The Manchester United Thread

It is when you realise Molde have never won it in their history until he did it, playing football not too far off United's style. Easily ahead of Giggs and Neville

Detracts from my claim that its either Pep or Jose for the job. #winners

Being a successful manager is no more or less managerial experience than someone who's never been a manager?

If that's the case, I might send in an application form.
Please do when such a vacancy appears

Did you watch much of Molde last year?

Games against Sarpsborg, Rosenborg, Viking, Tromso and Valerenga, bits of others, admittedly only to see what he was upto. Split 4-4-2/4-2-3-1 shape, more classic Ferguson.

Winning a league in Norway with strong financial backing is no more or less experience than Giggs and GNev have.
I believe he made a profit from his transfers. Not really relying on the strong financial backing.

I think it will be a British Manager has Manchester United have never had a foriegn manager in their history(I think)

Thats just wrong....
Lol, why? Evra is not what he was and he just frustrates me with his going forward with menance but just jogs back even if they are on the counter ( on second thought, not hopefully, I just want him dropped for a while to give him a sense of competition at the club, comment retracted but still think Rio will soon be injured, he seems to get injured every season of late)

Well, it's just wrong to wish someone get injured, specially if he's playing for your team..

Judging by the question you yourself asked, he's not wishing injury on Evra, rather hoping that it is Evra over, say, Van Persie.

Being a United fan myself I just don't think United will do very well this season.

I think most United fans realize that United biggest problem was in the midfield area. We didn't have someone who can protect our back four other than Carrick and the yet to fully recover Fletcher. Yes we have some very good players in terms of attack but the same cannot be said in terms of defense. If SAF didn't address this problem quickly, it will be hard for us to take the tittle back from City. I'm not saying that we have to buy a ball winning or defensive midfielder, there are ways to solve this problem. Taking a different approach when the team are off possession for example, like play the full pitch aggressive pressing game rather than false pressing the opposition.

Don't want Guardiola thank you, I'd prefer someone with close ties to the club. Solskjaer please

World class manager over manager who is yet to manage a big club any time. Almost all ManUtd fans want Ole to be our manager long term and wish he becomes great manager to manage manUtd but as of now he is not what we need.

If SAF retires this year, bringing in Ole would be very dangerous and might backfire big time. Replacing SAF is one of the hardest thing to do in the game, not saying Pep will be 100% success but you need big names or strong characters like Jose to do that, who can handle the job.

Hopefully Ole will go on to become a great manager but I don't think he is ready to take over Manutd job, also considering he will be replacing SAF, it adds even more pressure

Take a Liverpool fans opinion with a pinch of salt but I'd love it if you get Guardiola - he as much continued what Rikjard (spelling) started at Barca as Rodgers did with Martinez at Swansea (an argument I continually hear).

I guess none of you class Frank Rikjard (jees, way off the mark with spelling I know) as being a world class manager?

Really hoping against hope that you don't get Mourinho. Luckily none of you seem to want him.

I would take Pep or Moyes long term, or Jose with a view to waiting for Solskjaer, because the latter isnt ready just yet.

Not sure about Frank, is he still even working?
