The Manchester United Thread

Lol. He's no Zidane to say the least, but I think every opposition can agree they'd rather not have the Belgian giant on the pitch. I'd imagine he's torture to play against.

He honestly shouldn't be allowed to face anyone. Fella's a serious danger to opposition players every time he takes to the field with his elbows.

He might be effective but he's nothing more than a yard dog thug in boots who wouldn't look out of place a pub side.

Still can't believe Utd continue to employ someone like that.

I really enjoy Fellaini playing to wind up snobs, as if their sides have never contained dirty players

LOL. Loving this 'snob' line.

Also waiting wih interest to see the change in attitude when he's no longer at Utd from Utd followers like there was from Evertonians from when he played to when he left.

But regardless, back to the Internationals ......

Not that Holland deserve much of anything, but today brings home again the joke of little Nations that should be nowhere near competing. Sweden wallop Luxembourg 8 and now Holland are needing double figures against Sweden to qualify. How FIFA can justify goal difference/ goals scored and not head-to-heads is beyond me with joke results like 8 in International footie.

*Edit* They need to win 7 against the Swedes sorry. Not double figures. But the point still stands as that isn't happening either.

You're exaggerating a tad. Agreed he's no saint, and he's liable to naively react at times, but he's no more a "danger" than the next 6ft+ guy who happens to contest a lot of physical battles.

Tbh, a lot of his fouls are quite clumsy as opposed to malicious. He looks at the referee with genuine shock at times lol, always makes me chuckle

Yeah, a torture to avoid being knocked out by his flying elbows. Honestly, all jokes aside the last thing you want to see in the last 20mins is an aerial bombardment with fellaini at the end of it.

Aww come on RhQQ. Take the Utd view out of the equation and he's a serious danger with his elbows. He even looks at the opponent 9 times out 10 before he swings them so it's not as if it's a natural jumping motion or protecting himself.

He's my guilty pleasure. I've hated him from afro to toe at times, but the big buffoon keeps unconsciously winning me over by coming up with the goods when it matters most.

I love to dislike him? Or I hate that I sorta like him... I can't describe it.

He's not even in the top 10 of fouls committed. You have to go back to 14/15 to find him there, where he is number 1 at 2.3 a game

He's awkward and gangly and a complete pain in the **** unless he's playing for you.

Yeah I agree that Fellaini is just awkwardly moving rather than trying to hurt people. Can't really blame him either, he's one of those guys with weird body shape where his proportions literally make no sense. It's like, imagine that John Cleese has afro and plays football, and you have Fellaini.

I know people will knock this view, but this is why we should NEVER of loaned Pereira. No I'm not saying he would of been the answer, but I always knew a few injuries and suddenly we are lacking midfielders.

Sure, he may not be a CM per se, but he can play there and is one of the most creative young players we have. We could of set up with a 4-3-3 with Herrera, Matic and Pereira.

Rather than the inevitable Carrick, Matic and Herrera. Which honestly, we'll be overrun and clutching for a draw with that. Probably would anyway.

Mate, he would have never played in this game. It's moot to stall his development over it.

I'd still have gone Carrick over AP. Ask yourselves this, he's creative sure, but what would his function be. Our game is going to be picking out players on the break from deep, while maintain midfield disciple. Absolutely none of that is his strength

It was his choice he asked Mourinho to leave, despite being told he was needed. He didn’t want to stay and be patient and fight for his place. It was the best thing to loan him out keep him happy and get regular game time. He chose this not the club.

Away to Liverpool would be by an absolute mile the biggest game of APs career. There is absolutely no chance he would have started this game. None at all

He's a bit of both, some games he plays to win the ball, some games he plays to hit the man.. his style is always a nice option to have and the bench or in the squad at any level.

If he wants to with creative energy, Mata will play as the most advanced CM

Lovely free-kick from Gomes on Three Lions duty.

Was. Even if it was past the outfielder in goal.

Thoroughly dominant start to their 17's WC from first minute to last continuing on from the Euros the summer.

Just don't envy them being in India.
