Ferdinand- good when he is fit

Vidic- Good defender but is a bit rash and always seems to pick up red cards in tough domestic games'

Evans- Average, nothing spectacular

Smalling- Good defender but not primed for greatness or something same with Phil Jones

Vidic picks up red cards in tough domestic games? How many did he get?

Smalling is not spectacular, He is CB ffs. Oh spectacular means like how Luiz gets caught out of position often?

now to mine.. Vidic and Ferdinand are the best partnership in the Premier League and I'd say the world when both on song. Smalling and Jones clearly have potential and as long as we take advantage of that, they'll turn out very good players. Evans isn't my fravorite player by a long short but does the job when ever called upon.

I'd still have United defensive options then any other team in the Premier League.

Maybe addons, at max we may pay 3-4 Million extra, for the years of service he will provide (Considering his potential) it may well worth it :)
worth every penny cant wait to him in united shirt ecitin times ahead at old traffoed this season for shore!

twice vs Liverpool, 1 vs Chelsea... good enough for me

btw when did I ever mention Luiz is a world-beater, good on you to make a judgment on his first half-season in English Football anyways

Really?

Chris Smalling played more than enough games this season due to the fitness worries over Rio. Phil Jones can also play in the middle of the park should Sir Alex opt to play him there. No matter what happens, they are both at the right club for their career's to progress and managered by the best manager in the game. Evans how ever will be lucky to get on the bench.

3 red cards in 6 years? Wow thats very rash. He has the habit of picking red card very often.

That what do you mean by spectacular?
And how do you rate Terry, Luiz then?

anyways how do u reckon ur gonna give all of them sufficient game time

Vidic is a mainstay, Ferdinand is always first choice when he is fit, meaning that you have three defenders battling it out for 1 spot when Ferdinand eventually injures himself which may not even happen'

Hopefully all of them enjoy Reserve football

sigh.....

same way smalling played so many games this season. Rio is injury prone

Not sure how you say that about Smalling, unless of course you havent watched him this season, both of them are at similar ability

Jones can also play DMC; a role we have no one in

Its called buying for the future, something chelsea could learn

He did say "Tough" domestic games ;)
But no, I don't think he actually got a straight red. Just a frustrated 2nd Yellow

You ever heard of rotation? It's a wonderful thing where a manager decides to use different players each game to give some players first team experience, and to keep the team fresh.
Suppose you wouldn't know about it tbh. Chelsea's rotation means giving players the most subs appearances in the league |)

yes thats why we bought Luiz and Ramires and are trying to break the likes of Bruma, Sturridge and Josh into our first team

last time i checked they were all the verge of retirement pity

I dont think Terry-Luiz are feared just like Man Utds Central defensive unit which according to Stubbs will be feared

so ur counting on Rio to be injured every season so Smalling gets his appearances, what if Rio finds himself fit... aye that would be a bit of a bother

Phil Jones can play in the middle of the park, is he any good there to command a place is another question

You mean Vidic, who was sent off once this season in the 90th minute, when he was clearly frustrated that Chelsea had got every decision all game? It was a debatable red too.

Vidic is possibly the best defender in the world, and the way you just presume that Smalling and Jones won't make it to the top is ridiculous. Vida was only booked 6 times in 49 games for United, comparable to Terry (8y in 46), Ivanovic (12y in 46), Alex (3y in 16) and Luiz (3y in 11)

course but when u got 5 defenders fighting for 2 spots even Rafa will find it hard to rotate ;)

You took fear means trembling with fear, shivering legs, can't even walk properly infront of those players?

Rio is excellent when fit - but he's 32 now.
Vidic is the best in the world, but we were forced to play him last season when we were giving other a rest so now he can rest too.
Smalling is quality for his age, and perfect fit for Rio when he retires/is injured.
Jones is excellent too and a good replacement for Vidic or Rio and can also play in midfield if necessary.
Evans had a poor season but has got lots of potential and can play LB if necessary, although I fear he's the one closest to the exit door

We like rotating, and now in Carling Cup games/FA Cup/Champions League games that aren't top priority they will get games.

trying? they have barely featured, and you are looking to sign lukaku and neymar, and sneijder; not sure where they can break through.

But thats neither here or there, i answered you on how they will play so lets leave it at that

No not at all, you read what I said wrong. Smalling got his chance because Rio was injured last season, given the choice I would rather have Rio in ahead of Chris at the moment any day of the week but with his performances last season and the progression he has made, he looks an ideal replacement to Rio who isn't getting any young. Phil Jones will also get games next season believe you me.

again when did i ever mention Chelsea's defenders are picture perfect and just for ur info Vidic got these cards against the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea... games where it is important for u not get to get a card whatever time it is cos both these teams can punish u if ur down to ten men

course but when u got 5 defenders fighting for 2 spots even Rafa will find it hard to rotate ;)

Rafa? What is this madness?

Also, Evans and Jones can play a different position. Helps abit.

now ur making statements without backing them up with some logic, why would i believe you..... Im just merely wondering what happens to Evans who all of u have convienently left out of the discussion plus if Smalling is a ideal replacement for Rio then your 15m signing Jones is .....?

He got redcard in the 90th min against Chelsea There are many big games. Arsenal, Liverpool, ManCity, Spurs, Everton are all big games and most of the times he puts in MOTM performance..

slightly but as i mentioned them having the ability to play their different positions sucessfully is another question... even Luiz can play across the back 4 but do i want him as my full-back is another question

ok so his two red cards vs Liverpool were a MOTM performance, good to see the faith
