The Manchester United Thread

Asked about why he rejected LFC and AFC,Jones said "If I wanted my career to continue with no trophies I'd just stay at Blackburn''
******. Have fun being back up to the back up!

Maybe so but then again the Glazers do own Manchester United. But seriously ...If we buy both Nasri will have to be primarily a CM.

Well it's true, I don't see Liverpool winning trophies in a while. Arsenal have a bigger chance.

Jones is a Manchester United LEGEND without playing a game for us ;)

We've not won a trophy in a while, but still; what a ****. It's already rubbing off on him! ;)

Classless ****.

Looks like him and United were made for each other ;)

It makes it sound like Young's getting 35 million, which surely can't be true...

Well tbf, it depends how long his deal is... It might be 7 years long or it might be 4. And that make include bonuses, if it is a 5 year deal. That would be 135k a week, which is doubt very very much.

I'd doubt it. If it was i would be seriously seriously ******. I would definitely say that SAF would have got that one wrong.

But let's see what happends

i'd be suprised if he was to reach 100k a week

Would anyone tell me why United or Blackburn haven't made a statement on Phil Jones transfer, I'm getting sick and tired of this transfer saga!

No idea if ESPN's story is correct and whether it's true that the haste of Manchester United's bid has meant they didn't understand that £16m only got you a seat at the table rather than taking home the pot, but the haste of the bid will mean that a lot of the important contractual stuff will take longer to sort out than would otherwise be the case.

Mike - Young's personal demands are, erm, extravagant. Can really believe £34m over length of contract once loyalty bonuses and signing on fees and being a good boy clauses and the like are added in. You may be paying premium rate for his signature. Good luck to him if you lot are willing to pay that I guess ;)

Hernandez scored 2 more goals.. Thats 19 goals in 25 games..

Youth team news.

Few quotes on Mats Moller.
Solskjaer:
- I have seen Mats several times before, including at the Statoil Academy in Kristiansund. In my opinion he is on par with the best talents at other European clubs in his age group. He has made a very good impression at United. They're going to put in a big effort on him, says Solskjaer.

Scout John Vik, the guy who tipped off United about Mats:
- I got a tip on four extraordinary talents in the Oslo area four years ago. I saw all of them several times and I thought Mats stood out already as a 12-year-old at Lyn.

- Mats has proven himself after he came to United. For the upcoming season, he is selected as one of three key players on the club's youth team, even though he's only 16 years old. Now we'll see how he can handle the responsibility. This may be the most important year of his career.

Mats himself:
- It is very close at United, we eat together with first team players and meet the stars all the time. Sometimes I'm training with Darren Fletcher and others on the reserve team. It's a bit unreal, but very exciting.

- I've got a great chance and I believe it is the right step for me. Even after three months I feel like a better ball player
14 Year old NI striker Ruairi Croskery has signed for us.

Having been offered a scholarship with United, Ruairi will travel back and forth to Manchester until he turns 16, when he will move to England permanently. However, as scout Eddie revealed, the St Malachy’s High School pupil has already caught the eye of the main man at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex [Ferguson] watched him playing one day against Chelsea at Carrington and he liked him. The rest of the players were all 16 and Ruairi was only 14, and Ferguson told me that himself,” said Eddie.
