Makes the decision he made even more bizarre!

Marcus Rashford was struggling to get his foot in his boot during training in the final weeks of last season. His ankle ballooned on the way to the Europa League final. Rashford’s ankle could also be looked at when he undergoes shoulder surgery #mulive [@TelegraphDucker]

Good thing we got Sancho then lol.

Jesus.

He’s been poorly managed by both club and Country for way too long on the face of it.

I agree. But he also needs to be looking out for himself. No good saying I’m all good bosses when he knows he’s clearly not. He was advised not to go to the Euros by the club but still chose to. God knows why unless Southgate told him he was gonna play often.

Poorly managed and probably badly advised as well. Mind you how many other young players over the years have picked up an injury and continued to play on thus making matters worse because either the club wanted them to play or the individual felt they were 'invincible.'

Shouldn't happen at all in this day and age with the advancement in medical science knowing when every player is on the brink of injury.

Inexcusable for any club/ Country to listen to the player when he's carrying a bad injury.

Interesting reading in a few places that Ole is going to change back to an attacking 433 this season. Andy Mitten said on one of his latest pod casts that he’s been told there already working on it since the return of training. The only difference is he said he’s not heard that it will be a permanent formation change.

Guess that would be

GK ?
AWB- Varane- Maguire- Shaw
CDM?
Fernandes- Pogba
Sancho- Cavani- Martial

Rumours are we will buy a CDM. But if not god knows who. Mctominey, Fred, Matic, VDB, Garner. Fits into the news by De Telegraf that Ole wants to utilise VDB a lot more this season. Well he could fit in anywhere in a 3.

None of them fit at the base of a 3 - someone who sits there and disrupts attacks (or plays passes further forward). McFred are both B2B midfielders. Garner is a bit too young to take that role full time. Matic doesn't have the legs to cover that role dominantly while vDB has very rarely been a solo DM (and he likes to roam to find space).

Although, a shift to a 4-3-3 definitely means vDB getting more chances - definitely need a proper DM, though.

Also, Pogba and Fernandes in the same midfield seems a bit iffy - unless the DM is a proper, mobile destroyer - a la Ndidi type.

Yeah most likely why we have been heavily linked to a new midfielder for a couple of weeks. Instead of it not being a priority prior to that or even any links. Fred, Mctominey etc will suffice against most teams as we dominate the ball for most games a season. But a good DM will be needed for the rest of the games and as we progress in the later comps.

Also happy about the news that the club won’t entertain any offers for Telles this morning. Don’t want to be losing quality from the depth after having what looks like an excellent window. Also happy tje club are getting incoming signings in first instead of outgoings. Likecprevious windows leaving us short when the season starts still trying to do deals.

Definately a change in direction since the restructure and the appointment of Murtaugh as DOF!

The Manchester United board have this week confirmed their agreement to let Axel Tuanzebe go on a season-long loan. Tuanzebe’s request was based purely on his eagerness to play regular football. #MUFC [@JonathanShrager]

Good move for him needs to play football. And we have a enough CBS now with Varane, Maguire, Linderlof, Bailey, Jones to cover and have good depth for the season. Then hopefully over the next 2 windows can shift a couple out for Tuanzebe to come back and be a genuine squad member.

United confirmed the appointment of former Chelsea Under-23 assistant Eric Ramsay earlier this week as their first set-piece specialist and individual development coach.... United conceded 14 goals from set-pieces last season as it constantly proved to be a thorn in Solskjaer's side, and the appointment of a coach to deal with the problem is certainly a step in the right direction... Ramsay has already got started and his impact will hopefully be clear to see when United return to action..

The DM doesn't have to be a destroyer tbh. Like, I think a Jorginho/Locatelli kinda deep lying playmaker that can dictate play would suffice as well.
