Maybe, but think Bailly picked up a knock in last game, not sure about Pogba.

I think it was clear before this game that EL was always gonna be the priority, this is actually a stronger team than I expected.

Ah ok, i thought you meant that was your strongest XI (on paper) with just Rashford missing... lol.
 
He rested some key players, mostly those who just came up from injuries (Pogba/Baily etc.) Still a lot stronger team than I expected though, strong enough that you can't excuse the result with it just being a B team or whatever. And if players are gased on Thursday and you end up busting out....well.
 
Can definately see Smallling, and Rooney going in the summer, Rooney can bog off to China or the US (Doesn't look like Everton are that interested in him now) for a last big payday (he's creamed enough out of United since Fergie left), whilst Smalling is just a liability to the defence he's gone backwards.

Luckily for us I can't see Celta Vigo scoring 2 goals, hard to see 1 if they play anything like they did in the last leg.

But Ajax in the final if we make it, going to be one **** of a tough match, especially in that occassion.
 
never thought wed win today but a few poor performances from players that should be playing for their futures,still i thought mata played very well

See, you say that and it's easy to look at the attacking players but that was a typical Mourinho away performance against a top side. Sit and defend deep and if you nick something great. It's hard for the attacking players to do much of anything when they're expected to work backwards defending all the time.
 
Souness talking out of his **** again. Saying Mata and Mkytarian don't like playing wide in any system. He does realise they've both played there throughout a lot of there careers. Onto Stockholm :)

Great debut by Tuanzebe today! Was strong and composed and always tried to use the ball instead of hoofing it. Tidy passes and showed great pace nullifying Sanchez most the game. Most probs Utds best player tbh.

Shout. The young man looked as though he belonged at this level. Which is what we've both been saying all year on his ability and him needing a chance.

Yep. We've both been banging this drum after every round of u23s fixtures. Bin off both Smalling and Jones then promote him full time to first team squad. Plus as showed today he's more than good enough to cover Valencia at RB.
 
Just watching a few replays of today's match. Feel a little sorry for McTominey looked like his shot was going in from the angle I've seen. Could of had a debut goal, well done Rooney :( Also noticed Carrick has looked way off the pace as the season has gone on. I'm starting to think he won't get offered a new deal. And reports in Sweden are that Zlatan is going back there and has said goodbye to all there friends in Cheshire. And he will leave the club. Smalling and Jones gotta go for me now also.
 
We had some great chances in first half, but the same old problem of this season reoccurred, we don't have a goalscorer.
