The Manchester United Thread

I am actually really scared of the final.. the way we play lately.. :( I still think we can and will win, but we make it waaaay too hard for ourselves? :(

Still a straight red. You can't launch yourself at other players like that. It's like you don't even understand why these rules are in place, anything that *looks* remotely violent is off limits, the powers that be wants this to be a PG13 sport. Zidane didn't exactly do anything dangerous to Materazzi either but it was still a red, why, because it looked violent.

I can't believe we're even having this debate.

In my country we have saying that goes something like this
"You're trying to straight up the river".

I don't know why I even argue about football. It's so, ugh. You guys are correct, straight red. Jail punishment like Aspas suggested.

Utd have been very unimpressive and squeaked through the last three rounds all told. But that's ultimately all that matters in straight knock-out footie. The result. Not the performances. And in a one-off final anything can happen. Whole new ball game when it's on the day.

Rooney done more for us in them 6 minutes of stoppage time than he has in 6 seasons! (Slight exaggeration).

He bossed the time-wasting game!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry if we legitimately give him another ****** season here! He has been great but let it go!

He used his whole experience to get in the corner with the ball XD

Yep we may not be playing well. But with Mourinho we have one of the best in cup competitions and winning one off games. Player freshness shouldn't be a problem, we will rotate plenty. While keeping players ticking over.

Yup, as I said.. I still think we can and will win, just not as comfortable as the whole world wants us to unfortunately :D

Surprised he managed that to be honest! He struggles to control a ball these days!

Thankfully he came fresh of the bench! If he came 5 minutes earlier, he might struggle with such difficult task.

In reality he could of been sacked if we had lost tonight. Not saying he would of, but not getting CL this season is a disaster for the club.

Considering we chopped LVG for the same it wasn't beyond the realms of possibility.

Don't think was any chance of Mourinho getting sacked no matter what happened tonight.

Well it wouldn't of happened tonight, but this result would be a big influence on what ultimately happens is what I meant.

If we had lost tonight, that was CL gone, season gone with just a single trophy to show, that is much less thought of than an FA Cup LVG won for example.

Miss out on CL for 2nd year in a row, most of summer transfer plans go to ****, De Gea almost certainly gets tired of mediocrity and bolts, and the next year you have to compete with Guardiola and Conte who could actually strengthen their squads properly.

He probably wouldn't be sacked this season, but I very much doubt he'd last another if you won't make CL this year.

Looks like Ajax were more lucky than us to get through. Just watching extended highlights. Lyon missed some absolute sitters.

Not good defending for the Ajax goal either Lopes could have made the finish a lot harder for Dolberg than he did. Also Ajax got someone sent off as well no idea how important they are but, they hit the bar with a very nice shot

We've scored 100 goals this season? Imagine if we actually took our chances...

Funny thing is we average more points per game in all competitions than everyone above us in PL except Chelsea.. :(
