The Manchester United Thread

no not really, he can always change his formation if other teams get used to it, how can u b sure he is gonna stick with the same formation in every CL game?

Just like how Carlo did mid-way through the season when he saw that his 4-4-2 diamond was being exploited by other teams and he changed to his 4-3-3

whatever formation it is,im pretty confident jones smalling and evans will get more games thn chelsea's youngsters.

he plays 4-3-3/4-2-3-1/4-4-1-1/4-4-2 etc as and when needed, when we play with a holding player he will play jones. Most of our euro games especially away, play 3 man mids. Jones is actually more likely to be key in europe as opposed to the prem

well u seem to believe that u know Utd's are going to play 4-3-3 in every CL game for years to come until Fergie deems Jones suitable enough to fill the DM position, im jus wondering if Unitec change their formation before that and Fergie may/will u never know

He wont be playing every game. We play 4-3-3 most of the time and Jones will get games as DM if not as a CB at United.. And also in league he will get games as CB as Rio is way too injury prone and Vidic deserves rest too..

agreed, if Jones does not do well there are always other options, its depends on how well he adapts, agree with ur points

we seem to be moving in circles here, Rio is injury-prone yes but does that mean he is gonna b injured next season, maybe not meaning he is automatically first choice

Vidic deserves a rest so ur saying that when Vidic does get a rest for those 5-6 games, its either Smalling/Jones/Evans for his spot

Jones should get games as DM but as I mentioned whether he will perform that role to a good standard is another question but we can only speculate

Suppose he cant do it, then what happens?

re: Rio, his fitness record in the last 3 years is not good. he is 32, its not going to get any better, its only more likely to get worse. He is not going to have a 40 game season sadly.

It affords us the luxury of managing Rio Ferdinand more carefully. It's inevitable that his back problems will flare up again at some point, but with the extra squad depth we don't need to take any risks.

Rio is injury prone means he is very prone to injury. You think i can tell you exact date when Rio will get Injured? Come on mate, you are not thick I know..

Brown and O'shea will be out and replaced by Jones.

We needed a Midfielder who is willing to tackle and Jones can.

Even when Rio is fit, he wont play all games as he has very bad back and will be protected for Important games.

Lol, all 3 making the same point at the same time.. Great minds.. ;)

Whats all this about Jones getting games??

Is it not clear to anyone, that this just means Brown will defo go, and most likely O'shea as well.

Gibson is set to sign for Sunderland according to Sky.. Really hope he prove all the doubters wrong and show is talent. He is talented lad but didnt get run of games. I have a feeling he will be good signing for Sunderland and he is a genuine goal threat from outside the box..

Good luck Gibson..

Yes good luck!!! Hope he smashes some goals in for them vs our rivals :) Bye FM-Base im going to Greece for 10 days! :/ Gonna miss this place :D I love FM-Base , can't get from it... lol

Skysports.com understands Sunderland are closing in on the signing of Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson.

yeah i forgot u were part of Chelsea's backroom staff and Man Utd's backroom staff.... how did u manage that mate?

aye but he never showed his promise so thats why we gave him to Hamburg

Brums was never going to get many PLM appearances under his belt behind the likes of Terry, Luiz, Alex and Ivanovic and at Hamburh he will get quality experience playing in a top league for a good club, pretty sure he will come back once we sell of Alex in a couple of years, good decision my Chelsea I think, we need to clean up the situation and give the new manager a squad full of players who can stake a claim for the first team rather than fringe players

Alcarez, this is your last post in Chelsea thread. How do you know he will come back, are you part of Chelsea backroom staff to know all these?

its pretty obvious unless u would like to play Brums ahead of Luiz and Ivanovic in a CB spot plus its no secret that Alex is getting on and realistically if we are to make space for Brums he will have to go plus in my last sentence i was clearly speculating rather than making any concrete statements.... obviously i can b wrong but if u see the post made xhellmagic then u can see that he was making a concrete statment

Also i said I am pretty sure he will come back as he is highly rated by the fans and players I never said he most definetly will

When everyone is pointing fingers saying that it is a bad signing for both player and club and he wont get games, these kind of posts are bound to happen..

We can all wait and see whether he gets games or not as we are very sure he will as we dont have DM and Rio is very injury prone..

I said that its my opinion that its a bad signing and I gace my logic on why other should adopt this opinion, obviously your entitled to to your own opinion but when members like xhellmagic make posts like:

Whatever happens they will get more appearances than Chelsea Youngsters

That obviously is just a stupid statement backed up by no logic/evidence and unless he is has Fergie and Roman's ear at the same time he cant make concrete statements like this, obviously if he backed it up with some logic like Chelsea never have paid attention to Sturridge so why should they now, then we can debate from there on

It is easy to work out really mate. All of chelsea youngsters will be at HSV by august 31st.

Strong rumours that Ferguson is at the game today between Switzerland and Iceland at the U21 tournament, although some are saying that he's still on holiday. Either way MUFC are being represented at the game.

Really hope we try and sign Shaqiri/Xhaka. Xhaka is quality.
