The Manchester United Thread

This is an unusual defensive shape West Ham have when United on the ball, a high back-line with a deep midfield line, so congested, literally no space between the lines.

They've been getting way too deep since the sending off.

They're just encouraging Utd here.

First thing I would do at half time is sub Lingard for Martial at half time.

What absolutely abysmal misses from Valencia and then Lingaard even worse with the open net.

I think this game is actually more suited for Rashford. Martial likes ball to feet, Rashford likes to get in behind, it's way too congested between the lines, but there's space in behind that high back line if the run is timed well.

Dean is having an absolute shocker as he more than often does.

Not even a card for the West Ham lad there on Metal Mickey after the earlier joke of a red.

We've been **** since the red card tbh. To slow, no width no taking anyone on, players to deep. Mourinho hairdryer at HT along with Martial and Mata on Lingard and Darmian off.

That's as poor a first half as I've seen from United. Probably not helped by the Dean sending off which has turned West Ham ultra negative. A sending off isn't always a beneficial thing for the team with 11.

**** reffin' from Dean. It may be in united's favour, but I wouldn't like it if the situation was swapped so I don't like it now. Like I was saying a few days ago, the referee's need an inquest led by the F.A.as to why they are so ****.

Also, WTF is Lingaard doing? I personally have never understood what he brings to the team, his composure & finishing are dreadful, he doesn't attack the defensive line, and he only seems to pass backwards or lose possession. I would appreciate if someone who likes Lingard can tell me why he is selected? I feel Martial/Rashford would be far better of playing on the left and Metal Micki on the right, or have Mata and MIcki on the pitch. Lingaard seems to do nothing that i can see.

West Ham's subs be just as crucial. This will really take it out of them. They pushed up the last 5 but dropped way too deep for a long period after the sending off. You can't keep that up for 70 odd minutes with no out ball. It just comes straight back at you. Noble for sure needs to be on soon and probably Carroll for something to hit.

Comfortable for them to defend though as you've created little. Still can't believe the double miss. de Gea brilliant to keep you in it. Dean a complete ***** as always.

Have to favour Utd as West Ham tire but it's still hard to call.

Only plus is the goal decision system which has been a brilliant addition this year.

Im not a huge Lingard fan but he is good at attacking the line and making runs and space for others. He's a very clever player and has done well when Mourinho has bought him in tbh.

Scouse, you will love the Aguero goal.. (Sterling makes a right bell end of himself) before KUN genius.

Just seen it. Good job Augero's World class with his follow up.

Thing is, we know more than most anyone just what ability he has. He's probably only really ever shown that the second half of '13/'14. I know a lot of your lads don't like him at all as he's been pretty anonymous most of his time at City.

this isn't some naive kid we're talking about as baby faced as he still looks. He's 22 now and an experienced, 5 year PL veteran and regular International. But he's no further on in his development than he was that '13/ '14 season. And doubtless never will be any more than one of the many in a LONG line of fantastic, but unfulfilled talent. All speed and little at the end of it.

Frustrating as I've seen close up just what he could be if he'd just apply himself fully to his craft and drop all the other bollocks from his playboy life.

Wont figure anything out with him or Sane under Pep this season, so far they've played Wing Back, Winger, Inside Forward, Free Role & Striker. When the team was settled he looked great, as soon as Pep started chopping and changing and changing again, everyone went downhill. We've made something like 70 team changes this season its hardly surprising. We're ahead of the next team by about 20.

If he's not on the 'early season' form for next season i'd worry. (Well not really we're rich as ****, we'll buy someone else).

Hopefully Rashford stretches them, seen signs if Ibra had more pace we could've got joy from it. They're constantly trying to push that backline out, we can get in behind.
