The Manchester United Thread

Yeah he can honestly be sold . I really don’t care. Last season was a purple patch likely playing for his last big contract. But in all honesty his career has been flashes of brilliance caked in inconsistency

Rashford’s brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, is also at Carrington this morning. #mufc reiterate it’s an ‘internal matter’.

Fined 3 weeks wages apparently

MUFC statement in response to recent media reports about Marcus Rashford:

“Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed.”

He’s back in training and will be available for selection on Thursday.

How the **** is this fair 🤦🏻‍♂️😡😡😡

Manchester United are OUT of the Conti Cup. Aston Villa have been deducted three points for fielding an ineligible player, which have been handed to Sunderland, who now go through in place of United.

So the only ones who got punished for Sunderland losing 7-0 to Villa who fielded an ineligible player are United

So Villa field an ineligible player and their punishment is they still go through but United who originally qualified, don't? Makes sense, well done.

Omar Berrada and #mufc's incoming director of football will ultimately be the ones to determine the fate of Ten Hag [@TelegraphDucker]

Ineos wanted Omar Berrada in place first so he could have input into the choice of #mufc's director of football given their strong belief that the two men and the manager must “share a vision” and work as a “coherent whole” [@TelegraphDucker]

Contract renewal, clearly all that money and the length of the contract have had a negative effect IMHO.
I think we should cut him some slack as we aren’t cognizant as to what might be happening behind the scenes as well as his personal life

It's not fair, I believe Manchester United may protest against the decision, not that it will guarentee they get reinstated as if all of Villa's results are deemed void and removed then Durham will get handed a place as second placed in group A and with a higher points margin than United, a clear case of the tibunal not looking at the bigger picture. It would have been easier to kick Villa out and award a by to the team they are drawn against in the Quarter Finals.

Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, reveals that talks are ongoing with INEOS over the future of Old Trafford! #MUFC [@BBCRadioManc]

Enjoyable watch for a change. Not surprising considering Shaw, Martinez, Casemiro are back. Oh and Garnacho and Rashford have stopped shooting from anywhere on the pitch. Should be about 7 up though.
