James done his hammy for Munich earlier which will put him out a good whiles.

Fortunate escape there.

Desperately need to get Shaw back. Especially if 352 is going to become more of a thing unde Mou. Darmian does a good job at FB and decent WB. But we need to Mirror Tony V on the right.

He really was outrageously bad last night. Looked like a feckin amateur to be honest.

Took Vidic half a season to get upto speed. Think everyone is worrying after Bailly settled in so fast

Yeah, as I said, I'm not judging him as a signing yet. Just what I witnessed last night was terrible.
Only a friendly though, and new surroundings for the guy.

Yeah we will need him to get up to speed sooner rather than later. But not worried yet. Especially if Matic is going to play like he did

Not even worried about Linderlöf after seeing him loads at Benfica. I know different leagues. But even in pre season you can see he is very good on the ball, and has pace to match the runs of most attackers especially noticed in the City game. Just needs to settle into his new team, new managers ideas and will be a top partnership with Bailly.

Evra was a slow settler as well, turned out to be one of our best fullbacks.

If I remember rightly he was so bad he got subbed at half-time in one of his first games.

He couldnt keep up with the pace and vomited, and was subbed off

Maybe Lingard can play there again, if he plays like he did the first game of the pre-season, was terrific in that position!

No chance Lingard plays LWB competitively. I would however, be happy to give Mitchell a run of games there if needed be. LB by trade, quick and willing to get involved. I do agree, we need Shaw back ASAP though.

Not that sold on using a 3 at the back formation tbh, we're hardly stacked with good defenders.

I suspect we will mostly be 4-3-3, but this is a new alternative formation to that and the 4-2-3-1.

Done well in the u23s since he has been converted from a winger to a FB. I know speaking with someone that a few Prem and Champ clubs are after him, Willock, Riley on loan.

3 at the back will be our least used system in my opinion, just against certain opponents/in certain scenarios. 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 will be used more.

Like Jose said, it's going to be a fun headache for him this season. This squad offers tactical flexibility more than most.

Borthwick-Jackson to Leeds? any you reds know anything few leeds fans claiming nearly done. so 2 questions anything on the red side? also is he championship level ready and what should I expect from him? 3 questions I guess lol

Been talks for a while about it. Looks like it's gonna happen. He's defo Champ level, maybe even lower to mid Prem level. Better LB than CB for me. But will play well at either. Amazing cross on him. Not very good in the air. Good in the tackle.
