The Manchester United Thread

Nani, Valencia, Young, Park will be our wingers, and Nasri (If we sign) will play through middle alongside Carrick. We always had strength in depth which was our asset and key reason for the league title.

To accomodate Nasri or Young IMO Valencia has to leave. Rooney is too important for us and Nani has been smashing, Valencia is the one left out in the cold IMO.

And what happens when Nani isn't 'smashing'. Or Valencia gets injured, and then Park goes to South Korea, and how much longer can Giggs be on the left. Strength is depth is what it's called, allows for tactical variations and prevents you being screwed by one injury. Valencia and Nani as our only 'attacking' wingers would be a worrying imbalance. None are leaving.

How much are we paying? 15 Million max? Good enough for squad.

Again, is he willing to join just to be a squad player? He's the main man at Villa and as I have said before, he's grown a bit of an ego from it. I've also pointed out before that there are players as good (if not better) who would be willing to join as squad players, N'zogbia is available for £9M, we could get Valbuena for £12M; yet some people seem to be happy that we're paying £15-20M for a player that they think will be a squad player but he certainly won't want to be.

I just cant see that happening. Nasri has been great on the wing, and I don't think Nani would be happy rotating even more so.

Prince Samir will play through the middle.

whether he is willing or not is his problem. if he cant accept that i expect SAF not to go through. And SAF isnt even willing to meet the 16m they ask for. Just becuase you start at Villa certainly does not mean you start at United

.

Jones played so many games at Blackburn, do you think he will get so many games at United? No.
Owen was starting every game when fit for Newcastle and with massive wage packet, is he enjoying same privilege at United? No.

Young was important player for Villa, that doesn't mean he will be key for us too..

He may/will join us to win trophies and for champions league football. Or to put it in simple terms, Youngs wants to join Manchester United as we are the best in the England..

Yes I agree, but having 4 class wingers? Especially when in some games Rooney plays there to accomadate him and Berbatov/Hernandez. Also Nasri will cost in excess of £25 Million and Young will probably be around £15 Million ... A club, especially in £400 Million debt, doesn't really spend around £40-50 Million on 'depth'.

Nasri will be 15, Maximum his contract is up.

And A club like Utd spend what it takes take them to another level.

That's exactly what we are doing, adding quality and depth.

United fans, what ever happened to the rumour about you and Barcelona fighting to sign Ghana and L'OM player Andre Ayew?

For around that price ... I think if we are paying these prices they need to be 1st team players. Also where will the money be coming from. Its not like we have a lot of money at the moment. We are around £400M in debt? Someone will have to leave the finance it. And if we do get these players without Valencia or Nani leaving chances are in Jan or season after they will because they will be tired of being rotated.

We have transfer kitty to spend on players. Quality squad = more silverware and more money with which we are servicing the debt..

Figures show we have £113M in the bank to spend, rising to £160M by the end of the summer. We can afford to spend.

I actually heard it 3 times in various newspapers (Croatian), and some english websites... It was way back before CL final...

Wow, I guess nothing really reliable ever reported it, on any Concentrate info on us targetting him.

No, no and no. The money is there, no one needs to go to finance anything. And the players are happy being rotated, as that is exactly how united operate

Debt is not an absence of money, it's money that needs to be given back. We have the highest revenue in the league, and £100m+ in the bank. It's pretty obvious Ferguson is building his next team, throwing out the old. Park is 31, Giggs is 37. Nasri can play in the middle too, and it makes sense to get our spending done now before FFP than after. There's no reason for Valencia or Nani to leave at all.

If we were so worried about the debt then we would have used the £100m+ on servicing the debt.
