If each club takes care of their own, everyone wins. So really, I'm concerned with United fans.

The FA have stupidly given greedy owners cart blanche to rob anyone blind with the change in ticketing rules this season and putting it all in the home clubs hands to set the price.

Fully agree with what your saying abou stupid ticket prices, and especially the scheme the Glazer's have introduced. Its a joke. But the price range for the tickets are around what a game at OT is anyway. Also seeing as the FA impose an equal 45% split on gate receipts, which is directly taking from the home side, you can understand some clubs putting prices up a bit to compensate. Not in any way agreeing with a club the size of United doing it but the away clubs get a 45% share of gates, plus TV money from playing a big club, they cant complain. Then you have to factor in the size of OT, the bill for policing and staff wages that we have to pay still like any other game but with only 45% gate income.

Like I say im not justifying it in any way from a big club. Especially at this time of year and for the normal working class fan, but the away teams are hardly hard done by (even though the match going fan possibly is).
 
Commentator on Linderlof saying it could be his last time in the Benfica squad tonight. And his girlfriend has posted pics of there house with everything boxed and packed.

I wasn't suggesting the away team is hard done to Robbo. Soz if it read that way. The away fans though are a different story. In this case Utd fans are even harder hit as Reading have taken it upon themselves to subsidise the tickets so not one is over £30. £45 on top of getting up from Reading to Utd is just outright madness. Your lads are still stumped with the scandalous £37-£45 price which is a disgrace in itself.

The FA are the biggest culprits yet again in changing the rules this past summer for some ridiculous reason. It always used to be both clubs would agree on a reasonable price, and if they couldn't, the FA would step in and set the price. (Which I can't remember ever hearing of that happening.). The only stipulation was a minimal price across the board you couldn't drop below to make the split in receipts worth it.

The rule as now stands is that it falls on the home club to set the prices, with no less than a £10 minimum, but no upper limit, and the only way away fans can be charged more is if it's mutually agreed with the away fans.

They've completely changed everything that made everything reasonable with the Cup and given unscrupulous owners of a home side the chance to rape everyone if they so desire in their outright greed. Under the old system, this very nice little earner through the ACS on Utd season tickets of £37- £45 regardless if they attend or not wouldn't of flown as Reading would of opposed it and if it couldn't of been agreed, the FA would of set the fee.

I think they thought they were trying to stop the real small clubs from attempting to cash in on a big day out by asking for mega high prices. But at least the home club could oppose that and the FA arbitrate if necessary. But all they've done is opened it up for home clubs to set what ever they want COMPLETELY unchallenged.

As always, they haven't thought about the match going fan at all.

BTW, how is this forced auto cup scheme with penalty's disgrace STILL going at Utd with seasonies? It's been a good few years of arguments on this now. How are the Yank shithouses STILL getting away with it? That should be an individual choice. Not a frigging requirement. Money making at it's finest.

Random: Was he ever worth buying on footie manager? I never did. Mainly as I've completely gotten out the habit of playing the last few years. But seeing as it's taken him to this season to FINALLY leave Benfica, just curious if he was ever any better in the FM World?

Had him on a few saves on FM. Been good tbh especially my last test save with Dortmund. Linderlof I'm talking about not Gsitan :)

Well Mourinho also said that Sam Johnstone would be the only player leaving on loan, but Riley is just about to join Shef Utd on loan. Tend not to believe anything managers say on transfers. Just read that Rojo has a muscle problem, hopefully just misses Hull game. Would play same team tbh except for Carrick out for Schweinstiger or TFM.

I don't think Mourinho will be holding back against Hull at all. He said earlier Pogba, Ibra, Herrera etc will play.

Yeah read that. Just that it's over 2 legs would save as many as for Pool. But really want us to get that first bit of silverware under Mou so happy if it's a stronger team!

I honestly think its because there are that many fans that want season tickets, or the day trippers/casuals that will snap up any ticket regardless of price, so if one person stans up and says im not renewing and your taking the ****, there is a never ending queue behind that person all too willing. Ive got a mate that has got 4 season tickets and sells each one match by match. Prices obviously changing depending on opponent/importance of game. City/Liverpool have gone for £200 each in the past because there are mugs out there that will pay anything just to go to a game. When money comes out for cup games, there is somebody there to buy it at face value at the very least regardless of opposition.

Obviously none of that matters to a holder that actually wants to go to every game and not just make money. The green and gold brigade seem to have piped down since we started spending a few quid. You would think a scheme like that would be protested against straight away and scrapped, but like I said, there are that many fans willing to buy a ticket even from the genuine match going holders that cant go to the game, nobody is really arsed. If a season ticket/match ticket had a photo of the holder on, and you couldnt sell your ticket on and get your money back or more, there would be mass protests.

Even so, how can the FA let this exploitation stand? They have finally put a cap on away tickets after years of pressure, and are now bringing in rules that away fans get to sit pitch side in a decent area instead of up in the gods (Newcastle). Thats just to give the impression they do actually care about the everyday working class match going fan. But really we all know they dont give a ****. As long as the big clubs are doing well, signing world class superstars and keeping the reputation of the PL going, they are happy.

The FA supposedly have a fit and proper person test for potential new owners of clubs. Obviously one of their questions isnt, Are you going to fleece your own fans to line your own pockets?
