Won't affect their qualification like but a highly embarrassing non-display which deserved the loud boos the end in Toulouse. (First time in over a Century they've failed to beat Luxembourg and the first ever draw between the two Nations.).

Pogba's out the next qualifier BTW after a needless booking but as it's a back-to-back end the qualifiers he'll doubtless still get called up.

The French game was weird because they did actually take them to shreds. And created really good chances. How they didn't concede is madness. People can talk about attitude (Not really the issue in this game) but Luxembourg were extremely lucky to get away with a point
 
battering teams and completely dominating but unable to score goals?that rings a bell.....
 
Loan update. Will post these every now and then to see how our lads are doing

Andreas Pereira became the eighth member of the Manchester United squad to move away from the club on loan this summer, when sealing a temporary switch to Valencia.

Only one of the Reds is still competing in the Premier League, Crystal Palace's Tim Fosu-Mensah, with Matty Willock, like Pereira, plying his trade overseas with Dutch outfit FC Utrecht.

Under-23s coach Ricky Sbragia will be keeping close tabs on the loanees as part of his role and is ensuring they are all settling into their new environments.

"I'm getting to know the ones on loan and will speak to them to find out how they are," he told ManUtd.com. "I enjoy that. I know from when I first came here that the big thing for us is to see how players are settling and what difficulties they are having. Having people from United going to watch them and speaking to them, rather than calling on the phone, makes it more personal and face-to-face so I'm happy with that.

"It shows they are far from being forgotten and, from my point of view, I like to do it. I will always pick a game that is convenient, if I have a day off, and will see how they are getting on."

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (Leeds)
The full-back has appeared three times for the Championship side, and is unbeaten in those matches following two Carabao Cup wins over Port Vale and Newport County and a 0-0 league draw with Preston, when ex-Red Ben Pearson was sent off.

Tim Fosu-Mensah (Crystal Palace)
It's been a notable start to the campaign for the Dutchman who made his competitive debut for the Netherlands against France. The cap came on the back of some impressive personal displays for Palace, even if the Eagles have yet to score in the Premier League. He has played in all four of the Londoners' matches this term as a key part of the defence.

Dean Henderson (Shrewsbury Town)
The England Under-21 international has made five appearances for the Shrews and is gaining valuable experience between the sticks. He has kept two clean sheets already for Lee Hurst's team and the Town boss told the Shropshire Star: "I think it's a great platform for him coming here and playing League One football. Hopefully, it gets him seen a bit more in a competitive first-team game in the leagues."

Sam Johnstone (Aston Villa)
The reliable keeper has played five times for Steve Bruce's Midlanders this season after spending the end of last term with the Championship club. After a slow start, Villa are showing signs of improvement and Johnstone is holding down the no.1 slot, despite competition from Jed Steer, and making some fine saves.

Andreas Pereira (Valencia)
The promising midfielder sealed a return to La Liga on the final day of the Spanish transfer window after spending 2016/17 at Granada. It is expected he will make his debut for the Mestalla outfit in Saturday's game against Atletico Madrid after being handed the no.11 shirt.

Regan Poole (Northampton Town)
The Welshman has a new manager as his former boss at Newport, Justin Edinburgh, has been replaced by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Poole's only start so far came in a 1-0 home reverse to Fleetwood Town, with Andy Cole's son Devante grabbing the winner. However, the centre-back did help Wales Under-21s beat Switzerland 3-0.

Devonte Redmond (Scunthorpe United)
The midfield man has been involved in four games for The Iron since making his loan move. He came off the bench in two Carabao Cup games, including a defeat to Middlesbrough when former United colleague Ashley Fletcher was on the scoresheet. The 20-year-old made his League One bow as a late substitute in a 4-0 win at Plymouth Argyle and got 90 minutes under his belt in a 3-1 success against Sunderland in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Matty Willock (Utrecht)
The leggy midfielder joined brother Chris, who left Arsenal for United's Champions League rivals Benfica, in making a continental move during the window. Coach Erik ten Hag believes the youngster will thrive in the Netherlands, saying: "We are confident, having seen him play many times in the Premier League youth games, to promise that he can add value to Utrecht."

 
Manchester United's executive-vice chairman Ed Woodward has been appointed onto UEFA's Professional Football Strategy Council, following changes to the committee and leadership of the European Club Association.

The position sees Mr Woodward placed as one of four senior executives in the role, who will advise and assist in the structure of European football's governing body, while he continues with his daily duties and position at Manchester United.

The United chief is the only executive in English football to hold the role and is joined by representatives from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Celtic to form the newly appointed advisory board.

Speaking of his new position, Ed Woodward commented: "I am delighted to have been appointed to represent the ECA on UEFA's Professional Football Strategy Council. The PFSC plays a vital role in shaping football across the continent and ensuring that it develops in a sustainable way, to the benefit of the game as a whole."

Further changes to the European Club Association have seen Juventus' Andrea Agnelli become the second ECA chairman, following Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who served in the position since the body was founded in 2008.

In recognition of his significant contribution and commitment to the development of European club football over the past nine years, Rummenigge was awarded the first-ever ECA honorary chairmanship.

Also taking up a new position is former United keeper and now Ajax's chief executive officer, Edwin van der Sar, who has been appointed as second vice-chairman to the ECA executive Board.

Figured you, in particular, would appreciate this hard but enjoyable watch on a bona fide football, let alone Utd, legend. People think Bailly's special. This guy was something else among all his flaws.

Premier League World Special - Paul McGrath

Never knew Ferguson and Utd had tried to pay him off to retire early back in '89 when they wanted to be rid of his drinking problem. What a horrible practice. Thankfully he turned that down as the last 10 years he just got better and better without training and just tipping up of a Sat'day and dominating. Freak of Nature.

We know he can do it. We know he has all the ability. What he needs is constant game time, to continue his development. I'm pretty sure that he would not be starting hardly any games on loan in the prem.

Jose Mourinho is expected to be approached over extending his Manchester United contract in November, the mid-point of his existing deal, which ends in 2019.

Any new agreement will depend on the team’s performance this season and although the end of May will be the telling point, negotiations about the future are expected to start before Christmas to enable a smooth conclusion to any potential deal next summer.

Neither of Mourinho’s two predecessors in the job, Louis van Gaal and David Moyes, have lasted beyond two years at Old Trafford.

How do you? What have we seen from hin in the PL that gives him that?

I mean, he can do it in La Liga.... so can others. But a lot have struggled to adapt and PL football is a lot different.

To answer that you'd have to both know if any PL clubs were even interested and if so, were they right ones for his development?

Not as easy as just saying 'loan him here or there.'

Ok he's not done it in the prem as you say. But if he can perform to such a high level against the likes of Madrid, Atletico and Barca I'm sure he can do it in the Prem. Prem proven is so overstated imo!

Mourinho says United have had a good transfer window but still have a "weakness" in the squad.

He also promised that every squad player will have played by the end of the month. And he has a full set of players except Rojo and Zlatan to choose from.
