The Manchester United Thread

The club know that some opponents leave space for Aaron Wan-Bissaka for players to pass the ball to him. United believe it would happen less often with signing of Trippier [@AndyMitten]

Manchester United believe they can persuade Kieran Trippier to return to England. Talks ongoing. The club wants more competition for the right-back position. #mufc believe Trippier has qualities that would come in handy against low blocks. [@AndyMitten]

Massive respect to Hannibal Mejbri for rejecting France and choosing to play for Tunisia. Mejbri is only 19 and has plenty of years left to play for France’s youth teams, but he chose to create something special with Tunisia. Hope this sets a precedent for other dual nationals.

Mejbri is *18 and could weigh up his options and bide his time with France’s youth sides before switching over at 25-28 like a lot of other dual nationals, but he chooses to switch over at a young age. Think this will pay dividends for his career at club and international level.

Man United inserted a sell-on clause when selling Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan in 2019. The sell-on clause was 5% of any future sale. Inter insist that Lukaku will not be sold, but every player has a price. It is rumoured that the price is €120m. #MUFC still owed £43.6m for Rom

@OddsOnFPL
Lukaku's original fee paid was €65m (payable in 5 years) with an additional €10m in bonuses and a 5% sell-on clause. Inter Milan did not pay the most recent payment, a clause in the contract stipulated that if one was missed Inter Milan would be enforced to pay

Shock, horror! The L’pool/ United ‘friendly ‘ double-header has been pulled after the protests last month.

Love to know what nincompoop cane up with the mad idea to begin with? 🤦‍♂️

Yeah just seen that. Read somewhere we are going to play some friendlies in Malta

Someone needs to have a word with Ferdinand.

You lads, rightly, used to laugh at certain L'pool fans for similarly embarrassing, deluded **** like that for much of the PL era.

May I ask what context? The last thing I heard from him was opting to sign a CB instead of a CF (which is a pretty nuanced take)

He went on a cringe mad rant to 'GOAL'-

So let's recap on his 'cold facts' progress nonsense-

Both teams were out the title race in January when City effectively won the league at Anfield.

Utd crashed out of the CL, needing only a point from the last three games to qualify. And then failed to win the Europa. Giving them as successful a season as L'pool had. Champions League qualification through the league.

But this absolute nincompoop is claiming it's a 'cold fact' Utd are now in front of L'pool. A United team, lest we forget, which had it's second-best season since Ferguson retired that finished a WHOPPING five ..... that's FIVE, points ahead of a L'pool side who had a major dropoff due, in no small part, that they went through 20+ different CH partnerships alone! Aside from everything else they had to overcome. Jesus, you fell apart through the last few weeks with no Maguire. Who's absolute dogshit to start with. Imagine just how far down the table you'd have been without any of your top 3 CH's since November?

Utd used to (rightly) laugh their ***** off at us for saying similar through much of the PL era. When we'd finish top 4 and start thinking we were only a couple of players away etc. When, in reality, we were NOWHERE near Ferguson's teams. The same as this Utd vintage is to L'pool and City in reality. Nowhere F near either! Unless you happen to be this humongous gobshite then the former of which they've 'gained so much ground on' and overtaken. 🤦🏼‍♂️

If he honestly believes that's 'progress' and Utd are anything but a team for us to mock whilst we set about the only serious challenges from down the road, City .....

Then yeah, we are sat here laughing our collective ***** off at your delusions too Rio mate. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Soz abar us, like City last year (albeit with far more mitigating circumstances) for having a natural dip season, after 2/3 superhuman ones, and sinking back to Utd's level.

What is it with the F horrendous standard of punditry these days and their complete inability to use any context in anything?

Maybe Rio was throwing bait at ya mate 😂

But on a more serious note, you say you were nowhere near Fergie's teams but you lot won the UCL during that period? Or you were basically a Macheda scorcher from winning the league at one point too? 😜

Haha.Macheda. There’s an infamous bag of ***** name who disappeared without a trace.

Only one person to blame for ‘08/‘09.

And he was/ is a fat lil’ Spanish fella’.

The amount of you talking about United and Ole just firms up the theory that most Liverpool fans are closet United fans :D

*Refrains from mentioning your regular narking at L'pool for fear you'll have another meltdown.

Ta for the nice week ending hilarity though mate. Appreciated. 🍻
