The Manchester United Thread

No question about talent, I'm talking about able to slot in to the United squad without looking out of place. For me, only Tuanzebe & Mitchell strike me for it in this moment of time.

I quite like Olesunde, but has looked vert poor today positionally. Was left spinning and having to (hesitantly) close down acres of space from his man few times. Looked good in past when I saw him in games United saw a lot of the ball

Changed away out, lost privileges to the TV lol. Keep me updated

Agree. Gonna take time for the promoted u18s to get use to the added pace and physicality going up a level. Especially the ones who haven't been 18 long and are still eligible for the u18s.

Yeah like Olusunde. Defo a player in there got all the attribute to be a good FB. Strong, Quick, Decent dribbler, good work rate and tackler. Needs to work on his positioning.

U18s 1-0 up atm. Barlow with the goal from a Gomes corner and Garner poor shot from the edge of the box. All over them apparently. Gomes and Barlow just been selected for England u19s to.

No changes at HT :O Nearly concede a forth 2 mins after kick off. Nice by Boonen and Bohui to create a good chance. Please just take Hamilton off nearly costs us another.

Boonen been very lively since HT!

Does anyone think Shaw will realistically ever be the player again we want him to be? I'm just struggling to see it.

Good run out for Wilson defo got better as the match went on with a couple of good chances. Shaw and Boonen been different gravy to anyone in this second half! Great partnership on the left. We've been loads better now Spurs can't get out there half hardly.

As bad as we was first half we've been great this second half! Could of drawn even won with better finishing. Warren and Tuanzebe been dominant at the back especially Warren. Olesunde making good driving runs forward from RFB. McTominey bossed the CM area. Bohui been dangerous running behind. Same for Mitchell. Buffonge has been class since coming on! Boonen been fantastic showing why he's so highly rated and was wanted by nearly every top club in Europe. And Shaw showing what he will bring to the first team. Bombing up and down that left wing. Winning headers making some crunching tackles. And driving runs into the box and good overlapping runs.

Would expect Blind to be even more cautious tomorrow, dealing with Mahrez. Did a number on him a couple of times defensively, most impressively in Community Shield last season (hope I'm remembering right), so we need Rashford or Martial to be really on their game tomorrow down that left. I'd go Martial.

He does well defensively (hope I haven't jinxed it), just really wished he offered more going forward. Against Swansea there was so much room for overlapping runs.

Just have to wait for Shaw I guess, I'm sceptical whether he's ever going to be that player we all thought he once could be, but he definitely deserves to be given another opportunity this season to show it.

I wouldn't hold my breath.
What do you make of the Kieran Tierney rumours?

If you watched his 2 games on th u23s he can easily be that player again. Especially that second half yesterday he was absolute machine. Just needs fitness to build up. You guys worrying to much and writing him off already is silly imo.

Not much point targeting him imo, an even more raw Shaw. If we can't get Shaw back to his best, and push him on, then we should target a top level left back, either at the top of his game, or starting to approach it

Could almost be as silly as talking him up after two Under 23's matches ;)

It's all down to the man himself... He has a chance, so it's his choice. He can either grab his career by the b****x and put 100% into it, or become an also ran at a club like Sunderland.

He's also got to be lucky enough to stay injury free too. Not entirely down to the man himself.

He's looked sharp and a cut above in the two games he's played, that's as much as could be asked for until he plays a first team game
