The Manchester United Thread

Brazil’s mad depth Rh with the Madrid lad and the lad at City coming off boss seasons. No doubt with the City one (name escapes me?) the back end of his career it’ll open things back up.

Looked very elegant and tactically savvy the 6 halves he’s had to date without blowing you away like Naby has. City was ironically his most up and down but that was a weird first half to work out the middle with Lallana deep alongside him! Interesting how it looked great him dropping in to an almost libero like position behind the two CH’s allowing them more scope and security to come forward. To then have Klopp saying he doesn’t want him deep. So we’ll see but he looks a **** smart footballer to me who’s clicked immediately with Naby.

This sounds bad but I'll be watching the boxing over the United vs Liverpool match. I just don't take anything much from pre-season, especially when we'll be seeing a Liverpool first team (give or take) against a United team of reserves and kids. With some first teasers perhaps here and there.

Parker vs Whyte is just one fight that could go either way! (for anyone who cares about boxing).

I just find it a bit odd that Fabinho doesn't get a look in Internationally tbh. I mean, at least the squad?

Starting to second guess the pretty high regards I held him to, felt like an idiot when I rated Smalling in LVG era, hope it's not something similar - I was screaming out for him or Matic last season. Mourinho & Guardiola not signing him when he was practically begging to be snapped up by one of them is my biggest suspicion.

My mate said he's also underwhelmed a little in friendlies so far, not sure as I haven't seen him (and they are friendlies after all). But maybe his reputation exceeds his actual ability? Have a better idea tonight how he fits. Can't wait for the match, half the first XI missing or not, it's Manchester United vs. Liverpool.
Bit of a jack of all trades master of non for me. Defo not the second coming like Scouse would have you believe ;)

Dont remember once ever saying he was gonna be one of 2 most dominant CMs in the league but hey which ever way you wanna soon it ;)

Don’t believe I said he was.

Fabinho and Keita instantly becoming among the best in the league in their respective positions. Now you’re talking and not being naughty and changing things.

But hey, you regularly have 16-year-olds as top drawer players so yer know? Who knows what you said about senior ones. ;)

This is your ridiculous outlandish claim no matter what you say!

We’ve already added Fabinho and Keita d. No more two dominant midfielders the entire league their respective roles.

So you quote me just what I just reiterated again.

How strange?

And again, there was nothing outlandish about Fabinho when you wouldn’t shut up about him a year ago. Just like Alderweireld was utterly boss until Levy put a mamouth price on his head and Utd stepped back. Now the narrative from you is trending to (paraphrasing) well, he’s pushing 30 and coming off a dead poor year so he’s no longer really that good.

You do this constantly mate. Go way over board in excitement on a rumour then completely flip the other way when it doesn’t happen.

FFS. Way to post on an ambiguous message board.

You gonna’ selectively pull everyone and ask for a suitable clarification or just me?

Tbh I think I was one of the very few who wanted Matic over Fabinho. But hey ho.

I don’t know what’s madder here.

z thinking L’pool are first XI strong currently or you rewriting your own history.

Maybe it’s the heat? *Polite me.

Mitchell, Tuanzebe & Fosu-Mensah are talented youngsters, but they can't be on the bench and on the pitch at the same time.

Smalling had all of us fooled, don't be so hard on yourself. After few years have passed it became obvious that LVG's highly structured football was simply camouflaging Smalling's weaknesses. But back then? It just looked as if Smalling is playing amazing because we didn't realize he is just roboticly following what he is told.
