The Manchester United Thread

Alderweireld, Sandro and Griezmann/Bale now please!8-|
Not sure we need another attacker with Martial likely staying. Periera coming back. No sound of Maya leaving. Rather another CM, CB, LB. obviously wouldn’t sniff at Bale or Griezmann but not a priority for me.

Just watching Belgium on MUTV. Lukaku scored. Also good to see Januzaj making a good career now turning himself around.

Fellaini just scored too.

Fred supposed to got some injury at training, hope not big. Gutted to be cut out so close to World Cup

Rashford actually given freedom to play football and enjoy himself.

Funny the result of that huh?

Rashfords had plenty of opportunities this season. And for most parts his been largely disappointing. That’s nothing to do with his freedom or out style of play. That’s been down to him and only him. His decision making and end product has been shocking especially the decision making!

He's had freedom and actually been really inconsistent this season...
Which is to be expected from a young player. Mind you he could be hitting form at just the right time for the English National team....

There’s opportunity’s and there’s being played out of position in a structured manner. And then having your manager tell the World you aren’t good enough to play in your natural position, along with being in and out of the side, after not playing you there all year, to knock a kids confidence even further.

Only one problem with Martial and Rashford and it’s not the kids to me like you’ve been slamming them most games and poor performances through the year.

Except he's a) never said that about Rashford b) Rashford came through the ranks playing wide and centre forward. To say he's out of position out wide is a lie, especially as that's where he's play most of his time for England too.

As for in and out the side, Rashford has played over 100 games for Jose alone, averaging just over 60 minutes a game. Lets not pretend he's being starved of game time. He's 20 years old and still growing and learning. Quite happy not burning the kid out

I agree, Rashford has had the freedom at united. He comes deep to often doing pointless 1-2’s with players and is very inconsistent. What he did last night wasn’t a surprise. He is exactly like Martial, 1 great game then goes missing the next.

What helps with England, that doesn't happen as much at United, is the full back gets beyond him, so he gets a lot more support.

But this idea that he's out of position needs to be put to bed. He was playing 10 last night, doesn't play there for club or country virtually ever.

Bingo! Hopefully that will change next season and has already started by the signing of Dalot.

Aww Mike come on mate. He didn’t need to name him. It was blatantly obvious who it was directed at.

The amount of players he’s thrown under the bus this past season has been staggering.

But I’m not getting into a debate on how he’s slowly ruining your club and players so I’ll pull out of this here.

It wasn't aimed at him. The season everyone said he wouldn't play when Jose took over, he made more appearances than anyone at the club. Rashford has made his biggest leaps under Jose.

The club is in better shape than its been since Ferguson, but still a way to go, so I do agree you pull out of it here.

I think one of Rashfords biggest issues this season has been poor decision making in the big moments that has let him down. Shooting from an incredibly tight angle instead of squaring to a wide open martial against Brighton (I think) sort of sums his season up for me

Tbh I can't really think of one united attacking player who had a particularly good season apart from Lukaku.
