The Manchester United Thread

West Ham were holding on for dear life for large parts of that game and the time wasting was something else. Literally 30 seconds for every single throw in or free kick. They probably wasted half of that second half alone, slight exaggeration.

Randolph made some great saves. I'd say we outplayed them overall but they had a few flourishes in final 10 minutes because we went gung-ho as a draw meant nothing to us.

Don't know where this season goes from here but I'm calling it a write off personally.

Cant wait for Mou to get this squad sorted and fill it with players he trusts. Playing nearly the same team week in week out in every competition is hurting us, as we visibly look worse/weary in the second half of games. To many players in this squad not being used! And it's costing us.

Pogba in particular looked drained in the second half. We should've had the game wrapped up by half time, but how many times have we been saying that this season? I'm like a broken record now. *sigh*

Wake me up when we're consistently ruthless

I did tell you all that we would regret playing some of these players like Carrick on Thursday if we didn't get the result today. For me, today was last chance saloon to salvage anything from Premier League.

Pogba in particular looked drained in the second half.....

Does he even know his best side? He should at this point but he doesn't seem to.

For example the Armenian added a lot when he came on but he doesn't appear to trust him at all for some very bizarre reason.

Based on how we performed in the first half, I can't really argue with his team selection, but I do get what you're saying.

I can't help but feel Mourinho being sent to the stand was a massive factor too, when he's on the touchline roaring & instructing, the players are on their toes, but when they're looking over there and they're seeing Rui Faria.... I don't know, maybe that's just me, but it wouldn't be the same sort of authority.

There are many factors that can be pointed to as to this seasons failure.

- Individual mistakes.

- Consistency.

- Selection/Squad rotation

- Parts of squad not good enough.

It can go on and on. But at least half of what has gone wrong this season you can include the manager as a reason to blame for it. For example the inconsistency with selections, sign a player like Mkhitaryan and he is not even involved hardly up until when the season is virtually gone. Not really rotating the squad enough, players are drained from playing EL and then PL game within space of 3 days, especially towards latter part of matches. I don't understand why Mourinho hasn't utilised more of his squad more, that was one of our advantages in this season. We had a big squad that could be utilised and for me he hasn't done it well enough.

Where was Martial today? Not even in the squad. Is Smalling even injured or has he disappeared from planet earth? Why did he ever start that Chelsea game if he was carrying an injury? See, this is all problems Mourinho has to take the blame for.

Pogba was understandably leggy due to the fact that he played full minutes vs feynoord on Thursday

I like jose but all this controversy in leaving a sour taste and the players must be a little distracted. We are in real danger of being cut adrift of the top four by xmas if this carries on,maybe are already...

our play still looks disjointed to me,yes in patches there is some good stuff but still plenty of work needed.Only time will tell if the current setup can get us back to where we want to be

I agree in some of what your saying. But if he doesn't think they are good enough then I can understand him not playing them. If that's the case then he needs a mass clear out as we can't have this problem again next season. He's will have had his first season by then, so no excuses! It's clear for all to see that Schweinstiger, Schniederlin, Memphis, Young, Januzaj and maybe Darmian, Fellaini, Rojo are not fancied and looking like Rooney is being fazed out. Big job in the summer for Mou! Looking back at his career he always has a big turn over in players in either his first or second season. As for Mky I'm not worried at all. Yes I would of liked him to have featured more, but nearly every Dortmund fan told me to expect this for the first part of the season as it's the sort of character he is.

All you need to step up your game.. Scouse wrote an essay on beating Sunderland at home... :)

Won't let me post it for some reason. But if someone can find and post herreras interview after the game it would be appreciated. And is a really good watch. And sums our football up atm.

Manchester United have made tentative enquires with Benfica over central defender Victor Lindelof, who is Jose Mourinho's priority target in the January transfer window, according to Sky sources.

The same sky sources said 2 days ago we are going to pay the release clause for Gimenez from Atletico Madrid. As for Lindelof he's a good CB put not ready as of yet, would be another signing looking at the future and signing his potential.
