The Manchester United Thread

Martinez of Fellaini. Those above are 'just' good. But priority is Modric, had **** of a game against Ireland. He's exactly what we need, fairly quick and can dribble past his man. You can't bully him. I REALLY WANT HIM.
Yep fergie should defo go for modric even if does cost 30-35m well worth it imo, look how much we paid for berba i know different players but price will be about same. Read somewhere martinez is madrid bound after euros 35m, think felliani will cost to much for fergie imo plus he not ong signed new contract so price would be more. MODRIC PLEASE!

I really don't think we'll sign b2b midfielder. If we sign Modric, that's it, nothing more. Maybe LB. But there's limited number of good all round midfielders, and most of them will cost a fortune.

If Fletcher does not get back to fitness (which I am doubting) it would be ludicrous if we did not invest in a B2B Central Mid, even if Fletcher did return we should get one though, we need some solidarity in the centre of the park.

Without selling someone, can't see it happening. Clev, Carrick, Ando, *Modric*, Scholes, Giggs - Jones, Tunnicliffe... more than enough.

I think we are mistaken, we need someone like more of a ball-winning central mid or a versatile destroyer ideally, which in our current squad we do not have.

I do agree with you. But I doubt SAF will spend 25-30m on that kind of a player.

I'm talking about classic central midfielders. Powell and Petrucci are more AM, tho they can play CM ( dunno about Powell, haven't see him playing)

very versatile watched him alot last season he is best behind striker but he wont ply there but has plyed on left can dribble past players well but i think he will be trained as scholes type player

Don't forget he's 18 only and he only played in 3rd league, so I'll take that with a pinch of salt. But still, I have utmost confidence in SAF.

true! but has been capped at u16,u17,u18 at interntional level. In fergie we trust!

Just read that udinese have signed defensive midfielder willians from flemengo as asamoah prepairs to anounce his move to european club this week.

It's his attitude and the way he carries himself more than his playing style. I admit he is sometimes electric, and just as effective as Ronaldo was, but he's far too inconsistent for a player that as you say, is well established in the league now. It's time for him to step up and provide consistent top class performances, he isn't a youngster that we can keep giving another chance to.

I genuinely don't believe Hernandez was fit all season, hence his continued non selection even when the Rooney Welbeck partnership went very flat mid season.
I don't really see why we're talking about him not getting another chance as if he hasn't proved himself yet. He was our best player in the 2010/11 season and one of the best in the league. Admittedly he had a dip this season but still got 11 goals and 13 assists. Consistency doesn't really seem to be an issue, he regularly provides for the team just in game he can frustrate by giving the ball away trying something extravagant. But that's his style, if you stopped him attempting passes like that he wouldn't be half as dangerous.

Problem is, he tries those passes too much. He needs to learn that sometimes best option is the safe one.

So, now that Harry has been sacked as Spurs manager, and reports that some of the players are looking elsewhere for clubs because of no champions league football, You think we'll make a move for Modric?

I dont think either bale or modric want to stay now but they have a crazy chairman so you never know. They wont sell anyone till they have a manager so we have to wait and if he continues to play the way he has than we would have lot of competition to sign him up.

Asamoah having a medical at juventus right now so now we either get Modric or Fellaini hopefully.
