The Manchester United Thread

Yeah it was visible once Casemiro, Martinez, Shaw started struggling/ being subbed and we had to rely on McTominey, Forson, Antony the drop off was huge!

🎟️ United have increased season tickets by another 5% for the 24/25 season.

But exciting change is also coming to Old Trafford.

The club are going ahead with plans to remove the executive seating at the heart of the Stretford End. There will be 1,800 seats available - Priority: 500 for 16-25 ST holders and 1,300 for fans who have applied for 50% of away games over the last three seasons.

A further 1,300 safe standing spots will also be placed in the first tier of the NW quadrant (connecting the SE with the SAF). More than 10% of general admission and all four corners of Old Trafford will be safe standing.

Positive, all in all.

Hugely impressive 4-2 for the u18s in the premier league cup quarter finals against Arsenal. Especially after putting in a huge effort beating Liverpool 4-3 on Wednesday night

Did somebody have a sit down with these lads and tell them their careers are going to be f***ed when they get turfed out of Old Trafford and not a single club in the world will match their wages?

Lisandro Martínez injury update. It’s NOT an ACL injury, sources confirm. Argentinian defender has a sprained collateral ligament — #MUFC hope to have Lisandro back after international break in March. No surgery needed, as @gastonedul has reported.

Manchester United confirm approval of a special resolution to create "a new amended and restated memorandum and articles of association to, among other things, provide for certain transfers of Class B ordinary shares without conversion of such shares into Class A ordinary shares." Vote took place on February 5 at an extraordinary general meeting. This formally allows Sir Ratcliffe to take B shares with enhanced voting power. Another step done in the completion process.

it means they are going to allow Ratcliffe to continue to purchase B shares and retain B voting rights/power. Currently only Glazers can do that.

The original system was that if anybody bought class B shares they instantly transferred into class A and lost half there power in order to prevent the Brothers losing power. Its been amended to allow Ratcliffes deal to take place.

EXCLUSIVE: Sir Jim Ratcliffe has a bold plan for Old Trafford the new ground could cost between £1.5bn and £2bn @TelegraphDucker #TelegraphFootball | #MUFC

EXCL. Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants #MUFC to create the “Wembley of the North” under bold plans for a spectacular new Old Trafford home. Could seek to lobby government for funds amid “Levelling Up” pledges given potential scale/nature of project.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe: “The fans would be quite happy to accept a brand new stadium if we stay where we are. And incorporate its history” [@TelegraphDucker]

This is where the plans for the new stadium have been looked at according to Ducker. After completion a stadium for the women’s and academy would be built in place of OT.

I’m really conflicted over a new stadium vs renovating OT. A new state-of-the-art stadium makes more sense financially but OT is too iconic to let go

Yeah very tough. But as most experts have said it’s a 110 year old building and the costs could be bottomless to renovate and keep fixing things. I wouldn’t mind a hybrid implement some parts of OT into the new stadium. Don’t know if possible though as that would mean finding somewhere else to play
