time. 3-4 Mou signings and can see us back at the top.

I'd love Aubameyang & Griezmann, not asking much at all. :D Martial, Rashford, Aubameyang, Griezmann, Mkhitaryan & Lingard wouldn't be shabby options to have haha, with Ibra turning 36 & Depay a likely departing figure.

Yeah not to shabby :) Think Auba will end up at Madrid he's always stated he wants to play in Spain and with Ronaldo and Benzema both 30+ he would be ideal for them. Really think Griezmann is our top target next summer. As for a STR it's hard to think of one TBH. I like Lukaku but he's inconsistent. Hernandez has shown he is a top class STR would he come back? Not sure! And Dybala and Icardi are the next ones I can think of.

That's the thing, it's all hope. We've had our fair share of bad games this season like chelsea being one, watford and a few europa league games. I hoped under LVG, we were going the right direction but he pretty blew much of the 250 mill on flops bar martial and blind.

Hard to say flops. Darmian and Memphis started off on fire then Darmian got injured and was not seen for ages. Memphis was playing well then same thing happened to him to. Our results were better when we played with Svhniederlin, then he was in and out the team and has been ever since. Rojo has been good enough at CB but dire at LB. Shaw has been good up until his injury. It's not hope you can see we have improved. Under LVG our play was getting worse as the season went on. IF Martial and Rashford were on form like under LVG we would be in a miles better position. But you can't rely on youth to be consistent on a regular basis.

In his first season, it wasn't. At the beginning, we had alot of injuries and we were scraping wins regularly. It all seemed to click into place mid march after the run of 4 games where we played some great stuff. The we got beaten, unluckily, by Jose's chelsea despite dominating the match. It seemed to go downhill from there

Exactly. Went down hill in a big way. 4 games playing great out of a season ain't nothing to be chuffed about. And this season despite some dissapuonting results I've never had a thought that our performances were going to get worse. More than happy with what I've seen from Utd under Mourinho so far. It was never going be hit the ground running this season and go on a title challenge, though our squad would suggest it should be in one. I'm more interested in next season when Mou has had a year and his squad and no excuses.
