Nick Powell as a Centre Mid? Not sure about this personally, is Fergie just trying to make numbers there because he was really effective for Crewe playing in the AMC position, do not quite understand why Fergie would want to change him and does he even have the qualities to become a CM, guess we will find out.

Didn't know you were a regular viewer of Crewe last season. :)

I am not, but he was brilliant for them in that position and it just seems odd that you would want to take that away and make him a CM, can't we just buy a normal CM for once, how many years has it been now.

Some of the best CM started out as versatile AMC. I think Fergie knows what he's doing :)

Fergie asked Crewe's manager about it and their manager confirmed that whilst he played in ACM last year he is really more of a CM, (deep lying playmaker is what has been reported). TRUST IN FERGIE!

Not doubting Fergie, would be silly to do so. But how long is it going to take for us to sign a natural CM, the issue still has not been addressed and I think Cleverley/Anderson/Scholes/Carrick/Giggs (not good there imo) (Fletcher we do not have a clue when or if) these options are not good enough to compete in Europe and the Premier League, we need a quality CM added there.

I assume Powell will not be starting much this season so that is why I did not include him. Kagawa I hope will play as an AMC.

We're a third through July. You're literally the most impatient fan ever.

Maybe so, but Fergie usually completes his main transfer business before pre-season, which is four days away I believe.

I don't think I've ever seen a happy response from zzeezzy

We've also bought players on the last day of the window. We didn't give up on Sneidjer till middle of august. Negotiations take time, and its not like there is some arbitrary july cut off date.

Ferguson said that due to Euros it would take time. he also said that he would have done the business if the players would have been back from holiday and now that they are he is looking ti sign 1 or 2 players.

I read Powell's interview. seems a very down to earth guy.I think he'd a have crucial role to play later in the season.not sure why just have that gut feeling that fergie is about to blend a lot of youngsters this season like that 94-95 season. I said blend not start with them.

How am I 'the most impatient fan ever'. It has been years since we have signed a Central Midfielder and it has proven again and again throughout the season how much we have lacked a quality one. For example last season.. relying on Park for the City game, I recall playing Rafael in the middle of the pitch against someone, etc. All vital factors that probably did count towards us losing the title, or should I say definitely did. This issue has not been addressed season after season for a fair while.

At the moment we have Cleverley and Anderson (both seem to be very injury-prone), Carrick (one reliable starter week in week out imo), Scholes (very good option to have but by no means going to be a regular considering age), Nick Powell (Fergie wants to turn him into a CM but I highly doubt he will force him into that slot this season), Darren Fletcher (out of contention for start of season and I am not convinced yet whether he will return).

So that leaves us with two injury-prone CM's who are yet to prove themselves, especially Anderson who has been given a fair few chances, make or break season for him I think. Scholes who is going to be a rotational option, Nick Powell who has barely played as a CM for Crewe, so relying on him for United in his first season would be quite a task for the young man. Michael Carrick who is the one CM I can safely say I am confident he will have a big role to play this season, week in week out.

AND YOU THINK BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T SIGNED ONE A MINUTE INTO THE TRANSFER WINDOW = NOT SIGNING ONE. There's a month and a half till the end of the window, post this on 1st September. What you posted has nothing to do with impatience, you're right, we need a CM. You're impatient because you refuse to wait until pre-season has even started to judge if we'll sign one or not.

Has anyone seen reports in dutch/english media about united in negotiations for a 22m pound deal for christian eriksen, with ajax lining up a bid for mayer, maher cant remember his name as a replacement for eriksen?

Eriksson's going to be top, but he's way too young to move from Ajax and play on the big stage. just look at him in the Euros

Would be great player but is he really what we want? IMO no.

Joao Paulo (Sao Paulo VP): "We have offers for Lucas Moura from Manchester United & Real Madrid, we are studying them internally."

I think it is just to bump his price. Inter are interested and looks like they are throwing names liek ManUtd and Madrid to bump his price.

Also he is a winger/AM where we have enough talent.

Saying that I won't be surprised if we are really interested as SAF signed players before they were signed by other teams. Maybe he sees a potential superstar in him.

CM and a LB please.
