With everything you just said, You must also think that Arsenal also need a complete overhaul of their squad to compete at the highest level.

Considering Man Utd are only 2 points off from Arsenal at the moment, and its probably biased, but are playing much more exciting football than Arsenal right now.

Maybe not a complete overhaul but we're not a million miles away. We need a new left back, CM interior, elite foward, manager and maybe goalkeeper to compete at the highest level. United are playing more exciting football at the moment. Both teams rely on individual quality.

Why do you keep going on about him in the attacking third? Thats like saying Carrick offers nothing in the attacking third. Its not his job. Under LVG he was used in a more attacking way and he provided quite a few goals and assists. IIRC he went months without even having a shot off target. Now Jose is using more as a bridge between defense and attack. He's basically Carrick with slightly more attacking play. Carrick sits, Herrera is the bridge, and Pogba is more attacking.

I personally think Herrera has been one of our best players this season. Quietly going about his business keeping the midfield ticking over. Also considering he's playing in a slightly new position to him tactically, he can only get better in tht role. Im not saying he's going to be number 1 in that position, but I think your being way too critical of him. Your argument only seems to be about attacking, but thats not what he's in the team for really.

I quite like Ander Herrera and I'm quite critical of other players. Carrick is a lone regista who's job it is to dictate and progress the ball in the first phase. Herrera can't do that. As an interior in a 4-3-3, his output in the final to has to be better. Herrera's role is limited because he is a limited player. Partner Pogba with Saul and you'll see the difference.

My 11:
De Gea
Clyne Matip Rojo Milner
Carrick
Pogba Lallana
Mhkitaryan Coutinho
Ibra

Lallana would improve, Juventus, PSG, Bayern Munich and Barcelona. He's peaked a bit late but he'd walk into every premier league team.

Based on Klopp using him in that position for a few games? Do you think Lallana and Milner will continue in those positions when Klopp buys again in the summer? They are stop gaps and as soon as Coutinho is fully fit and Mane is back from ACON Lallana will be straight out of the team. If Liverpool had a decent left back even Milner would be in there over Lallana and thats saying something.

There was nothing wrong with his output under LVG and that was in a team playing ***** attacking football. He's being used differently under Mourinho. With LVG you had Herrera in the middle supporting attack with Mata on the right. The two would regularly interchange and also attacked and defended together down the right side. Herrera's job now is to intercept and close down quickly, then either give the ball to Carrick to distribute or play it to Pogba. Cant blame him for not doing something he isnt instructed to do.

Lallana and Milner are pretty good. Especially Lallana. Lallana isn't a stop gap. He'd improve the best teams in Europe. Lallana's creative output this season has been massive. He's proven himself as a central midfielder in an elite system. Anyone who thinks that he's a stop gap in Klopp's system is deluded. He's Liverpool's best midfielder. Milner at full back has been a masterstroke. The standard of fullbacks these days are generally very poor. Milner has had the technical ability and intelligence to make the position his own although, he's a stop gap to an extent, he's better than the majority of full backs in the country.

Looks like this is gonna happen sooner or later

Football is all about opinions, but my God there are some ******* stupid ones in here

Really not sure if your being serious now or just on a wind up lol
Nathaniel Clyne has much more of a brain than Antonio Valencia. He's virtually unbeatable 1v1. Joint best right back in the league. Joel Matip was in the Bundesliga team of the season last year and has outperformed all of your central defenders. He's vital at starting attacks. I chose Milner because Shaw's regressed a lot since the injury. Milner is outperforming Shaw's peak. Lallana is a huge upgrade on Herrera. Herrera is only superior in defensive transition.

The attacking football was ***** because players like Herrera, Smalling, Jones, Darmian and Valencia started. Herrera is a water carrier because he's limited. A lot like Coquelin at Arsenal who makes 5 yard passes to the pivot.

Clyne is a fine full back, but he actually gets beaten twice as many times per game one on one as Valencia.

And that is exactly why Herrera is in the team. He's doing his job. He's not in there to be attacking and creative like Lallana is. Under LVG he was in the team to be creative and he was. His goals and assists in that period back that up.

Not sure how Matip has out performed all of our defenders. Did you see Smalling last season? The Premiership isnt the Bundesliga lol. Liverpool have only kept 3 clean sheets in the games Matip has started in the league this season.

All the reasons you give for Milner could easily be applied to Valencia aswell. At the moment we dont really have a settled left back so cant really argue with that as it stands.

You list 4 defenders and Herrera and say the attacking football was *****? 4 defenders? Look back to that season. Herrera was probably our best attacking outlet. The problem wasnt the defenders for the poor attacking. How can it be? It was all the ***** sideways passing we played for the first 6 months. It was only towards the end of the first season when LVG settled on a starting 11 and formation that we started to improve and Herrera was key to that.

Not sure how you can blame Valencia for his attacking play. He's one of the best right backs in the league and a constant threat.
