The Manchester United Thread

In fairness you thought our business would be over after Kagawa.

Considering we have not addressed quite a few areas season after season, it does make you wonder, good to hear it from Fergie this time round though, to be quite frank, he does not have much choice if he wants to compete next season he needs to improve in key areas.

Be interesting to see if berba or macheda stays now keane is injured?

Not really keen on either of them, Berbatov's work rate is just hugely frustrating and a lot of his goals have come from scoring quite a few against certain teams, not spread out if you get me.

Macheda has never really shown to me he is good enough for United, apart from when he scored that wonder goal he has been very disappointing, maybe time to move them both on and get a new striker in.

Yeah think berba should defo go united should sell him while can still get decent amount of cash for him and reduce wages, but not sure about macheda still young and shown glimpses of quality but never had a good run so hard to judge could be a squad player 4th str.

Exact same answers he gave last season and season before. But always great to hear that, to get hopes up in transfer window.

But I believe this time we are negotiating and that too for a CM and LB(Moutinho/Modric and Baines).

Well we bought players last season and season before. But he is never as open as that. Its usually a more vague have a look in the market. This is more definitive, suggesting he needs to get a player, rather than he wants to get a player.

Whats your thoughts on the str situation mate?

Moutinho would arguably be the best man for us..

Creative = Yes

Good at tackling = Yes

Whereas Modric is great creativity wise, but would not solve our problem of adding some bite to our midfield, Moutinho would almost be a 'two in one' kind of signing.

Hope Berbatov stays. Love watching him play, rotate with Kagawa behind Rooney. <3

We wont buy one. Dont know about Berbatov though, wont sell him for peanuts. I'd rather we keep him and try and get him more game time
Yeah should only sell at right price still think he can do good job for us, and whats your thoughs on macheda?

That is actually a very interesting idea, kinda like what they done with Ibrahimovic for Sweden?

I like that, Berbatov definitely can be creative, so we could try it for an alternative option to Kagawa, although we should not put Kagawa deeper to put Berbatov in the team.

lol, never said he didn't sign or had a go at him. I love him when he just gives vague answers as it is better to play your cards very safely and close.
Still I don't get how open this statement was:
"
Yes, there's a possibility. We’re working on one or two things but there’s nothing really to tell you to be honest.

Anyways, I love watching SAF not giving out the transfer details, hopefully our future manager will play like this.

If berba does stay will defo be rotation player/ cup player imo

I would love to seem him at 10 on occasion in a 3 man mid.

Makes sense all around. Removes the issue of his inconsistent scoring somewhat, and his technical ability and link up play is still phenomenal. Offers something different to the role than Kagawa. Do hope he stays, too talented for us to throw away.

I very, very much doubt we'll get Moutinho or Modric, if we were going to spend 20 million plus on a CM we would have by now in my opinion. I reckon it'll be somebody that we either don't know or somebody we know but isn't that bigger name....

Moutinho's not that great at tackling, he's definitely not at 'two in one' signing. You couldn't deploy him as an anchorman or defensive midfielder, because his game is centred around energy and hassling opponents, and getting forward regularly. He's a very dynamic player. I'd love him in our midfield alongside Carrick though.

Not sure how you figure that one. Price doesnt mean things happen quicker.

He is quite complete, sturdy enough to create a strong barrier with Carrick, without sacrificing attacking power. Rather than an anchorman, you are looking at two deep players protecting and striking back with raking passes. Has the mobility that Carrick lacks.

Exactly, but I get the feeling that Zzeezzy wants a midfield enforcer to play against the stronger teams, something Moutinho is not
